  1. I'm pretty sure JDO only deal with mechanical speedos. I'm also pretty sure I've read other threads on here to the effect that the sender can move out of alignment and consequently give erratic readings. Try doing a search on TechTalk. Peter Burt
  2. Has anyone got a spare ticket for Friday GP Practice at Silverstone? Ticket sales closed at 12 noon today *mad* Peter Burt Edited by - pburt on 18 Jun 2009 14:18:40
  3. Post's fine. No, I don't have your address to send the cheque; didn't need it last time. Incidentally, what is happening at Brands on Friday (in case I decide against Silverstone or, more likely, work intervenes but I can take part of the day off)? Peter Burt
  4. Ian, I was planning to go to GP Practice at Silverstone on Friday. I don't think I'm going to be able to get over your way this week. Post, or following week? Peter Burt
  5. Ian, do you mean the cooling fan temperature sender that screws into the top of the radiator as here If so, yes please. £4.00 including postage? PS. Your old FIA roll bar now re-powdercoated and installed for some track-day action! Cheers Peter Burt
  6. A-frame, newly powder-coated at Foremost Coatings and still wrapped. CC Part No. 71194 as per here Includes front bushes, although these are not new. £30 + Postage Peter Burt

    Rad for 1.6 K

I've got a spare standard copper rad. Any good for you? Peter Burt
  8. John Very sorry to learn of your problem. Unfortunately, it does all point to over-revving damage. Hopefully, however, it can be easily solved and you'll have No.15 back to full fitness once again in the very near future. I did in fact get a couple of pictures of our cars forming up for the Top Gear track laps. I'll load them up to picassa when I get chance. You'll also have to join the Kent boys for a Sunday morning blat or two this summer (I think it's going to be a good one Good luck with your diagnosis. Peter Burt
  9. Roger Ok, no worries. Let me know if your other deal falls through. Cheers Peter Burt
  10. John Is yours the white LE no.15? Mine's the BRG/Yellow LE no.16 It sounds like the over-revving and the subsequent noise are more than just coincidence. I would be inclined to get it checked out - compression test and/or endoscope......could be some bent valves in there ☹️ I hope I'm wrong, though. Peter Burt
  11. Roger, Can you post up some pics to show how "scruffy" they are? Also, what size tyres, please? Cheers Peter Burt
  12. Regalia have sold out of large winter jackets. I understand from Malcolm Godfrey that someone has a Large but is looking to swop for a Medium. I could do the swop. Peter Burt
  13. Heavenly7 I see bidding ended today but it seems it did not sell? If still available, would this dash fit a 1996 S3 standard body? Peter Burt
  14. Colin I need 185/70/13's, so I'll have to pass. Thanks for getting back so quickly anyway Colin. Cheers Peter Burt
  15. Colin What size are the CR500s? How worn is "well worn" - a few mm or just barely road legal? Peter Burt

Redline MTL in a 6-speed. Immediate transformation, without making any other changes or adjustments, and still superb after a year+. Peter Burt

    speedo drive

Sounds to me like the sensor could be loose or faulty. Peter Burt
  18. Thanks Richard, I'm sure that will be clear once I get the cam cover off. Cheers Peter Burt
  19. Richard, do you mean that the foam is literally pushed over the bleed pipe so that the pipe is bleeding/breathing into, rather than onto the foam? Is the foam then held position simply by being squashed down when the cam cover is bolted back on? Are the photos supplied by CC really of no use, or could you or someone else email them to me? Thanks for all the responses so far - all helpful stuff and I can feel another trip to Dartford coming on!! Peter Burt
  20. Does any body know where the yellow foam insert goes? According to CC On-line Store, it "fits inside the Oil/Air Cylinder". However, according to the apollo fitting instructions, you "...insert the yellow foam pad into the cam cover". The instructions mention a photo which I don't have (and which according to Angus' & Tessa's website is pretty unclear anyway!) So, does the foam pad go in the cam cover and, if so, where exactly? Thanks in advance for any advice. Peter Burt Edited by - pburt on 7 Apr 2009 23:49:37
  21. CC no longer do the old badge with the "7" through the name. They do the new polished silver type "CATERHAM" - it comes with "X-Power" in orange underneath but this can be omitted when you stick it on. About £10 from memory. Peter Burt
  22. Paul Thanks for mentioning the other threads re hex bits and cut down allens. I had been searching on 1/2" drive which would explain why nothing came up - all the ready-made hex bits seem to be on 3/8" drive. There are clearly some other imperial hex bolts on the car so I may invest in a "set-on-a-rail" Cheers Peter Burt
  23. Chaz Mintex 1144 front, std pads rear Brake fluid should be renewed every 2 years minimum i.e. more frequently if the brakes suffer hard use eg trackdays. Cheers Peter Burt
  24. Nverona No, I think the hex size is 3/8" - having tried it, it's bigger than an 8MM hex but smaller than a 10mm, therefore something around 9mm which is, I think, 3/8" imperial. But where do I buy one *confused* Peter Burt
  25. The top hex bolt appears to be 3/8" Imperial (as confirmed in other threads here). Does anyone know where I can obtain a hex socket (1/2" drive) of such a size? I've searched numerous catalogues and on-line, and drawn a blank so far Peter Burt
