  1. KX11ULL spotted in STAMFORD around midday - Yellow with black stripe. It is listed as black and silver - has it been resprayed? Steve
  2. test 2 - iOS 10, iPad Safari bold. Unbold steve
  3. Steve There are wiring diagrams for the CSR on the CSR forum in a sticky in the tech forum. I also attach a photo of my 2007 CSR 260 in case it differs from those in the R400 post. Steve
  4. I love the action of my 6 and don't find the engine too buzzy (70mph = 3500rpm in 6th). With the torque of the 2.3 Duratec I am sure that the 5th gear would be an equally acceptable option as the 6spd allows me to work the gears if i feel like it or just stick it in a gear (any gear rom 2 to 6 will do at road legal speeds) and drive it like an autobox if I don't! Steve
  5. Chris The link in this post still works for me. Steve
  6. Doug - that's the same kit I used. I forgot to say that the whole process of stripping the old stuff off and res praying is really easy and quite quick - you can do it in a few one hour sessions (to allow drying time between coats) The biggest problem was unblocking the spray nozzle which happened once or twice on each seat when spraying the dye. It is also much easier if you have a compressor as the spray cans freeze up. Steve
  7. I have used the restoration kit on my E-Type seats with excellent results. https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Dyes_Restoration.php For the before and after shots, see here. You may get away with the touch up kit, rather than a full restoration, but it will depend how closely the blacks match Steve

    CSR Oil check

Steve 1) True - the harder you drive, the more it drinks. Mine uses about 0.5l every 1000 miles or half a track day.... 2) See http://csr.informe.com/forum/checking-oil-level-dry-sump-dt27.html?highlight=oil for more info Steve
  9. Saw you pulling out of a car park around 1:30 today. I put my thumb up, but don't think you saw me as I was going the other way. Nice day for a blat! Steve
  10. Spotted in the Lay-by near Grantham on the Southbound A1 around 5pm Thursday 9th. Steve
  11. I now have a pure sinewave inverter 2000W/4000W. It still won't run a compressor, but the other motor driven things run much quieter now. Still looking for a way to get it to work. It is one of the Aldi specials - 2.5Hp or 1.87Kw. I suspect the start up current is too high, but some do seem to run looking at YouTube Steve
  12. Ian B - the Car Builder ones really work! I ordered one when my standard plastic one failed at the MOT. I cleaned the plastic one up to get the car passed rather than wait for the CBS replacement. The plastic one is still in there 6 years later.... Steve
  13. 2cv you need one of these (or similar) from an old rc car. They never use them now because the electronic controllers are so much better and reliable. I may have one I took off an old car when I upgraded it. I'll have a look when I next go to my lockup. Steve http://www.tamiyaclub.com/pictureframe.asp?t=n&id=img16134_2A1TG_1.jpg I think the 200 ohm resistor is too big. The variable resistors are basically just wound wire.
  14. I saw 110 Octane on one of the pumps when I filled up at Lake Havasu in the US. Never knew you could go that high before I saw it. I presume is is mainly used for the powerboats on the lake. Steve
  15. I have a CSR260 - it uses about 1/2 litre per 1000 miles, or 1 Litre on a normal track day. They are thirsty under load! Steve
  16. Phil I don't remember using longer poppers unless they came with the kit from CC - I don't think they did Steve
  17. Phil Yes, you will need to drill though the strengthening strip. Hold on tight if you don't want the drill to wander. A bench drill is best if you have one. The poppers go straight through the skin - no need to find a chassis rail. I used the inside popper with a strap, mainly to hold the screen tight to the chassis and stop splashes coming in off the stone guards. You should have some lift-a-dot popper to stop the front edge unpopping at speed. The dot goes towards the front Steve
  18. DJones Yes, my SV aeroscreen fits my CSR fine. Steve
  19. It disappears for me when I get logged out... Are you logged in? Steve
  20. If you fit the smaller headlights, don't forget to turn them through 180 degrees to get the full aero benefit. Steve
  21. Lots of useful CSR stuff here including the wiring diagrams. Steve
  22. JonL if you have a kill switch then the bracket avoids the risk of shorting a spanner out on the live cable under the scuttle. It only takes a moment to weld one to the chassis! Steve
  23. My door used to work well until I had a replacement skin and wheel arch. The arch isn't quite in the same place so the door now blows in. Shortening the fixing strap so it is tighter worked for me. Steve
