  1. ive lost the little pozi bolt and nut that holds the bezel on a chrome 7 inch headlamp. any ideas of where to get or has someone got one languishing in the back of the garage.
  2. Found their website http://www.orbitalmotorsport.co.uk/page4.php?view=productPage&product=30&category=5
  3. Looks like they are out of them at the moment but it might be worth contacting the seller https://www.m.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?sid=orbitalmotorsport&isRefine=true&_pgn=1 This is a set of large bore copper exhaust gaskets to fit all Ford Kent crossflow engines fitted in Escorts, Fiesta's and many other cars fitted with the xflow engine. made from 2mm copper with a 34.5mm bore they will fit both standard and ported cylinder heads. When fitting please make sure the mating surfaces are clean and flat and if necessary use a smear of gasket sealant.
  4. Try eBay for cooper gasket for xflow, put it on clean (with no sealant) and it should squash down and hold its shape. ive just ordered some new ones for mine, the last ones have been on for 18 years
  5. I use bothy bags as emergency shelters whilst taking groups into the mountains, don’t see why a large one couldn’t work as an emergency garage https://www.uttings.co.uk/p100495-terra-nova-bothy-bag-8-emergency-shelter-53b8/?option_id=40443&adwords=true&gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8Wqis1CCpcb3EDSEWUxBhOYRmTb8FQ28Do27GQo7_XKFZzhegA_6iQuxoCt3cQAvD_BwE#.W4-RCqTTXYU
  6. Oil must be misting in the pipe, collecting and then leaks out as you’ve got it lower than the tank. I guess you could try wire wool in the top of the tank to try and collect the oil droplets. was the fumes really that bad? Mine vents in the engine bay and I hardly notice it
  7. Are you sure oil isn’t coming out from somewhere else? are you using the original fitting in the crank case? Have a wipe around and see if it’s venting there where the pipe pushes in rather than into the tank.
  8. Not seen those washers before, just ordered some cheers
  9. Just checked mine (on my xflow) after reading this and two bolts had come loose. Just goes to show that reading reading blatchat gets you off your bum and under the bonnet just in time.
  10. Thanks guys, what’s the benefit of this over the vent cap and PCV to bottle other than looking much nicer? Am I right in thinking my return valve would have been removed in my PCV
  11. I’ve got the normal PCV venting to a plastic bottle, never any oil in the bottle. The engine runs fine with no problems. Is it a better solution to remove the pcv and replace with an angled adapter to an Ali catch tank and vent the rocker cover via a take off cap to the tank? If so, how easy is it to get the PCV out and replace the the angled takeoff?
  12. I’ve got a meggajolt system so slightly different, does the alpha box have a port for plugging in a laptop? If so it should show if the tps and crank trigger are working?
  13. Has the mounting surface warped on the primaries. This would also cause you to blow gaskets regularly.
  14. I’ve got a 7 inch re-packable on my 1760 xflow. No noticeable difference in feel but much more comfortable on long journeys, much better sound (in my opinion) when driving hard as you hear the induction blat much better. Also stopped me getting into trouble at tracks. Probably a 6 inch might give the best sound if you’re not interested in going on tracks. i got mine made to suit the 4 into 1 xflow so no need to modify.

Got mine from Power Speed when they were their old premises, spoke to them recently and they don’t seem to be able to make any xflow bits without the car. Not sure about Raceco j
  16. Double check the wiring you changed, could you have put a live wire to earth that only gets power once the ignition is switched on?
  17. I went through the same search for alternative tires and settled on the R888R in the same sizes as yours and that have been fine in the wet Scottish mountains. Better than the AO48’s they replaced.

  19. Hi Nick, did you get my payment a couple of weeks ago?
  20. Hi Nick ill have the trunion gun if you can post it. what type are the xflow exhaust gaskets? cheers Tony

  22. These are nice for a retro look Especially if you’ve got carbs http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/content/zetec-bda-rocker-cover-z057
  23. Thanks Roger, I’d hoped you would see the post. I’kl talk to powerspeed and see what they come up with. The car is only used on the road and the engine has been brilliant. Haven’t got a huge budget but it sounds like a worthwhile purchase if they can do an improved package. Tony
  24. does anyone have any experience with a 4-2-1 exhaust system on a Xflow? Mainly any improvement in lower revs power/torque over the standard 4-1 system. I have a 155bhp Roger King on 40’s with mega jolt 3D iginition and caterham 4-1 primaries and collector into a powespeed 7 inch silencer. It drives well and pulls strongly so don’t have any complaints, just wondered if it’s a worth while excersise.
  25. I put a mega jolt system on mine, made a massive difference to my 1760 xflow. i bought it used from someone on here and there's plenty of maps on line
