  1. If they're the chrome fronted version you can get K&N filter cleaner.
  2. Bob Jones (BJ Racing engines) recommends 5W 40 Fully synthetic for XE engines.
  3. I got my Titan pump fittings from Think automotive a few years back, I did however provide a pattern. And they made me up a nice girly braided one n' all. Neil
  4. I have a brise kidney shape DS tank in front of the radiator as passengers prefer the comfort of a long cock pit its nice and neat & out of the way with a 6ish litre capacity. Alternator exhaust side. Neil
  5. My car was booked in with Dave Singleton at Boss originally but he didn't have MBE software so a few phone calls later by Dave Atspeed came to the rescue (sort off). I trailered the car off to Raleigh Essex to be greeted by for want of a better expression a load of kids taking pictures of my BJ built XE engine. A guy came out whilst I had just unloaded it and proceeded to adjust the carbs to a point where it no longer ran. Somewhat disillusioned I made a call to Steve at Track & Road who had just had a cancellation, so I voted with my feet and took it there who did a fantastic job and would highly recommend them. Would I use Atspeed -NO-

  7. Morning blatchatters Would anyone know if the main 'K' series top & bottom hoses (x3) from the Classic silicone hose manufacturer are the same for a 16V XE? They look remarkably similar in appearance. cheers. Neil
  8. I fitted a DTUK unit to my 160bhp Insignia and even on the highest setting (reputed to be 200bhp) it appeared to make little difference to performance. I sent it back for them to check and they claim it worked fine, I re-fitted and tried it again with the same result. It then broke down ☹️and got towed to Vauxhall to rectify, I haven't got it now and the cars been fine since. DTUK in my experience
  9. KUMHO ECSTA V70A, I use the the soft version (50 tread wear) and they appear to be on a par with 13" CR500's, Proxes etc. No problem at all (as yet) on the road and they hold their own in the damp on track. There is a bit of a problem with cost however at about £120/£130 a corner
  10. General enquiry really, considering fully synthetic for S/C gearbox 🤔
  11. Smith & Allan appear to manufacture just about every type of oil imaginable, has anyone had any experience of any product 🤔
  12. The Brise one would be fine, unfortunately they can't knock one up until May ☹️
  13. Other than Brise is there another manufacturer of the front chassis mounted kidney shaped DS tank in the South East? Cheers Neil
  14. And this one is 'ALLOWED' wheels which will come in handy DOH
  15. Alan, Another thing to check whilst the sump is off is that the oil pick up pipe isn't touching the bottom of the sump pan as mine was and starving the engine of oil hence my top end rattle cheers Neil
  16. I would let Andy look it over before spending hard earned dosh on rollers etc. It may be a service item at fault, plug 🤔 cheers
  17. Have had no problems with Racetech capillary Oil and Water Temp gauges
  18. Sounds a bargain Will you take 5 circa 1970 RCA tubed cctv cameras in part ex
  19. Paul, Thanks for the info, I have DCOE 45's I didn't have time to match the inlet to the head before it went off to 'Track n' Road' judging by your comments I will get the dremmel out! Cheers Neil
  20. Paul, Was it a case of matching the standard CC inlet manifold to the head or use an alternative inlet manifold that makes all the difference? cheers Neil
  21. Matt, Is the crane similar to the CHC 1000 DF? i.e. Legs have pins and not bolts etc. Any chance of piccies, and were abouts in London? Cheers Neil
  22. If its grip your after KUMHO ECSTA V70A. Great grip in the dry and damp on road and on track. Come in various softness (mine are 50's). Not so go on your pocket though. I dont use my car much so wear isnt a problem for me.
  23. R300 AAA on Saturday.
  24. Bryn, Mine did the self same thing used to rattle its 🙆🏻 off, I changed all the followers and it still did it (but did go quite after a while) what I found was the oil pick up pipe touching the bottom of the sump pan, the oil pressure remained good cos its measured at the bottom & not the top of the engine, bent the pipe up off the bottom of the sump pan problem gone, hope this helps Neil
