  1. For the Future. Should we consider merging Class 5 and 6 for the sake of competition. Not for 2015 or even for 2016.
  2. The general regs - it only really affects class 6 should be amended to follow the MSA regs when referring to reverse gears. We say that all cars should have an operational reverse gear. MSA say that any car fitted with a reverse gear should ensure it remains operational. Its a small issue but I believe this year it would have allowed me to remain in class and have a good battle with the others who really didn't care I lost reverse. I would have removed the reverse box and therefore complied with the rules as I would not have had one in the car and therefore not had to maintain its function/operation. Where its useful let's follow the MSA.
  3. After some competitors this year continued to ignore this rule I spotted them using the brake even when the lights did not come on. However it came to my attention half way through the year that it is kinder to the car if we were to remove this rule given we are now approx 7 years down the road from the infamous Loton Park. I discussed this with a few competitors throughout the year. I therefore propose that the rule is removed and it should follow the standard MSA rule that simplynstates that forward momentum should be maintained. So that one clutch bite/use age a little brake and warm tyre. Excessive smoke will be penalised by the spirit of the champs rule and a bloody great big stick!
  4. Agree Edward Lewis is not perfect but neither is life. It all gets to complicated. Its supposed to be fun. I will not be putting larger stickers on the car just as this year. It removes the paint at the end of the year even after every trick in the book and a hot air gun. If it means I don't enter the champs so be it. We should not be putting rules in place we should be removing rules!!!!!!!!!
  5. I believe the need to retain the plenum was an oversight when crafting the 2015 regs and was supposed to have been removed. I was at the meeting. It was the last of my tenure. I say this as it is clearly in direct contradiction of the current TB's on sigma 150's. The open 155bhp is therefore meaningless. My aim of these "open" rules are to allow as many people to compete in a class as possible. The least rules in a class the better from my viewpoint. I would also suggest retaining the 155bhp limit for 2015. But allow R300 of K series. I would ask any duratec R300 to show some power plots. I do not have enough knowledge to include them as a matter of course. I suspect they will become the model that falls into the least competitive category. If you wish to split power of the classes I would actually try to reduce class 2 a little and increase 3 a little but I fear that would put people off. Personally I would limit both classes to 150bhp. Far closer to standard power of the production cars still based on the no rules format. Unfortunately I think this affects 2 cars already over the limit and R300's but would prevent all the others spending anything else! Any future power alterations of the rules should always give a minimum of 12 months notice.
  6. Oh don't worry Phillip - Wendy will have lots of company - there will be lots of other laddies in the corrner talking about shoes, hats and other assorted shopping "upgrades". Remember whatever budget you are thinking of you have to double it. So remember keep those "BUDGET" costs down
  7. I am aware of a batch of Brand New Titan Roller barrels ready to find new homes for K series engines. (No they are not mine). I will have to find out cost and how many. A new MBE 9A4 ECU is £545.00
  8. Jonathan You keep saying your sceptical about Evans. Yet all the evidence from members on here who have used it provide the evidence in their installation an usage which proves it works. Tom has confirmed it stopped the pressurisation which therefore logically must indicated there was localised boiling in the engine. It clearly has not solved the inherent problem that cooling is an issue. That's not my point though. it may not be necessary for most 7's or indeed any car but when you look at the advantages and long term cost savings on coolant and lack of corrosion to parts in the system with no known negatives why you continue to knock it I find confusing. when you have used it and suffered a negative experience because of it may be I will take note of you comments about it. Until then I will just be skipping you posts. Yes I do sell the stuff. No I am not that bothered because I have not sold enough of it to make me enough profit to refil my own car. Yes I do use it.
  9. Did you measure the wheel rate as I suggested prior to ordering your replacement springs? If you do not know the wheel rate you may as well be blindfolded whilst playing darts.
  10. I can use a range of smilies - the last one will be the one that applies to anything I say here unless a more specific technical question is asked - then I can answer.
  11. I am not sure of the wheel rate with Super Wide. Its simple to measure and I would suggest you do this prior to purchasing any upgrades. Please give me a call and I will talk you through it.
  12. I note this has only come about since the L7C have been at the venue - I see a tyre warming pattern evolving
  13. I don't charge for advice or info - it's free. I also quite often advise no change. Thats what happened to the last thread with Tom - I suggested he fitted Bilsteins for now. i know Tom will call when he needs to in the future.
  14. Alan. Your Meteor (CiC) silencer is the same size as an SLR system. I had an SLR system on my car and as Richard had done shortened the 1 of the 4-2-1. I will fit fine. And still make a glorious noise
  15. Tigger My Meteor site is down at the moment. If you need to call as suggested above its 01588 668708
  16. I seem to recall I missed taking the overall Speed championship one year becasue mine tripped on the outside kerbs of Paddock at Pembrey on my 3rd attempt at the one and only run we had that day. Shaus tried very hard to put me off on the first 2 attempts. I also recall he took out the timing gear on the second go! http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png Yes moving the button is a good idea particularly for track day or race if you have to maintain it. For Speed events - I'll take my chances without it as once it triggers the run is over!
  17. Well done Everyone! Not just the winners. I think we all survived. http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.png Next year will be tougher Shaun now that you have lowered the records everywherehttp://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png Many congrats for all the hard work and investment. No more upgrades this winter ?
  18. http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png Advertised elsewhere also but its always worth posting on here. We have a litter of 6 gorgeous Miniature Labradoodle Pups 2 Males and 4 Females. They will be ready to leave for their forever homes around the 26th November. 1 Apricot Male, 1 Black Male, 2 Black Female, 2 Apricot Females. Why did we have the litter?– well we wanted another dog and Saffy (Mum) is so calm, quiet and loving there really was no other way to do it! This is Saffy, our wonderful Chocolate Labrador’s first litter. Saffy is our very much loved family pet. She is a Pedigree Chocolate Labrador at only 18” high, with the most loving and gentle nature, she is a very calm, laid back girl. Although Saffy has full pedigree (and a good one at that with 13 field trial champions in her line) she is not KC registered. Dad is a Miniature Poodle from renowned breeders Wentwood Labradoodles. Moscow is Apricot, 14” tall and has DNA PRA clear certification. We chose Moscow as Wentwood were so professional in every aspect of our communication. His puppies have super temperaments and colour and he is KC registered. All the puppies will come with: First vaccination, Vet check certificate, a bag of Burns adjustment puppy food, a small blanket that has spent time with all of the pups and Saffy. They will have been wormed at regular periods before leaving for their forever homes. Copies of mum's pedigree, eye test, vacc card etc. will be available. They will be well socialized, having spent time with children of different ages, (you get lots of visitors when you have a litter of puppies), be used to household noises and have started their sit-stay training. Deposits being taken now. Ready for viewing 1st Nov. We won’t let the puppies leave until they are 8 weeks old, so ready to leave Mum on 26th Nov.
