  1. If you have two lambda sensors and remove the cat a MIL light fault should show. There are people who sell what looks like a piece of wire to fool the ECU into thinking that a cat is present and working. I haven't any experience of them but am told they work. I think Elise parts sell them and others I'm sure.
  2. Thinking about it, have you considered the accusump system, it moght do the same at much less cost. Cheers, Steve
  3. No prblem, email off line will be easiest. Cheers, Steve
  4. Daveley I did mine (dry sumped the VVC) last year (sold the car now) and it sorted out the oil surge. For some reason the VVC engined car suffered oil surge far worse than a normal type engine on same car set up. I can only presume it hangs onto it's oil at the top of the engine somehow but overfilling didn't help. I did an article in low flying with the mods to the kit like lowering the right hand engine mounting, grinding the pump cradle, lowering the column etc. I used the Caterham scavenge pump and a Brise tank and had no problem with oil temps or pressures on track or off.
  5. If it's sidewall it can still be repaired by means of a major repair. They can check for run flat damage. I had a A021 done by Stone Tyres a couple of years ago and it was fine, cost about £15 if I remember rightly.
  6. I've got spare front you can have. Give me a call on 07968 307611. Gloucestershire Steve
  7. Try Wicliffe in Gloucester, I think they still do the Rover part.
  8. Sorry, thought it was agood price for the dampers! Thanks anyway, Steve
  9. Cagey, Will these fit a 97 wide track? Are they alloy or steel body? Where are you? Steve
  10. Pete, The only engine I have ever needed to dry sump is the VVC which is now in my car. I guess because it's mounted on a slant at a greater angle than a standard head together with the VVC mechanisms. The old car with a warmed up standard engine, same tyres & driving never oil surged but this VVC was horrific. Since dry sumping I have had no problem. Steve
  11. There are lots of different speedo cables so make sure you get the right one. The ends need to match with the speedohead for shape (check your old one or take speedo out) and the drive shape at the angle drive on the gearbox. Milwood sorted the right one for me but CC should be able to help. best of luck Steve
  12. Left mine for 4 monjths once. Cranked it without plugs in and 2 exhaust valves met their piston cousins. This was a Vauxhall so repair wasn't quite such a pain as a K. Just take the plugs out and turn it by hand slowly to check this. I'm paranoid about this now. Steve
  13. Geoff, When would you like bookings for the Oulton Park date? Steve
  14. if anyone decides to drop out please let me know and I'll buy the place. thanks Steve
  15. No response from the slothful acquaintance yet. Will let you know if and when he comes up with an answer.
  16. A friend around Ross on Wye has a 22% he is looking to change to the 8% item. is yours the mini one or the one with Caterham cast into it? If you're interested I can get his details to you. Steve
  17. Millwood definitely do them. Can save a lot of painting. I think they're normally in stock. They were when I bought mine.
  18. Try KN wheels, i bought 2 of 7 x 13 in silver a couple of months ago. Their number is 01952 614402 Price was £60 each + vat.
  19. Not sure if you need an engine mount (offside) as well. The inletmanifold/plenum join might need to be skimmed down to get under the bonnet. Consider a dry sumpset up too if you're going to use it on track as I had a lot of oil surge no matter what level was in the sump. Good engine when it's done though.
  20. No problem, email to sandc.millard@tesco.net with your name and address please. is it the yellow brick road? Rgds.,steve
  21. Hi, Looks like he wants them. Can you confirm the fullpulled out length of the belt please. Then he can be certain they'll do the job. Also i take it these mount on a vertical face rther than horizontal? Thanks
  22. Thanks, I'll tell him and get back to you.
  23. Thanks for the reply. I'll check with the MGA man in Holland. How much would you like for them? Steve

  25. Alex, I used to run Avon A9's in the modsports days but don't run them in anyhting other than wet conditions. 2-3 laps in the drying/dry and they've had it. fantastically quick warm up though.
