  1. Echo all of the above. Photo diary of disassembly is really usefull. Lables are a must. But really it is not that difficult. But it'll take you longer than you think it will.
  2. Better get me welder out. I can see a market for dummy Cats springing up 😬 😬 RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here

  4. Alex, neat solution. I would seriously consider this, I have only on eproblem. I fitted peshrod suspension. Now there is Knowhere to put the air feed. 😔 next move has to be a rear exhaust. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  5. Leave it alone. In now works. 😬 My winter upgrade to my self is self control, so I get a car that works next spring 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here

I might not do sunday morning. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  7. As I said Let 'em in. But why does our club have this insistance on the FIA Bar? Ok Yes it is safer than the standard bar, no doubt, but it's still of little use if your head is above it, which I can assure you plenty in our club are. I was very close myself until i fitted a lowered floor. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here

Taffy, if all else fails, give Joachim a ring a MOG racing. He usually has plenty of spares kicking around. Meet ya thursday if you are coming to the Piersfield. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  9. Dave I got my old fiber glass front and rears arches in red. Any good for you?? RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  10. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest.( although for reasons I will not bore you with, I haven't sprinted this year) Why can't they run in the normal classes 🤔 Ok so at faster venues they might be a little quicker top speed, but they are heavier so have bigger braking distances and are slower in acceleration.
  11. Nice one darren. Glad It's worked out for you in the end. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  12. Nope. Got more legroom with my lowered floor. Also more Knee room. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here

more power required, or take the screen off and go cammando aero.
  14. Got eibach on my Nitrons. Seems pretty good. If you want to try some 300lbs springs on the front I have a set you can try out. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  15. I think Julian you must take into consideration that the suspension design is as old as the car and that in the early days the ride height were higher due to taller profile tyres.Up until quite recently most of the caterham who ran 13" wheels and tyres ran 185 70 profile. They also ran 14" wheels with 185 60. these are much taller wheels /tyre combos, thus giving higher ride hights. Now ofcourse tyre sizes are very limited in 13", and I do not know about you but I do not think the caterham suits 15" wheels and low profile tyres very well(sorry). RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  16. Julian, what He did was to make a rocker that fitted to the top mount, he brought the damper out about 20-30 mm and then tied the inside of the rocker, which was inside the chassis down to the lower wishbone mount with a metal bar IYSWIM. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  17. Julian, yes that is what they usually say, but the cr500 175/50 is a very low profile tyre, and lowers your ride height from say a185 60 048 buy about 20 mm. Indeed I have seen the top mount mod that you mention done. It would decrese the falling rate of the spring. One of the sprinters,Tony Abbitellio had done it. He was going to do it for me , but I went pushrod instead. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  18. What static ride height are you running. (sump clearance.) ? Run it too low, and It'll not matter a jot what spring rate you have, you'll smack the sump. FYI my vx ran 300lbs springs at the front and had a 48/52 front /rear weight balance with me in it. Total weight with me 647kgs. Difficult to compare now as I have put pushrod on the front. New front springs are 250 but the front of the car is stiffer but does not use ARB. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  19. I hear that r888 softs pretty good. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  20. *eek* Oh eck! sorry I forgot who bought them. 😳 Mind you are acb10's smaller in diameter than 185 60 13 yoko 048's? If so that will not help your problem. One of the reasons I never put my car on CR500's is because the ride height would be too low using the 175/50 fronts I stand to be corrected but I think 6" acb's are about the same diameter as 175 cr500s. Ifthat is the case just wind some more pre load into the spring, it'll lift the front nicely. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  21. I used to run my car as low as 50mm, but found it TOO low for practical road use. NOw I run the car 70mm on the road and ( when I eventually get it back out on track) 55mm on track. Once I had the corner weights done, then it's just a matter of lifting/ lowering each platform the same amount. 41mm sump to floor *eek* that's way too low. What springs are you running with which dampers. 🤔 Nitrons are very good , if a little pricey. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  22. You will gain about 5mm in ground clearance if you are lucky at the front. Other thing to remember that the bell housing is still going to be just about the lowest point. The one advantage with a dry sump is if you wack it and crack it, the oil won't come out untill you stop the engine.( If you put a BIG hole in it then it will) but normally the scavenge pump sucks the oil back to the tank too quickly. 😬 hence dry sump. 23. I have a wheels from a Jag F1 car at home. If you felt the weight of it, I think you would struggle to make a CF one any lighter. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
