    Garage sale

Hi Neil, I'm a bit late to the party here but do you still have the anti roll bars available? Have sent pm as well. Peter B.
  2. Hi Englishmaninwales Thank you for your helpful information. Much appreciated . Peter
  3. Hi Ian Thanks for your reply. I was just doing some research but Englishmaninwales has very kindly confirmed in detail that these standard 1400 K parts aren't suitable for the Supersport. Good luck with your sale. Peter
  4. Ian I'm potentially interested in the ECU and throttle body if they would suit a 1.4 Supersport; can you confirm? Also, do you have prices in mind? Peter
  5. Simon Thanks for the photos. Email sent. Peter
  6. 94k ! Is that a 7 record?! My mileage is still in the mid-20's! Time is certainly an enemy, but salt probably a worse one. It all makes blat opportunities so few and far between over these months, it's not worth the tax...
  7. Jacket now sold to Kingsley pending payment/despatch.
  8. Hi Ian. Yes, I still have the 7 although it is currently on SORN. Will probably re-tax from April (unless March becomes more spring-like in the meantime!) You never know, I may even try and join a blat or two this year...at the very least I must drive it more! I suspect you are still using yours 365? I trust you and Sue are both keeping well. Peter
  9. Original all-metal S3 radiator complete with original Spall fan and 92/87 degree switch. Removed from my 1996 1.4 K-Series Roadsport when I upgraded to an aluminium rad. The radiator had been repaired in the past but was watertight when removed. Generally good condition. Photos available - message me. Looking for £50. Collection preferred or may post at cost. If interested, please message me as well as reply on here. Cheers Peter
  10. Pair of S3 rear spring/damper units with adjustable platforms. Part nos. - Entire unit combo: CC no. 75531ASL Eibach Springs: CC no. 71198. Eibach no. 32/04 - black std/prog. Bilstein Dampers: CC no. 75527 (same as 75531). Bilstein no. 2904B36 2170M2They are listed by Caterham as “2003 onwards” but fit S3 cars back to 1996 (maybe earlier - would need to check). They were on my 1996 Roadsport until I further upgraded. Good condition. No leaks, weeping or corrosion. Lots of photos available - message me. New cost from Caterham Parts currently total £524.16 the pair! Here - https://caterhamparts.co.uk/dampers/675-rear-springdamper-assembly-2003-onwards.html?search_query=75531&results=3 I'm looking for £150 for the complete pair. Collection preferred or may post at cost. If interested, please message me as well as posting on here. Cheers Peter
  11. This jacket is still available and could be suited to the current "Beast from the East" weather conditions (even if a Seven itself is not so-suited!) Open to offers as need space in our coats cupboard... If interested, please send a message as well as posting as I'm not often online here. Peter
  12. My '96 1.4 SS had the foam in when I bought it in 2007 and I replaced later that year and in 2010 without any problems being experienced; the foam was completely intact on both occasions, just a little stained and a bit hardened where it had been compressed by the fixings. I duly went to replace it again in 2013 and was horrified to find it substantially disintegrated and virtually completely blocking the oil pick-up. The "uncharacteristic" oil pressure readings that I had been experiencing - which I had put down to instrument/electrical issues (the water temp also having been erratic) - were thereby graphically explained. The clean-up process was necessarily painstaking and very laborious, with the nagging worry that finer particles were still likely to be in the oil-ways. Needless to say, I did not replace the foam and followed the sump gasket modification detailed elsewhere on this site. I have run the car without foam ever since and have had no apparent problems. However, I must also mention that I have not taken the car on track in recent years. An Apollo tank is also fitted (installed in 2009). A further point to mention is that the engine suffered head gasket failure in 2011. It was not a sudden, catastrophic failure but rather, it seems, a partial failure worsening over an extended period of time. I believe I have read elsewhere on here in the past that other foam disintegration experiences have coincided with HGF. Equally, however, there are others where there has been no apparent hint of HGF. The type of oil used has also been suggested as a factor but, in my case, this will not have applied - it has always been the recommended Comma Motorsport oil. Annual replacement of the foam may be the answer, on the basis that it reduces the period over which the foam could potentially deteriorate and disintegrate. Personally, however, every oil change becoming a sump-off job is too much of a pain in the @ss to contemplate. Having said this, Stephen's (L7 FST) comments are worthy of note and I may think differently if I were to take the car on track days again in the future.
  13. Hardly worn and in excellent condition. It was always a little on the large side for me but is now far too big following a cycling-related loss of weight! I would say ideal for someone with a 44"/46" chest, although potentially larger depending on thickness of underlayers worn with it (the actual internal measurement at the chest is 50"). Dark grey and black outer with light grey quilted lining Embroidered 7 Club Logo on chest and club name on back Waterproof & windproof "softshell" outer. Full length, two-way zip, with storm-flap Adjuster cords at waist and collar Fully-lined, adjustable hood concealed in collar. Numerous pockets, inside and out Removable seat-pad in zipped rear compartment 3M Scotchlite reflective detail 100% Polyester "AZO free" materialsPhotos available via email. £30 plus postage at cost or collect from Sevenoaks. Please message me as well as posting here if interested. Cheers Peter

    Odds and Ends

Hi Rycliff Thanks for taking the trouble to post your message regarding Erngor/Gordon. As you say, it's highly unlikely that he will be looking on Blatchat any more! Incidentally, my car is very much related to yours - it's no.16 of the 30 1.4 Roadsport LE's produced in 1996, in BRG with yellow noseband. What number is yours? Hope you're enjoying it. Regards Peter
  15. Hi Ian. Yes, back on here after a long break. Still getting used to the new website and everything! Could even be back out for a blat some time in the not too distant future; just need to sort a few routine maintenance jobs (and an old erratic idle/stalling issue - hence the throttle body enquiry...) to bring the car back up to scratch. Hope you and Sue are both keeping well.

Hi Bit late to this one but are any/all of these still available? If so, are they from a 1.4 SS, with the forward-facing intake? Cheers Peter
  17. Hi Bit late on this one but is the throttle body still available? If so, what model of 7 is it from? Does it have a built-in IACV? Can you tell me the part number (I think it would be stamped on the side of the Throttle Position Sensor - probably 3 letters followed by 6 numbers)? Cheers Peter
