  1. Becky - many thanks for your kind offer. I somehow managed to miss your post until now - hence not getting back to you at the time. Managed to get the wife to make a trip to the Post Office, so now sorted....
  2. Hi all - emails sent regarding payments. With the exception of Alastair (who will be collecting the SV tonneau from me), I trust that you now have (or will shortly receive) your goods. The 539 tyres are now available for a donation to NtL and the foam seat will shortly be going in the bin unless Ed or anyone else contacts me to arrange collection.
  3. Hi Jonathan This has jut been bought to my attention - I'm not normally one to lurk in the Bulk Buy area 😬 Anyhow, would be interested in taking 4 units please
  4. Walking along the Stafford Rd out of Wolverhampton a couple of days ago and caught a very quick view of the truck out of the corner of my eye. Now maybe it was just a Union flag that I saw (there are pics on Google showing such a flag) - but I believe that there are a couple of truckers on here I think, so worth a post on the off-chance
  5. Garage has called me to say they have got the old quill out, but on fitting the new one they found that the Angle Drive Adaptor (see here) is damaged. I have ordered a new one from CC Parts but have a bit of a worry about delivery times given we are upon the BH weekend. I'm guessing that this is a Caterham specific part - anyone know if there is anything else I could get from a motor factors that is an equivalent??? Also, purchased a new speed sensor. Could I have got away with just buying the quill - are the quills replaceable??
  6. That sounds ideal - thanks Paul. Next cheeky request - do any of the sprinters (who will be at Curbs this weekend) live in Bristol? I have a hood bag that a club member would like to buy, but because of logistics and time constraints on my part I just cannot get to a post office to send. If there is anyone who lives in Brizzle and and would be prepared to take said item home I could arrange for collection.
  7. Many thanks Mark. Expecting to be turning up about 12.00pm or thereabouts.....
  8. Hi First of all, am I right in presuming that some of you will be running @ Curbs this Sat and Sun? If so, could one of you kind souls take delivery of some items (from me) on Saturday so that they can be collected by others over the weekend? No cash involved and any loss / damage would be at my risk. Expecting there to be a pair of dollies (fnar fnar) for Mav, one or two tonneau, a full hood and maybe a hood bag. As an aside, there are a couple of unsold bits that *might* be of use to sprinters - here
  9. Guys - apologies for delay in getting back to you. Mad busy at work and on a personal level as I try to get loads of things sorted (including the Caterham) prior to France touring holiday. Clive and Rich - emails sent. Al - how does £60 sound for the SV tonneau? Liam - I will email you shortly re the S3 hood. Mav - will contact you shortly re delivery of dollies Ed - are you passing on the foam seat?
  10. Contacted Mav re dollies. Rich - the hood bag is in good condition. Stitching complete, interior clean, zip in perfect working order. Ed - I could bubble wrap the foam seat, but I'm not sure how it would stand up to courier 'careful handling'. Do you know of any sprinters in your area who could pick it up for you from Curborough? Would hate for you to splash out on postage, only to receive it in bits! Stu / Clive - the S3 tonneau is off a 52 plate ex-Academy car (Safety Devices, diagonal cage). So, my understanding is the chassis would still be imperial at that stage, but not 100%. Looking at other sales, wondering how £85 sounds? First dibs to Stu, with the same offer to Clive if Stu decides not to proceed. Al, I've been contacted off list and advised to keep the tonneau for sale with the car. Not decided yet - will update you as soon as I've pondered for a while.... Liam, will be in touch shortly re the S3 hood. Edited by - Blokko on 19 Aug 2013 21:59:29
  11. Looking as far as possible to avoid the hassle of packaging / posting, so I'm hoping that any purchases can be collected from Curborough / passed on via GONADS over the weekend of 24/25 August. Alternatively, collection from my workplace near Wolverhampton at other times is another option. Failing that, any sale would be plus p+p at cost. Priority given to club members (i.e. those that can post here rather than sending me a PM) Set of 4 Yoko A539 tyres (185/60 r13). 3 @ 4mm tread approx and one with a bit less (few laps round Donny) - £35 Now going for a donation to NtL Drivers side foam seat for S3 (lowered floor). Free of charge (collection only) - still available, but will shortly be going in the bin unless someone contacts me re collection S3 hood bag - £45 SOLD 2 car dollies – just like these - £35 SOLD S3 tonneau. Has the pockets for Tillett seats and a flap for a Petty strut as well as being shaped to pass around an offside intrusion bar and the cage near the dash - £85 SOLD S3 full hood SOLD SV tonneau – Unlike the item above, this doesn't have the pockets for the seats or the flap for the Petty Strut, cage etc. With Alastair re payment and collection Edited by - Blokko on 27 Aug 2013 22:38:24
  12. M40 Southbound about 08.25am today. Near J7 IIRC,
  13. M40 north bound about 8.40 this am - just south of the Bicester area. Two-up with Peltors, yellow SV03 ROY. Followed you for a few miles as I made my way back to the Midlands
