  1. James. You are really going to struggle to get to your required ride heights using the Street Series. The springs are too soft for the VX. Can you tell me when you purchased them as we had to get them extended before we could sell them. Unfortunately the SS only comes with set spring rates/valving and lengths. Again its its likely you will run out of thread on the damper body at the front with the standard 7" spring. You will have loads of preload on each end particularly the front and the ride will be very bouncy! Please give me a call if you need more information or advice.
  2. Richard. The DS3000 work brilliantly from cold and great when hot also. Always with consistent feel through the pedal. They last for ever - in fact thats the one draw back they may well last longer than the discs! I did have to swap back to 1144 in the Busa as they were too aggressive for a car with little engine braking but the 1144 only gave me confidence for a couple of big stops using the slicks. You can really smell them at the top of the hill at Epynt for example. I now use the DS2500 a happy compromise.
  3. I was told Ray Snotes had been snooping around.
  4. My run here The last run didn't quite get completed. :-o I was my intention to go flat through Hollow. I had only just feathered the throttle in T1 - perfect line and very easy by cutting so much. So with extra intent, I thought a little more grass on the right before corner entry was the way forward to achieve my target. Not so! By taking the grass on the right I was too late to turn in to "cut" the grass on the left so hit the curb which did unsettle the car = deep breath! caught it and carry on. Then I wanted to make up time on the turn up the hill. Too fast and the rear just let go. In conclusion. I can and will do Hollow flat at around 103 mph next year conditions allowing. (I don't actually think there is much time to gain here versus the small lift BUT its the thrill that counts). Finally, after 2 events back on the Kumho I can now safely say that the slick shod car is front tyre limited and the Kumho cars are rear tyre limited.
  5. I lent my camera to Will (our visiting degree student) over the weekend. He may be a better photographer than motorsport student :-) So here is a link to a shared folder. Feel free to download any you would like. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h6tg1kbhxfpnf5z/AABPab6f6m8rHGNDbNTK0_tja?dl=0
  6. I doubt very much any damper is off the shelf. When we specify ours we very much take all the car characteristics into account. Specification, weight and usage. Presently lead time will be from 3 to 4 weeks depending upon the manufacturer. We no longer offer twin tube type dampers and only offer mono tube gas pressurized type which has a significantly higher performance.
  7. I have driven a couple of Sadev cars and will do again next week in another 620 and I used the Elite IL 200 for a full 7 years of track and road work. The Elite was probably a little quieter than the Sadev but difficult to measure and is also subjective and impaired by different engines. The Elite change is so significantly lighter to change gear than the Sadev you almost think there is something wrong with it. I had paddles with the Elite from day one but retained the stick as it was the first pneumatic paddle shift install ever with that box and car combination. You can change gear with a light pull with 2 fingers. That's not to knock the Sadev. as its specs are much stronger than the Elite. The cost is double also. I sell the Elite box and have a design for the gearbox mount that will link up with the existing Caterham mount.
  8. What's all this "g" don't you have to be going fast to get this?
  9. Yes I use them. Feels just like a a full height seat. I don't notice the top section not being there. I can supply if you are interested. Please email for more information as I don't get time to check back here all the time.
  10. We sell the majority of CXR for Caterham's or so Compomotive tell me.
  11. Hi Richard I don't think there is a cost. There wasn't when I was doing it. It was simply that you were part of a regional group.
  12. Chris Your also missing the WAMC Welsh association. Unless Motorsport UK have that as ASWMC ? We used to be listed under the Welsh region due to the Registered office location. I think I recall unregistering us for some reason but it is too long ago now. There must have been a reason. I think joining a National Club group would be the best as the Regional Groups can get a little touchy if you then do not help out locally. That of course is not relevant to our national membership.
  13. I have 3 pairs of discs still available after customers who said yes have not responded to follow up messages. Same price £120/pair !!!! Ex vat Call me or email me. simon@meteormotorsport.com 07920 843146
  14. Please see the marketplace for an unbelievable offer. Its the only reason i am posting it here so that more people see it. There will not be any new stock after these.
  15. Time for a clearance. We have 20 pairs of vented discs for the front Caterham AP brake calipers. How much? Just £120.00 / pair. That's less than Caterham charge for a single disc. Shipping is £15.00 + vat. When they are gone there will be no more. This is the last of our stock and we will not be replacing them. So if you want to put some on the shelf for future use now is the time. Payment by BACS or Card. No Paypal sorry unless you want to pay 4% additional fee. Contact me via email or phone. Simon@meteormotorsport.com or 07920 843146
  16. Yes we supply Ferodo. It's my favorite pad. As above all on the Meteor site https://www.meteormotorsport.com/caterham/brakes-pads/ferodo/
  17. I would very much advise 2" with any FHR. Personally I could not get the 3" belts tight with the FHR. If you can imagine although the 3" belts are approved for use with all FHR's the belt tends to curl up. Then as you tighten you are only placing a strain on the top of the curled edge. The belt itself remains a little loose. As soon as I swapped to 2" it all felt natural and I was able to feel tight in the car again. Each to their own but I like the Simpson Hybrid and it always looks easier to get into the car without the device and helmet already fitted.
  18. Yes Varley are MSA listed. I pointed this out to Varley when it was first introduced. Here
  19. Thought there may have been a few roundabouts! We could even have done as they do in WRC now which is a mandatory Donut! or a 540 round the roundabout!
  20. Hi Chris. Can you list the events that will be qualifying for the overall tie brake please. Trying to plan the year between these events and my Autograss commitments.
  21. If you want to take a look at all the possible options for dampers that I offer I have a Buyers Guide that you can download. https://www.meteormotorsport.com/caterham/suspension/ Most people seem to like the way it's written and the advice. Many of the guys mentioned above to set up the cars buy their dampers from us and then do the fitting and setup to suit the customer locally. Give us a call for more info.
