  1. That's what we are here for Bruno 😬 Forget about the infinite amount of settings, just go for 3 or 4 ... I change for wet, road, track and MOT.
  2. Bruno, I've put an adjustable one at the front and never looked back ... 😬 😬
  3. Just make sure it doesn't go wrong ... it happened to me and I still don't like thinking about it ☹️ ☹️
  4. Bruno ... drop me a mail or give me a call for some more info. !!Gelukkig nieuwjaar!!
  5. Being bored behind my desk I was trying to figure out a simple way to explain to myself what power would be needed for an electric supercharger. I’m sure someone will come up with exact numbers soon and at that time say that my comparison does not make sense at all but for a quick calculation on the back of an envelope this should be not that bad ... I guess *confused* *confused* If you think of a 1800cc engine running at 8000rpm then if I’m correct you get 8000/2 active strokes per minute (for a 4 stroke engine). Multiplying this by the displacement of the engine should give us more or less how much air is needed to fill the engine for the active part. (4000* 1.8) = 7200 liter per minute. A quick search in Google on airflow from vacuum cleaners (told you my comparison would be ridiculous but I was looking for something with a fan and slight pressure) shows that a modern 1000W vacuum cleaner can displace about 3000 liter per minute ar low negative presure. For 7200 liter this would mean that we need around 7200 / 3000 = 2400 Watt or 3.6HP!!! Taking into account that we would like to see some proper pressure in the inlet manifold, not a few mBar, to get some power from the engine we probably need at least to double that figure … make it 8HP or around 5kW. I know the comparison is far from the real world but I bet you that that 5kW number is not far away from reality taking mechanical losses, etc. into account. It might be be a factor of 2 or so but doubtfully much more. This means that when powered from 12V we would need close to 400Amp to drive the “electric turbo” … don’t really see that happen easily 😬
  6. Fit my engine ... again .... and then hopefully get it through MOT

    Spa

It indeed was a great day ❗ ❗ Although it was pouring down with rain in the morning I drove 1H to SPA and signed on for some gorgeous track time. The morning started more then soaking wet, slowly drying up by afternoon and in the evening I could have used my slicks ... Ok, I did need a set of dry clothes half way during the day and several trips to the petrol station but hey 😬 😬 😬 🙅🏻‍♂️ Oh, I only noticed one other "foreigner", a fellow Belgian. How come no one else from the continent showed up? 🙅🏻‍♂️
  8. As I'm struggeling with the same thing With me the rear support (standing in front of the car) lines up perfectly with one of the holes in the engine block if I use the short one but then the front support it seems to line up with the belt tentioner for the dry sump pump ... but it needs to be modified as the "box" shape on the support does not perfectly allow the support of the belt tentioner to mate ... that does not sound right does it? Any comments or pictures are welcome as I would like to get this sorted before heading off to Switzerland on Sunday ... beside the other 1000 things I still need to do *cry*
  9. 1.6SS .... after 10 years finally upgrading but during all that time it never missed a beat, did probably about 5K track-miles (and they were not slow) plus 60K road miles. If it was not for being pissed off on the straights compared to >BHP cars I still would go for the same engine ... it just did not want to die (Appolo tank, enough oil and water plus an eye on the temperature thingy)
  10. Dobuy, I'm in Dubai at the moment and flying back to the UK via Qatar on Thursday. Should you need something taken over then let me know.
  11. Salt ... there is no salt on the roads yet!!! *cool*
  12. Bruno ... how can you put your car away already, you only just got it!?!?! *confused*
  13. Be aware of one thing: I normally use the Kumo's as a road tire, medium at the back and soft at the front. The day I needed to renew my licence it was +30deg Celcius and I took the Seven but forgot to change the tires ... the 20min practical part of the test totally used up my front left tire (only 500 road miles old) but I have to say that it stuck to the track wonderfully and I lapped all of the others once and a few even twice *wink* The last 5 min it got a bit wobbly though so best not to use them in too hot conditions!

    SPA

Today will be the best day of the week ... enjoy it! Tomorrow get your wets out *mad*
  16. You will enjoy the holiday more because you need it Angus ... every second of it!
  17. Coincidently ... 1st week of July!
  18. A standard 1.6K, maybe a VVC ... those would be my choise as an everday car. Standard rack, 5 speed because he will be doing lots of highway too. 14" rims so that finding tires is not a problem.
  19. He can always drop me a line too ...
  20. After having spoken with Kumho Motorsport I'm running soft at the front in 175 and medium at the back in 235. Don't know how "soft" they are compared to 048R's.
  21. 24V on a 12V starter motor ... and you think that would work under warranty? Twice the voltage is double the current or four times the power. I would be surprised if they survive that for very long *eek*
  22. >All were pumped up by the same forecourt machine - and then checked with my digital tyre >gauge - so there's nothing different in terms of how I filled or measured the pressures. So you must made 4 times the same mistake, doubt that all 4 wheels would have the same problem. It is not something silly like you held the guage upside down or so? I've been there before with indicators on a X-ray generator, 999 out of a thousand there is no problem reading them upside down and then once, being in a hurry or god knows why, suddenly your brain does not invert the numbers.
