Quoting SM25T: CR500 sidewalls develop alarming splits due to heat difference across the tyre width. They are a very expensive tyre. I've had many sets of CR500's and never had any splits and the cost per mile is not as expensive as several other makes. They are also very light and don't have over hard side walls like others do. Quoting BAZZA: I have the roller barrels and lgged primaries but the biggest improvement came when I fitted a RIF carbon tunnel top with the mesh handbrake a gear lever gaiters . I found the opposite removing RIF tunnel top and fitting tunnel top stopped hot air coming into the cockpit and reduced transmission noise. The tunnel was insulated during the Duratec installation TonyR

If the budget is tight I would go as Shaun suggests for repanel & chassis refurbish, but not paint the new alloy panels until a later date. TonyR
