Was a private purchase and although I new that the rad was leakng slightly it's worse than I remember. New rad? What do you think about the running temperatures 🤔 Bozz ☹️ My other half says I'm obsessed.....

Just picked up my new 1.6 SS today and the return home involved 80 odd miles of motorway running 😬 😬 😬 😬 The coolant temperature gauge reading rose quite quickly to 80degrees and then once crusing at 70 it gradually crept up to 88 to 90 degrees. Is this normal 🤔 When I got the car home the small coolant weep I had noticed on the rad when I first looked at the car had become 2 and one was obviously more than just a weep with signs of coolant having splashed onto the top hose and dried. Should I carry on running the car like this or should I try either to stem the leaks with Radweld or replace the rad? Bozz My other half says I'm obsessed.....

Interesting this. As I'm in the market for a used 7 I was wondering if there were any significant differences in the cars (partucularly in the chassis and suspension) say between 1990 and present. Were there any step changes in build quality / performance / durability along the way? Any info gratefully received. Tim My other half says I'm obsessed.....
