  1. I'm not having much luck with driving shoes lately! Brand new, tried on once and never been out the house, Puma Speedcat shoes in a UK 11. They're too big for me - £35 including postage - SOLD TO PHIL.
  2. That went worryingly well - bled using the blow through the expansion bottle and jack the front up method (should be called the drink a bit of coolant method). Runs up lovely, all hoses good and hot with the radiator hot at the top and bottom. No overheating at all and the fan cuts in perfectly on time - too good to be true maybe?! Many thanks for your advice and photo Malcolm.
  3. Is the plan to get a harder ride in your rear end Johnny? Was that door any good?
  4. I've just ordered some 5 3/4" headlights for my car so my 7" items are up for sale. There is a ten day wait for the new lights so no major rush but I'll remove them now and post out if someone is desperate. They're in perfect working order and the shells are in top condition. New from Caterham they're £114.00 each! £70 ono for the pair plus postage?
  5. Thanks very much! Mines a newly supplied kit so I have the metal disc ready to fit into the Rover housing. Another quick question if you don't mind - does the bleed from the QED housing (to your submarine pipe) face towards the back of the car? In order to get the flow orientation right it looks like the by pass from the QED housing (brass pipe) has to face that way? I don't suppose I could be a real pain and ask for a photo of your installation could I?
  6. I know there's shed loads of coolant bleeding posts on here but I can't find anything relating to the use of a remote thermostat. I plan to drain the coolant this weekend, fit a QED remote thermostat, fit silicone hoses and replace the coolant with new on my 1.6 K-Series (no heater). I plan to use the following method but I'm open to comments (kind ones) and advice from others. 1. Drain coolant via bottom hose removal. 2. Remove factory fitted thermostat housing, discard thermostat and refit housing. 3. Remove and replace all the hoses. 4. Fit remote thermostat in top hose as per QED's instructions. Now, this is where I'm a little unsure...... 5. Back fill top hose on the "engine side" of the thermostat (slowly) and refit. 6. Remove expansion tank cap and fill (slowly) until coolant comes through the radiator bleed screw with car jacked up at the front. 7. Run car and massage hoses. 8. Check the top of the rad is getting hot, when up to temp check the bottom hose and other hoses are all hot. 9. Wait for fan to cut in and top up expansion tank if required. Am I a million miles out? it's the first time I've done this on a Caterham so any advice is welcome. If i can do this myself it'll save Cliff having to come over!!!
  7. Cheers Richard. The car does have an Apollo tank fitted.
  8. Good call! I hadn't thought of that, is it pretty easy to remove and refit once cleaned, its just a plunger and spring isn't it?
  9. 1.6 K -Series with mech OPG. The oil level is correct on the dipstick but I seem to be getting slightly high oil pressure readings of 70 - 75 PSI with the water temperature at an indicated 88 (ish) degrees (fan cutting in). Admittedly this is with the car stationary so I'm wondering if its due to very cold oil (water up to temp but oil not). The car has a new fan switch and temp sensor so I'm working on the temp readings being correct. I'm not overly worried about it but wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar in very cold conditions? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi Jon, Its the small roll with the buckles for a half hood, very good condition. Its made of a canvas like material rather than vinyl I'll PM you a picture if you'd like?
  11. Sure Bahf! PM me your details and I'll get it off to you.
  12. Johnny, I'll bring the door and that wiper switch to you on Tuesday.
  13. No problem Arno, message me your details and I'll get it sorted for you.
  14. I've got three standard Caterham oil pressure gauges hanging around the garage gathering dust! They're the standard fit that use the electrical oil pressure sender as supplied by Caterham - £10 each plus postage -ALL GONE! (ERNGOR, ARNO & BAHF ONE EACH) Standard Imperial roll bar (without diagonal) £20 plus postage or can be collected from Dorset - SOLD TO ARNO Custom Imperial roll bar with single diagonal and head restraint plates - this is an odd bit of kit that came on my car when I bought it. It looks like a custom built roll bar along the lines of a single diagonal bar with extra tubing fitted that sports a plate for both driver and passenger seat backs. It's a larger gauge tubing than a standard bar and painted dark blue - might be of interest to someone before I skip it?! £20 plus postage (probably better for collection given size and weight!) S3 imperial knee trim panels (with tongue) £15 plus postage for the pair. SBFS half hood storage roll - £20 plus postage. - SOLD TO JON. Drivers side screen with side intrusion bar cut out (no hinges) - £25 plus postage - SOLD TO JOHNNY. Brand new never fitted clear repeater lenses and amber bulbs - £10 plus postage - SOLD. If you're interested in anything drop me a line and I'll supply photo's or more information as required.

    Dash Lights

I've never had a car with a reversing light indicator on the dash - surely they've made a mistake?
  16. Did you get the bits Ed, I've not heard from you?
  17. That's what mine say so I'm guessing they are the standard fitment for a 1.6 - thank you very much indeed!
  18. I thought as much too but Bosch do give a flow rate based on 3 bar static pressure - it would seem that this can differ even when the injector carries the same part number.
  19. Can anyone with a K-Series 1.6 car check the part number on their injectors please?
  20. Strange thing is JK that I'm looking at a new set with the part number 0280 155 884 and a flow rate of 152cc/min but the Bosch chart says 0280 155 884 should have a flow rate of 176cc/min the injectors in my car are 0280 155 884 also - I'm confused, surely the same part number won't have differing flow rates?
  21. That's not the right one JK they're for 140-150 BHP cars, my car is a 120 BHP car. Mine are black but I'm struggling to read the part number, even with my glasses but I think it's 0280 155 884?
  22. Hi, Does anyone know the Bosch part number for K-Series EU3 1.6 standard fuel injectors? Thanks.
