  1. Ref my indication sticking. It cannot be a pipe problem or tapping the glass would not make the needle drop if the pressure was still trapped in the gauge. So still awaiting a replacement..
  2. I have a Halfords low profile trolley jack. Its fine under my Supersport with a block of wood on the pad as well. But this is my second one as the first had an internal leak which allowed the jack to go down over an hour, the replacement is doing the same so beware. They are guaranteed for a year though.
  3. Hi. Yes Merlin made the pipe. Now got me thinking I might have kinked the pipe getting it through the grommet. It might just be that it lets pressure in but not out. Will move the pipe around and see if the indication then drops.
  4. Two off Toyo Proxes T1R 195 45 15R with 6mm tread. Still here if anybody wants to make an offer?
  5. I have just fitted the Mocal gauge from Merlin. A point to note. If you get a 1.5m oil pipe it has to go through the rubber grommet just forward of the gear lever. An easier route is through the grommet near the pedal box, but this needs a longer pipe, probably at least a 1.75m pipe. Easy job. But my gauge only drops if I tap the glass so waiting for replacement. Much better than the electric version.
  6. Having gone up to a 55 profile Toyo tyre I have to clear the original ones out of the garage. to make some space. Two off Toyo Proxes T1R 195 45 15R with 6mm tread. Good condition. Looking for £60 for the pair. Three Avon CR500 195 45 15R. Two have 5mm and the other only 3mm. Good condition. Looking for £70 for the three. SOLD
  7. Hi. Do you know if the head rest cut outs will fit over Caterham leather seat headrests?
  8. Wanted. Tonneau cover for 1997 Supersport with leather seats.
  9. "Extra crap" seems to be the alternator and the fuel pump? Fuel pump fits in your pocket and alternator is no bigger than my wash bag so not sure why taking them is an issue.
  10. Sods Law........ Motte de loi (at least I think it is!!)
  11. All down to luck rather than servicing. In the last few years I have changed various items on either my cars ( MGB, Cat 7 and MR2) or cars traveling in company in Europe. Have changed fuel pump, Dynomo /alternator, tightened various things and even stripped a brake master cylinder to fit a new seals kit. Have also been told stories of people having their trip canceled with very simply faults , i.e. alternator, water pump and fuel pump (Su type on an MG which probably just needed a clout to persuade it back into life for a while). Surprising what you can get into a 7 "boot" and footwell.
  12. Just back from Pau and took the following. Clutch cable, Throttle cable (not the real one as they are expensive but a bowden cable with end nipples), fuses, spare wire, tie wraps, tape, tools, fuel pump (2nd hand spare), plugs, ignition leads, Idle control valve, Throttle position sensor, Alternator (heavy spare but essential if one fails) (No starter as you can always push start), bulbs, tyre repair foam and spare tyre. Various nuts and bolts, gasket sealant etc. The only thing that failed in a 1600 mile trip was the indicator flasher unit, and I did not have one of those!
  13. Hi Charlie. My car first car only had two holes in the frame for the pedal adjustment. You can adjust the pedals by using the adjustable push rods under the pedal box cover. These change the angle that the pedal "hangs down" at, therefore can be used to move the pedal angle so that the pad of the pedal moves further from the seat. Just have to watch that you are still getting full system operation without the pedal hitting the structure. Where are you?
  14. Wanted. EU2 engine idle control valve the S1 type with two mounting holes.
  15. Hi. Thanks. Just sent them an email. Brian
  16. Hi. 1.6 k series the older EU2 engine.
  17. I need an oil pressure sender unit. Purchased one a few weeks ago, but just tried to fit it and it is the larger thread size. I need the smaller one. Anybody help?
  18. One last try for a tunnel bag before I go for a new one, any out there?
  19. Hi. Been considering selling my Aero and getting a cheap Laser to release some capital! On reflection I think yours is probably cheaper than I would want to go, i.e. less competitive. Thanks anyway.
  20. Hi. What sail number, and hull condition? Brian
  21. Think so, just as spare. Mines 1997 1.6 K so it should fit. Will send message.
