    O/T Damp Garage

I know this has been done before but I was wondering whether anyone had an opinion on this.... My 7 lives in a prefabricated garage with asbestos sheeted roof. The floor has no damproofing and the wall panel joints leak in heavy rain although I've done my best to seal them with silicone. The floor is partly carpet tiled. The roof drips water especially on frosty mornings and so I'm not sure if its condensation or porous roof sheets (they only get damp in heavy rain). I've added some ventilation louvres in the walls. Still seeing lots of condensation on cold surfaces though (engine exhaust etc) Should I insulate the roof sheets next or get one of these... here Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here Edited by - bozz on 27 Nov 2006 13:43:41 Edited by - bozz on 27 Nov 2006 13:52:31
  2. Both halfshafts need overhauling on my 97 Supersport this winter (split boots and leaking cans) but what other jobs should I do at the same time? I suppose I could replace the Dedion tube (subject to being able to get hold of one). It is the original with the lower cantilevered shock mounts and although it appears outwardly to be in reasonable condition the potential for failure is always nagging. If I was to do this what about changing from solid to flexible brake hoses? Is this a worthwhile mod? If so where can I get the parts from? Anything else? 3. I uninstalled it and it reverted to IE 6 again. Usually use Firefox 2 though and IMHO is much better Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
  4. Bloggsy Yes any non-factory built car. You can tell by looking at the chassis number see here So its' anything but an S in position 6 and would suggest that all chassis numbers V and before and some early W's in position 10 would be 'visible smoke only' at MOT time and do not require a CAT. For example Angus and Tessa's 1995 car was factory built and therefore needs a CAT for the MOT ☹️ Mines a 1997 kit built car and therefore does not need a CAT even though it came fitted with one from new. Not now though. 😬 Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here Edited by - Bozz on 22 Nov 2006 22:47:46

  7. Or possibly an airlock in the J hose. The radiator bottom hose is the last part of the cooling system to get warm. Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
  8. Just been and checked in the garage and I reckon they were M10 x 25 cap heads + a standard plain washer (Form A). Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here Edited by - Bozz on 16 Nov 2006 21:59:03
  9. Cagey H Can't remember what length bolts I used in the end but I do remember that they were very close to bottoming out. I'll check if you like. Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
  10. Dave Tell me I'm an idiot if you like but why is removing and refitting the studs any different from using bolts. BTW I've had more than 3/4 a bottle of red wine now so ....... Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
  11. Just replaced the studs on my engine with M10 A2 stainless cap heads and plain washers. Risky maybe, but makes fitting and removing the exhaust primaries so much easier. Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
  12. Alright, alright so I didn't do a search first How about the largest single shaft steam turbine generator then at 1750Megawatts which by my rough calculations is equivalent to about 2,300,000 hp *eek*. It's yet to be built mind. Makes the diesel above look weedy. Bozz McLaren Orange and Black 1.6SS 6 Speed here
