  5. "Boogity Booogity Boogity" - "Lets go Racin Boys!"
  6. Its all mixed up out there. Generally 1992 is a date of change. 1996 is also "in general" when the front damper mount was moved from the wishbone to the chassis. There are still some cars being built in 1999 with the top rear damper mount as a stud. And don't even start trying to work out the through the tube or below tube lower rar damper mount!!!
  7. No bother! Except, Gurston, Aintree, Anglesey oh and maybe Llandow! Bring it on Unless of course Jonathan beats me then we need to resort to the dreaded upgradeitis and unfortunately I know what I will have to !"supercharged" cough) do!

  9. Oh just for clarity - I have not and will not be entering this year I can not commit to any long distance rounds given the impending Rental of Caterham Hire Wales cars. I didn't fully think about the requirement of customers to want to collect them on the morning of race days Therefor I can not get to enough qualifying events. I will though see you at all the local events where I will be competing in the WAMC championship. I hope to be at both Curbs rounds by offering a 2 for 1 hire offer. However saying all of the above I find it strange that this will be the first season in 14 years not to be on the list (so perhaps I will just to keep the 100% record)
  10. I see Mr Malkin on the list. No wonder my foreign neighbour has not entered. Now he is a member of the SAGA 7's he has got a bit forgetfull and likes to tinker with his tractor and talks of the length of the grass in the lower paddock!
  11. Truth is I turned in a couple of yards early and apexed a couple early also! Still makes you twitch though!
  12. I did a track day on super softs on Sunday. Tyres like new once again (they looked prety awful before the day and I do have some footage of my first run around Pembrey that would confirm the first session grip = well there isn't any However I did nonly complete 5 5 lap runs all day!
  13. DS3000 - I think it will bring a better balance also. The rear is so under braked compared to the big AP fronts. 3000's work at a higher temp. DS1.11 have more initial bite when cold but do not peak - flat "curve" for friction/heat. May be an option.
  14. My understanding is that there are only 2 types of caliper. However there is more than one pad pattern that fits the earlier version. over the past 5 years all my customers have received the patterns stated above with zero issue. A number of them have comented that the replacement pattern did have a larger contact area = it is a larger pad than the other patterns that have been used. To get to where i have i trawled the archives of old BC and spoke with AP cross refrenced and cross checked. I doubt there is only one answer though.
  15. Yes Mintex MDB 1864 Ferodo FRP219H or R for DS 2500 or 3000
  16. That pdf is the official MSA news letter.
  17. Andy. We have (many of us in the speed champs) run wide fronts for many years. This began as many cars suffered understeer - others did not Initially that meant 215 Kumho all round. Then we relaxed the overall width regs so we run 215/235. It took me a number of events to get my previously perfectly balanced car back to a neutral state. Many of us run data loggers also. My findings were that there was no increase in lateral g in corners as people were looking for but I gained a significant amount of longitudinal/in line g when braking. My increase was from 1.35 ish to 1.75 ish. After many years on those widths I succumbed to ZZRs in 2013. 185/215. They lasted 1 event for me. I didn't like them and the main reason was braking. Data clearly showed a drop back down as per the figures above. You will get all sorts of views about camber set up with a wider front. For me I have gone to just 0.5 deg negative as for the hills and short runs we do I get more even temp spread. I understand others still run -2.5. If you run -2.5 on a 215 Kumho on the road the outer 1/3 of the tyre doesn't touch the road and remains stone cold. Would I run 215 for road use. no. Would I run 215 for track use - most definitely Yes. Running wide front Kumho means you do need to run wider front wings.
  18. ALL performance aftermsarket dampers should be regularly serviced. That includes all the names mentioned above. The fact is most people have in the past thought they were fit and forget. That included me. I was only just chatting to Mr AVO this afternoon at the Tour of Epynt Rally parc ferme and discussing just this subject.
  19. Well its always clear as the day it went in when I look at my header tank. Other coolants always got mucky and the crap it flushed out when we first flushed a K series 7 was frankly scary! I think you will ring KTM world enduro team also use it. Also JCB were about to spec it as new in all new plant with sealedsystems. The deal was nearly complete and then JCB had a chang e of heart. Why? They looked at the value of spares they sold in order to keep existing water based coolant plant operating! Jonathan and John Vine. If you wrote to me and asked my what my special additives were in a product I sold I certainly would not be telling you. Just because there have been many snake oil products over the years doesn't mean everything new has to be also.
