  1. Confused from Dorset here too - conflicting information makes my brain hurt!
  2. Cheers Paul, out of interest where did you get that from? The only radius arm figure I can get is 25 in the guide!?
  3. I could well be being an idiot but......what's the torque setting for the bolt that secures the radius arm to the DD tube flanges (I think it's 25 foot pounds but it seems a touch low?) The assembly guide says to fit the bolt and nyloc but doesn't mention the use of any washers - is that correct or am I missing something? Thank you.
  4. Thanks Paul - thats what I thought to be fair - always best to check.
  5. A quick question - I've fitted a new DD tube and A - Frame over the weekend. The build manual states to move the axle stands to underneath the DD tube and lower the car on to them in order to take up the slack in the suspension before I finally torque everything up. Do I need to load the car with any weight (as I have seen done elsewhere) or is it purley to ensure everything is sat where it should be prior to tightening up? Thanks in advance.
  6. I'd say buy a new DD tube and save yourself the drama.............if Caterham had any in stock.

    Shift Lights

I'm after a set of shift lights (Aces preferably) if anyone has a set they no longer require? Thanks in advance.
  8. If you're changing the thermostat I can't recommend the QED remoted thermostat housing enough. It locates in the top hose and therefore reacts to the heat of the engine better and reduces the "thermal shock" to the head gasket when the rush of cold water from the radiator hits the head. I fitted one recently and the car runs at temp absolutely perfectly ( it came with a slightly lower temp thermostat, 82 or 84 degrees I think?) The added bonus is that bleeding the cooling system is a dream - no effort at all. They're not cheap at £125.00 but worth every penny in my opinion.
  9. I second the use of Waxoyl in the chassis - I replaced all my panels recently and I forgot to spray - rivet heads was all I could hear for the whole of the first run out!! All sorted now after drilling out a couple of rivets again and spraying s**t loads of Waxoyl in the holes before replacing the rivets - job nipped.
  10. Does anyone know the correct paint code for Caterham Yellow. It would seem a difficult task to match it without. Cheers.
  11. I got a fantastic briaided hose made by Think Automotive. They supplied the M12x1.5 to 1/8 BSP adaptor for the sender housing to pipe union too.
  12. Does anyone have a LHS rear radius arm for a 2003 (Imperial) S3? Thanks.
  13. Nipped - booked in for 1st May.
  14. I've got one for sale if anyone else is after one?
  15. It's the DVA website I've been looking at - the prices seem very reasonable and upfront, VAT included in published prices. Whilst I'm reasonably handy with a spanner it's not a job I'd want to tackle myself so a trip to MK would be on the cards for sure. Dave - would you be able to confirm cost of the 135BHP kit fitted to include the 52mm TB via BM? Time is NEVER on my side so could the job be done in a day if I arrive early doors and bring a good book!?
  16. Thanks Dave - I think that's the way forward. Which are the cams of choice, Piper?
  17. I was thinking along the lines of cams and ECU, it seems a relatively cheap route to a little more go. Its been suggested Supersport cams is the way to go and they're pretty reasonable price wise. I'm not sure about the cost of an ECU flash though, any ideas?
  18. Well what can I say David!? I'm considering selling and "moving up" a bit - just don't mention it to Lindsey!
  19. I've just had a bit of an unexpected windfall so my mind has turned to engine mods. What's the best route for a little more shove without compromising reliability or breaking the bank on a 1600 K-Series? I don't want to go crackers, just improve things a little. Would fitting a VVC inlet manifold give me any gains (I ask because I have access to a cheap one). Thanks in advance.
  20. I've recently fitted an aero filler on my car and I fill without issue. I used to have the same "spit back" on opening the cap on my old car and that had the flap removed.
  21. I'm after tunnel and bulkhead carpet for a S3.
