  1. I've had Millwood protectors on for about 6000 miles and they do have chips in which I expect on something which is a protector. The wings underneath are fine. Easily fitted with silicone and easy to remove if need be. Don't think there's anything wrong with the quality especially for the money.
  2. I think I have a broken starter in the garage. If so it is complete so the bolts should be there. Do you want the whole thing? Steve
  3. Following the article in Low Flying last year here is a link for all the enthusiasts in L7C to have a nice jaunt around the counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. Scenery is great, quiet roads and it's bound to be excellent weather. Cakes etc at the end and raise money for good causes into the bargain. http://www.echelon-cycles.co.uk/challenge_ride.html

  6. Hi, I'm in Gloucestershire and fitted an Eliseparts one to my VVC car. It works well and requires only a little extra plumbing and removal of the original stat. I used a two outlet submarine pipe as fitted to I think Vauxhall 7's and supplied by CC to facilitate the stat bypass and filler hoses. With a Radtec radiator it runs at a steady indicated 82deg in all conditions. Are you looking to use the QED item? Cheers, Steve
  7. Thanks for the link. Ors has drop bars front and bar end shifters so looks a bit different to that one. Cheers,
  8. Thanks Alan, Best regards, Steve
  9. Foxy, The wheel tyre combo is XT hubs (36 hole) with Mavic X719 rims and Panaracer Hi Road 26x1.5 tyres. It's got mountings for panniers but we've never used it for touring so have no racks or panniers. If you want nay more info give me a call on 07931 845918 or drop me an e mail to s.millard774@btinternet.com Cheers, Steve
  10. Thorn Adventure Tandem. Excellent condition Reynolds 531 tandem tubing, metallic orange custom colour. LX gears (27), front suits 5'6' - 6'0", rear 5'2" to 5'8". Cost new was £1995, so a bargain at £995. Not used for a year so it seems time to let someone else enjoy this high quality piece of kit. Full spec and Photos available by email on request.
  11. Hi, I fitted mine with silicone sealant. neen on for 6 months now and no movement. You should be able to peel them off if the need arises. Cheers, Steve Glos.
  12. Hi Piers, Not sure if these are the size you have fitted. I will almost certainly have 4 part worn 195/45-15 CR500's for sale shortly. Tread depth is 2 tyres @ 4mm & 2 tyres @ 5mm. Looking for £150 for the set if collected. There are no vibration issues with these tyres and I don't believe it's a common issue with the CR500.
  13. I have a standard one which was recently reconditioned. Doesn't leak and is in excellent condition. I am on Glos/Worcs borders.
  14. Would it not be feasible to drop the sump and fit the helicoil?
  15. The 195/45-15 CR500's will soon be up for replacement. Car is used mainly on the road but with a few track days. Has anyone got a comparison between the 500 and R1R tyres from Toyo (195/50-15)? Might even put T1R on due to the very attractive price. Any info happily received. Cheers, Steve
  16. I need a pair of the top collars to convert standard (1.9inch) to the larger dia green springs. Not urgent as car is now back together after realizing the different diameters used. If no luck will order from Millwood next week. Edited by - micksmetafors on 28 May 2010 07:59:04
  17. Hi Dave, Do you still have the rear dampers. If they are for the under de dion tube mounting (I think they will be ) can you let me know and I'll give you a call or mail re condition. Not too bothered about the springs but they might come in useful. Thanks, Steve
  18. As far as I can see the S3 and SV dampers are dimensionally the same. The Caterham on line store only lists S3 and Live axle with the CSR having different dampers. Check the length of the unit extended and closed to confirm.
  19. I've just fitted a 4-2-1 Powerspeed and did it slightly differently. I fixed all 4 primaries to a block of wood to simulate the manifold as it would be on the head. I measured the the position on the primaries for the point they would pass thru the sideskin. Then created a template at that distance around the 4 pipes. From passing a pipe (not sure which one now) thru the original round hole it is then easy to position the template and draw the lines onto the masking taped area. I drilled a series of holes (3mm) and joined them up with a junior hacksaw blade before lightly grinding the opening smooth. Not sure if this was slightly quicker than one pipe at a time (took about 3 hours in total) plus the rigmarole of water rail etc.
  20. Thanks for the info, I'll give him a try. Steve
  21. I have tacho which has lost it's damping. Does anyone have repair contacts? I would buy a new one but my dials are the subtle yellow variety and they don't appear on CC's site.. Thanks for any help. Steve
  22. I sold the parts to Nifty and there is absolutely no problem with any of them. I only took them off as I dry sumped my engine. Rgds., Steve
  23. Griff, I had a similar experience. Oily said that the bolt hadn't been doen up tight enough. The "key" on the lower cam belt pulley is pretty small and may be damaged. In my case a used pulley, bolt and damper sorted the problem. There was no cam timing movement on my engine and no damage to it either. What oil ysstem are you running, mine was Caterham scavenge and Rover intenal pump with a Brise tank. All was well afterwards.
  24. 1 1997 4-1 (Collector in body with single exit pipe & integral catalyst). This is the standard piece of plumbing which CC supply. Would be Ok for SVA build up if you want to buy a 4-2-1without Cat for tuning in the future etc. Was working fine at last MoT but now don't have a 7 so it's never going to be needed. Buyer collects from Gloucestershire. Best donation to NtL gets it. Est value £40

I have two in metallic Clio Williams blue and don't think they're drilled. I'll check in the next day or so. How does £10 each sound. rather see them both go if possible. Steve. Gloucestershire
