  1. Angus Well worth heating gently with a hair dryer (I'm sure you have one) to stretch the cover - especially if doing it on a cold Spring day. Then, when it cools the cover will be as taut as a taut thing - to coin a phrase 😬 C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'

  3. I don't think you can get the old standard rad anymore. So why not keep the existing one til it leaks and then take the nice ally one out the garage and replace it? As you say, you are hardly likely to notice the weight difference ❗ C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  4. BOSS Had the same trouble last year. Car was with James Whiting who said he had not come across this problem before and he had one made up locally by a chap he knows! Sorry, doesn't really answer your question or help very much in France - but you could call James and see if he could get one made for you if you can't source it anywhere else. 5. Simon R I am not sure what the relevance of bhp is to tyre choice I was running 032s on a 1.6SS but can't get them any more so I have just switched to 048s which now seem to be the tyre of choice for a lot of people. Haven't done enough miles to comment on performance yet though C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  6. Mine are at 18 - but I might reduce the fronts to 16/17 when I have tried them out C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  7. So I don't need to reorganise my flights then ☹️ And I was just getting (over)excited 😳 Probably a good decision Tony C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'

  11. Neil Are we at the deposit paying stage yet? I am in SA but will be back on 10 April. Can it wait until then? C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  12. So what did it fail the MOT on then Den? Nothing serious I hope? C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  13. Could be the sender gasket. I was told by james Whiting that the caterham design is faulty - he has designed his own. Had mine replaced but needs tank taken out. The fuel pipe from the tank to the pump had also perished but this should not be the case on a 1 year old car. C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'

  19. I'm pretty sure Brent went for the BGH 5 speed in his. I think the perceived wisdom is such that the engine has generous torque thus effectively rendering the 6 speed unecessary - certainly for mainly road use. C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
  20. Agree with the above on pressures - but in cold winter weather (like you've got now) it might be wise to increase that a tad - or at least get some heat in the tyres before pushing the limits C7 GON - There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'
