  1. Any sheet metal fabricator will be able to roll up a sleeve to fit and be a LOT cheaper than Cheesman.

    tonneau

Tonneau cover for S3 chassis using half doors. The tonneau integrates/fastens to poppers on the top edge of your half doors. Massively enhances comfort when driving with an aero screen with the passenger side covered. In very good condition no scuffs or tears or mods. Also works well with the rigid MOG half doors. £75 and buyer pays postage or collects. Tel 01275 371255 Thanks Rob Edited by - rob walker on 15 Jul 2014 16:35:29
  3. Roger, I would do a leak down test before removing the head. If its necessary to remove the head and you can lock the crank in the safety position at 90 degrees before TCD you do not need liner clamps. Rob
  4. Roger, try Performance Braking in monmouth 01600 713117 or Moss, one should be able to sort you out. IIRC they are off a Triumph Spitfire. Rob
  5. Hi Scott, I did it the other way round got the bikes about 3 years ago and gradually the Caterham got used less and less , finally sold my much loved 7 this week. I felt really sad to see it being driven away. Best regards Rob

  13. Both the sequential and the H pattern are manual. Never seen an auto box in a Caterham.
  14. I have run my caterham 6 speed with a 250bhp 185ft lb 8500rpm Duratec with no problems
  15. Merrick, Worried about the 92db drive bye. Thats low and going to be a hard limit for most tuned cars to keep under especially when pushing on in close proximity to other cars. Rob
  16. IIRC on my car it was the ends of the de dion tube that the ears mount onto that needed fettling not the ears.
  17. I tried the rotary car body polisher angle grinder type thingy, it was useless as it revs too slow to buff ali. I now use a bench grinder with the grinding wheels removed and a extension shaft on one ends with cotton buffing wheel attached to the shaft. It buffs to a mirror finish using the bars of ali buffing compound. Once done it never needs doing again just polish once or twice a year with Belgum Alloy polish and a soft clean cloth.
  18. I never had to fit extended studs to use Barnby wheels, are you shure you need them? If you offer up the wheel to the hub then slide the nut unto the thread through the wheel you should have a min of 10mm of sleeve nut to tighten until it seats and clamps the wheel to the hub. 19. Elie, What do you mean by Duratec coil support?
  20. 7wonders of the world, All the con rods that I had made by both Farndon and Arrow were machined from Billet EN24V. I also stand by the fact that a machined rod is stronger than a forged one. As you posted the grain structure within the billet is key should be uniform and stay uniform as the rod is machined out of the billet. If however you squash material or forge it into a blank to make a rod the grain structure must be distorted hence a forged rod is not as strong. Also I think that the steel used to make a forged rod is different A forged rod will however be stronger and more ductile than a cast rod of the same section. 21. The main difference between these rods and the ones manufactured by Arrow and farndon is that the cheap ones are a forged rod where as the others are machined from a solid billet and thus much more expensive to produce and are of course stronger. I have been using forged rods in my own duratec engines for years without any problems. You pays your money and takes your chance as they say.
  22. If you open the tank filler cap does air rush in , is there a vacuum? If so check the tank breather one way valve could be stuck closed.
  23. Slacken off the bleed nipple and simply jam the brake peddle fully down with a block of wood . With the brake peddle fully down this stops the master cylinder drianing down. Edited by - Rob Walker on 1 Mar 2014 08:58:30
