  1. Further reduction to £8,500 ono Registered 21 June 2013. Current mileage 5,800 - I am the first and only owner / keeper of this vehicle. Standard Zetec spec. Highlights - air con, electric windows, alloys, Bluetooth phone connection (works really well with Windoze phones and was fine with the BlackBerry before that), USB, stop/start, Sync technology (voice recognition for audio / phone etc. - even understands Brummie), steering mounted audio controls. Note that not all Zetec's of this vintage have Sync or stop/start. Options - Metallic Panther Black paint (£500), steel spare wheel (£100). Car serviced at 12 months by a Ford Main Stealer. Zero VED. Long term I've achieved 46mpg average on a mix of commuting and occasional longer motorway trips. On steady motorway runs I've seen fuel figures get into the low 60's. The insurance renewal was £130, so all in all this is a pretty cheap motor to run! I have enjoyed every moment of ownership of this car. It has plenty enough steam to travel at motorway speeds and is nippy enough when running around town. Found the driving position and suspension settings spot on - always got out of the car feeling fresh. Only selling due to moving out to the US on a 3 year work assignment. With this in mind I've priced it below similar spec cars that are being advertised right now. Equivalent spec and mileage dealer cars are typically £10k-£11k (and many are in flat colours rather than metallic). Price reduced from £9,250 to £8,995 - with maybe a tiny bit of extra wriggle room for a club member :-) I can be contacted via this post or on zero Sven 921 - Hate Sven zero 9 Sven Hate. The car is located in the West Midlands - midway between Walsall and Cannock.
  2. Throttle and clutch cables now sold to Colin, just leaves the SV full hood and the Petty Strut.
  3. Here for the next 2 hours or so. Can leave with Nick Chan or Paul Richards
  4. Modest reductions on the remaining kit. I will be at Curborough later this morning with the remaining Caterham bits in the car. Contactable via BlatMail or just look out for a goon with a camera and a blue cap 😬
  5. On the off-chance that there are any potential sprinters at Curbs today who are missing a Petty Strut, I will have mine with me when I visit Curbs for a couple of hours later this morning (along with the other bits still for sale from this post here) Contact me via BlatMail or look out for me - most likely have a camera in my hand and with a blue cap on my bonce 😬
  6. I have a petty strut off an SV for sale (£25). Let me know if you are interested....
  7. Hi Matthew. I've been contacted by someone who may or may not be a club member (Michael, with an email starting msmit). I've not heard back from him since, so I presume that he is not interested. To answer the question in your email, I've had hood bags for S3 and SV and I can't remember which I'd sold previously and which one is left My guess is that it is an SV one - when I get back home tonight I'll check that I can get my SV hood into the bag. Posting stuff is a world of pain for me. Do you know of a sprinter or spectator who who is going to be at Curborough this weekend who I could drop it off with?
  8. Yeah, I'm minded to take it with me - it is a great bit of kit. Was just trying to simplify the move process 😬 There is a rowing club on the Charles River - as suggested by MoCa2CV some time back, maybe I should give the 'real thing' a go Edited by - Blokko on 17 Aug 2014 21:44:04
  9. I was originally planning to either take this bit of kit with me or to store it with relatives until we get back from our foreign work placement. Concept II Model D rowing machine with PM3 monitor and optional heart rate monitor module. Covered 452k lifetime metres. I purchased this unit from new from the manufacturer (so not a refurb or second-hand) and paid £1050 with the HRM option. Never been used in the garage or outdoors - always stored / used indoors. Looking for £700. Delivery might be a bit challenging! I'm located in the West Mids, so maybe there are some options around getting it in the back of a car and delivering / meeting somewhere along the route (within reasonable mileage). 10. Ozzy - sorry for the delay in getting back to you... I'm pretty sure that the cable is standard for a K Series S3 / SV. It is approx. 880mm from olive to olive. Let me know if you are still interested. Is your buddy going to be @Curbs next weekend?
  11. Hi Simon I last spotted you in 2007 and assumed that you had moved away from Caterham ownership as your car was going up for sale last time we spoke. Do you have a different car now, or did you end up staying with the same one? If you've remained in the Caterham fold I'm surprised it has taken this long to spot you again given that you live only a mile or so from us Guess you have spent more time spannering / polishing than driving 😬
  12. Yellow with black stripe spotted by the bread knife around 2:45pm Weds 13/08.
  13. Quoting Jonathan Kay: Vespa ditto.I thought you were throwing a Latin phrase at me then, Jonathan 😬
  14. Great link - thanks James. Yes, I was (maybe somewhat lazily) categorizing a battery that wasn't lead acid as gel, when in fact it is an AGM My other point still stands (I believe) - if you can isolate the parasitic load then the battery will not need to be conditioned / charged.
  15. I think I've been shot down for saying this before, but I'm sure I've read that gel batteries shouldn't be charged / conditioned (or maybe only certain devices are capable of charging such batteries). Anyhow, that to one side - why are you charging / conditioning the battery in the first place? If you can remove any parasitic load (alarm) whilst the car is stored either using an FIA cutoff key or by disconnecting the battery terminals then a gel battery will not lose any of its charge (I used an FIA cutoff and parked my car up for several months - battery was fine and car fired up first time). If you have flattened a gel battery, my understanding is that they cannot be resurrected and are scrappers.
  16. Sorry, Oz - I ran out of time to sort this before going out on the road with work. I'm back in the country on 11 Aug and I'll look into getting it posted out to you when I get back.
  17. Quoting Felixgogo: Hi, I would like the CTEK charger please, happy to pop over to pick it up, I'm in NW Leicestershire. Thanks Ian Apologies, Ian - this was claimed last night and I forgot to update the list....
  18. Quoting ozzy: Wouldn't mind the throttle cable, if it can be posted? Unless Cookie Monster is at Curborough, and can collect? I assume it fits Standard K with plastic plenum? Oz. Oz, I'll investigate postage tomorrow and let you know. I also need to check whether the throttle cable is the same for the SV and S3.
  19. Quoting mav: Hood price please Steve... Sorry, missed that one Mav. How does £80 sound, with drop off @ Curbs?
  20. Many thanks. Have sent out a Blat Mail to the (potential) sprinter who made the original enquiry.
  21. Mark (Powell). Have emailed you and will be dropping off the RE Bag later for delivery (at my local Co-op of all places). Have come across an Internet service, Interparcel, which looks like I'll be able to drop packages for delivery with my local Co-op. If this pans out ok then it might be suitable for some of the other smaller stuff I have up for sale. Mark (guitarguy) - my brother sometimes does work in Birmingham so I was hoping he could have got the tyres closer to you. Unfortunately he is not working in the vicinity any time within the next month, so we are back to looking at collection from my house...
  22. Mark (Pugwash) YHM re your mail to me. Mark (Guitarguy) - the 539's are down to you but I will be looking at collection only. From 30/07 through 10/08 I'm out of town. There might be some alternaive options re collection (not delivery unfortunately), but drop me a line and tell me what works best for you and we can take it from there...
  23. Yes Chris, those items are now set aside for you.
  24. I have various gubbins up for sale (including a Petty Strut that was previously fitted to an SV) here. Some other stuff might be of interest to Sprinters (freebie Yoko 539's anyone?)
