  2. Exactly the same happened to my sons car, this is a common fault for just this model year, fortunately his just needed the camshaft with no damage to the head etc Vauxhall were not prepared to listen 😔 Main dealers always seem to have stock of the parts..........just in case Martin
  3. I couldn't find the V2 helmets at Autosport There were 2 other "budget" helmets there, MSE had a few and Playskool had 2 ranges, both £139 which I would think were averagely sized. Martin
  4. I'm sure both are 6.5 inches wide A Minilite copy or the old Weller steel wheel may be available in a narrow width 🤔 The tyre would have to be narrow to cut into the ice/snow with the limited weight, perhaps you need to order some of Daves pies 😬 Martin
  5. Too stingy *eek* 😬 I wonder if the Mrs found out
  6. We counted 121 arrivals at Brooklands with the cars going straight there A great gathering Martin
  7. That would be Angus.....no the other one 😬 Nice car Martin
  8. Silver for me then Chris Ta Martin Surrey AR/AO

  10. Chris Glad your back ok Just basic kit for me, probably in black but would you mind finding out how much extra for silver (to match the van and enable me to use/claim for business too) No expert in euros, probably plastic will give come back if any problems, or Paypal 🤔 No idea on delivery times but could bring to Curbs in August if timescale worked. Cheers for organising this Martin Surrey AR/AO

  12. Cheers Will Unfortunately he is only average height and too old to sleep with his feet in a growbag Not enough toys now Will, does SWMBO tell you what to do all the time *nono* Man or Mouse Go on buy another 7 Martin Surrey AR/AO
  13. Yes I know they are as rare as hens teeth but no harm in asking for a club member friend who doesn't do t'internet. Ta Martin Surrey AR/AO
  14. Ta for the replies See 2-300 rpm when cranking if I try to explain in a little more detail. The other engine was originally from my car, I bought and installed another engine, with the old engine being sold on which my friend is now installing in another car. I ran the new engine with the map from the original engine for a while so I know it should work. The new map for my new engine is now installed in both ecus, both engines are running standard EU2 single coil. If there is a config file where would I find this ? I adjusted throttle pots and checked immobiliser disarmed. Sure I checked single coil too. Crank sensor should be same on both as one map on my ecu worked for both engines or is my logic flawed. Martin
  15. A friend is having problems installing an Emerald ECU and a new engine into a 7 We have tried connecting my M3DK ECU to his installation without success, no spark. The installation has a newer K3 ECU fitted which doesn't work either. I brought both ECUs back to my car, my ecu started when connected in my car but the newer K3 would not. I have installed the same map in both ecu which is the earlier fig type but showing as loaded on both. All EU2 engines and ignition though the other installation is in an EU3 car. The really puzzling points are that in the other instal my older ecu produced no spark yet the newer ecu did, both with exactly the same map installed. In the other instal my ecu allowed the car to turn over freely with no spark though the newer ecu produced a spark yet the engine laboured when turning over as if the ignition was miles out. Any help gratefully received Hope this makes sense as its a little late now 😳 Martin Edited by - Martin B on 9 Jul 2009 00:10:57
  16. Chris Being a sucker for a bargain please count me in if you get to 10 Not sure if the timescale would work but it's not too late to ask Tony for a little space in the Low Flying out on beginning of August, may help increase numbers Martin Surrey AR/AO
  17. Jeremy Can I just clarify we weren't hoping to sneak in to a school prom, just carrying some young men who were invited 😬 Though Mark tried to take a teacher away with him, fortunately (for her) she wouldnt fit. Martin
  18. Will No problem using the old photos What on earth are you doing old boy A gin palace before your Caterham you must have aged 😬 😬 Martin Surrey AR/AO
  19. I have always found 888s a little skittish to start with, needs about 100 miles of use for the release agent to be worn off, then they are superb Martin Surrey AR/AO
  20. I presume you mean a wet sump pan, if so I have one sitting in my garage. Send me a blatmail with your email address and i'll send you a photo. Martin Surrey AR/AO
  21. and make sure you have an rcd to protect the circuit Martin Surrey AR/AO
  22. Ian Did you ever receive the photo 🤔 Martin
  23. I have used the CSR wing stays sold by 7 Tweeks and Rif carbon wings which get the wing very close to the tyre With this combo you couldn't use Toyo/Yoko 205s as front tyres, with the 60 profile they are too tall. The 215 Kumho just fits underneath but you would need to be careful with wheel offsets. Martin Surrey AR/AO
  24. Our fearless Comp Sec had the ignmony of tasting early season defeat here The ultra competitive Mr Durrant , after attaining 3 penalty points in the final competition was heard to squeal "he hit the cone sir" 😳 Oooooooooooooh look sir he missed that marker sir 😳 😳 The fact I paid them a cheque for over £2000 is completely beside the point 😬 😬 Martin Surrey AR/AO
  25. Hitch up your trousers, it’s your turn to find out if you have the CDX Factor. This year we are running a new competition using Caterhams CDX cars over their established Slalom course. Be the judge, jury and competitor amongst fellow club members. I have negotiated special prices for members of £150 per entrant, a saving of £45. Caterham Cars have agreed to fund a final shootout between the 12 best times set by competitors throughout the year Confirmed Venues and Dates Brands Hatch Wednesday 15th April Elvington Friday 5th June Silverstone Saturday 1st August More Dates and Venues to follow The top 3 in each event will all receive special prizes and there is a treat in store for the overall winner............. Slalom events are always popular, each day runs with 15-24 entrants. The cars are set up to allow you to go wild in a seven around a tight coned circuit. Precision driving skills are required to slip, slide and spin the car through the course in the fastest possible time, the donut cone will be sure to save or embarass you ! Keep an eye on your rivals as cones moved will add vital seconds. The emphasis throughout is on fun and a great chance to drive their Caterhams in a way that would have you arrested on the public roads !! I have also negotiated a special rate of £175 per member for the Caterham Drift Days again using Caterhams CDX cars. Confirmed Venues And Dates Silverstone Saturday 30th May Brands Thursday 18th June Spend the day looking out of the side of the car as you gracefully slide the car around progressively more demanding courses. An orientation and demonstration from our instructors will familiarise you with the cars and you will be taught to steer the car with the throttle. Initially you may find yourself spinning the car as you deliberately provoke power oversteer. You will then learn to kick the tail out and hold the slide by balancing smooth throttle and steering inputs. There are few feelings more satisfying than controlling a drift and the grin factor is simply off the scale. For both events please contact Emma at Caterham South to book.
