  1. I was only having a moan as the house behind my workshops has moaned to the council about machine noise during working hours! She bought her house (20yds away) 5 years ago and you can see the workshops from all her back windows. They have been building and repairing boats right there since 1363. The council have, believe it or not, issued a letter to us and installed a noise meter. There seems to be no common sense.I'm not that bothered about the lack of tyre warming as it is the same for everyone, it just seems a shame, all things considered. No more 2 point 0 something 64foots.
  2. So, 99% (if not 100%) of everybody who lives within earshot of Gurston, bought their house at least 30 years after the Hillclimb venue opened! And I suspect the other 1% are so old now, that they are deaf! Frankly, they have no right at all to complain about noise on event weekends. They had full knowledge of the hillclimb location when they bought their house. I see no difference between these ridiculous complaints and me buying my house and then complaining to the local council to get the Solent Coastguard helicopter gounded, Lee airfield shut down and all power craft banned from the solent...... not to mention, the local farmer banned from ploughing the field next to me. After all, I bought a house with a field next to it - I couldn't possibly expect there to ever be a tractor in the locale. *ranting* No need to say what my opinion is of the local Salisbury council. Anyway, I'm guessing that will reset the records - be interesting to see the difference.
  3. Hi Paul, Hi Paul Paul R clearly has first refusal as it's his post. Let me know if they sell or not. Thanks.
  4. Believe it or not, I do....... Maybe not what you are quite looking for as they are virtually as new and I will sell the complete set only. I do notice that superlight91 also wants one x 6inch so maybe you could have one and offload the other? They currently have CR500's fitted with 4.5-5mm tread all round. Also stainless steel wheel nuts and washers and 1 or two sets of ZZR (215/55 and 185/55) with 4 and 5mm respectively also available. Let me know but I'll want proper money for the wheels and ss nuts but cheap tyres.
  5. Don't want to hi-jack but I am also looking for a set providing they are DTH 45mm? Thanks
  6. Just to say thank you to all those concerned, for a well organised and very enjoyable day at Hethel. This is a lovely circuit with flowing corners, tighter sections and fast straights. I was surprised at the low(ish) turnout on a sunny September day! More track time than you could wish for, free ARDS instructors, excellent etiquette on track by all drivers, not to mention a friendly paddock. Thank again http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.png
  7. and he spent rather a long time comentating on Alan's other hobby of "bog diving"
  8. Alan, I thought I'd compose this whilst I was watching your run on the other screen. Yes, a very enjoyable weekend - shame you missed dinner in the winebar - lovely meal and a couple of bottles of Rioja (guess who I was with )! Nicely through the gate Alan............... Quite impressive on those van tyres, I must say. Last time I drove on CR500's, I thought they had no grip! Yep, nicely through the trees. Now, no need to indicate around Sawbench. At this point class 7, 6, 5, 4 & 3 have finished so there's no one to indicate to anyway. Must be the van influence = indicate as you are turning . Still, plenty of time to turn it off in between those gear changes and ................... we're finished are you sure that wasn't a record? I haven't finished my coffee yet 😔 😬 😬 😬
  9. Missed this one.............. Well done Simon and the other new record holders. Very impressed too - took me three return trips to keep my foot in over Bunnies - first time back and in the 30's ! 😶‍🌫️ 'till next time
  10. Chris The class 5 record was 41.63s (jointly held by Shaun and Mark D), so Shaun, David and Stuart beat the old record with Shaun having set a new record of 40.90 yesterday. (equalling the C4 record 😬 😬 😬 ) Cracking day out, great location, good company and close competition!
  11. Gill, I can't imagine you guys have any room left in your trophy cabinet for "extra's' [;
  12. Alan, I think you'd gain another 0.01s if you sorted your mirror - we've talked about turning it sideways before to improve your aero. 😬 The only other thing I noticed having previously watched Shaun's video, was that you should set your camera replay to normal time and not "slow motion playback". Perhaps we should discuss your tyre choice over dinner at Wiscombe
  13. Entry posted Monday. Hope they should have it by now.
  14. Yes, well done Shaun! and, well driven - under 60seconds at Harewood is 😶‍🌫️ no matter how much power you have Gill, 7 maybe but then Simon's just moved there. I'm all for a bit of competition but I'm 25% down on power 5% up on weight and have a 6speed manual 'box. I'll have a think over the winter. Hopefully see you all at Curbs.
  15. And same here - home in 4 hours, 5 minutes. Took me 7 55 on the way up 😔 Cracking weekend and good competition. I think rob got mark by 100th and david got me by 100th, Simon in the 58's and Shaun the 59's 😶‍🌫️ The other classes were tight too. See you at the next one. P.S. I may stand corrected, but I think I need to give an orange Busa something yellow off my car 😬 for Curborough???
  16. And me please Well done Chris! I normally find booking a garage is a good way of ensuring no rain...
  17. Hi Chris I have entered or August. Couldn't remember if I had or not last month but Sam e-mailed me on 8th July to confirm I had indeed entered. Got my confirmation for the marshal's sprint too. Stuart
  18. Simon, you told me it was flat, with a little lift at the end................ 😔
  19. Rob, You are more than welcome to use a set of my Barnby's with ZZR - they'll be 2012 A24 compound 185 front / 215 rear. I've got a spare set of nuts you can have (I normally carry these just in case someone forgets to attach their front wheels at a hillclimb 😬) I'll bring them with anyway. Stuart
  20. No driver aids with the exception of those really sticky crossply things with no tread on them................... 😬 Seriously though, top 10 run off *thumbup* What a great weekend and the Welsh weather gods were smiling on us!
  21. No idea what you're talking about 😬 😬 Not even witnessed by half the speed championship and all those spectators.............. 😳 Maybe I need some driver aids still.. car in one piece!
  22. Not sure to whom I direct this so I thought I'd post on here. As this weekend will (hopefully, I'm not there yet) be my first of the season, I don't have a T-shirt yet. Also ordered two little ones for my boys. Just wondered who was distributing these, along with the handbook and if they were attending Llandow or Llys. ?