  14. Thanks all. About to go off on travel with work for a couple of weeks - will pick up on this upon my return....
  15. Got a garage local to work to look at replacing my speedo sensor on the Ford Type 9 gearbox fitted to my SV. They have reported that the quill has broken too far into the gearbox and cannot be removed without dropping the engine / gearbox. Any thoughts as to if / how this could be done without going to those lengths?
  16. So when you answer "Rover K" to the usual "what's under the bonnet then" you normally get HGF mentioned in the next sentence of two. The guy at the place where I get the 7 MoT'd has mentioned in the past a 'better' head gasket that was fitted to his bosses LR Freeloader after HGF. By chance the same subject cropped up in conversations a couple of times last night at a BBQ (I rocked up in the 7 😬). The one guy I was talking to is an ex Ralliart mechanic and he specifically mentioned HKS gaskets. So, what does the massed throng of BC K Series experience and expertise have to say about a precautionary head gasket replacement? Is HGF rare enough that you just take the chance, or is it worth shelling out some £££ now to get a gasket fitted that should eliminate (or greatly reduce) the chance of HGF 🤔
  17. Call to CC parts confirms that 210mm is the correct size for a blade on a CSR / SV. Email sent out to original owner of the car - maybe he can shed some light on the situation....
  18. Wondering whether these wiper blades have been sourced from somewhere other than Caterham then (given the big discrepancy in size)? Will drop a note to the original owner of the car to see if he can shed any light on this....
  19. Will try to find time to give Caterham a call tomorrow. Hopefully it was just a mis-labeled part and they can send me some longer blades out....
  20. Last weekend I ordered some replacement windscreen wipers from Caterham for my new purchase (an SV). When the products arrived they were marked up as CSR / SV, so I removed them from the packaging and set off to the garage. I then found that the supplied blades were about 210mm long, whereas the ones already on there are about 270mm. So, is this a case of the blades being labelled up incorrectly, or is there a separate supplier / source / part for the longer blades?
  21. Working away at the moment, but when I get a chance I'll have a play around with the cable to see if I can at least change the clutch travel.
  22. Started this conversation with Nick Chan at the weekend, but on a very poor line so I was having trouble hearing what he was saying! Anyhow, new purchase has a clutch action whereby my foot is almost off the clutch before I get any drive. So, does the clutch cable adjust the biting point, or just the travel / position of the clutch pedal? Trying to work out whether a new clutch is imminent or whether there is some life left in the unit yet. Here is what the cable looks like right now - At the other end of the cable only a small part of the thread is into the bellhousing - so I'm presuming that I could wind some of this out (to expose more thread) - which I'm assuming might lower the biting point on the clutch. Am I right here, or missing the mark by miles as usual? 😬
  23. Black wings + cage? If so could have been my old car driven by the new owner (who hails from Halesowen)
  24. Great, thanks Ian. Shall pass on the info
  25. Does that apply to speedo / tacho Ian? Thought it only applied to minor gauges such as fuel / temp?
