  1. Thanks all for the comments and for some messages offering help. The For Sale section has always been for private sales only and the guidelines stated this (and that a price was required amongst others) Unfortunately this "Sticky" post hasn't stuck on the new site, I will ensure it is returned to make this clear to all. Separately we have floated the idea of a "Traders" section where items such as those offered by Ian could be seen but we had parked this while we resolved the initial website problems. In an ideal world an "Advertising Manager" could look at how other sites manage online advertising and offer these extras to existing LF advertisers, in addition we are obviously keen for new LF advertisers !! I just need someone with a little time and expertise to establish what is possible and how to move this forward. Whilst our housekeeping has been thorough other forms of income are always worthwhile. (now where's the scrooge emoticon ) I do need someone able and willing to look after this moving forward as our existing resources are somewhat stretched. Martin
  2. I do agree it would be in our interest to allow some suppliers advertising on here. I just need someone prepared to put in a little time and effort in working a way how.........so if anyone can offer a little help with club advertising please send me a mail. Martin
  3. Lowflying wins Classic & Sportscar Award for Club Magazine Of The Year 2014I am delighted to announce we have beaten off some heavyweight competition, including 40 alternative offerings from the likes of Porsche Club GB, TVRCC, Series 1 Landrover Club and the runners up entry from Bristol Car Club. This is our club magazine and the recognition shows how we have all helped contribute in some way. Historically Tony Pashley deserves great praise for consistently producing a quality monthly product, however Michael Calvert as Editor and Paul Sander as Designer have conspired to increase the diversity of content, subtly change the look and feel and most importantly actively source more stories from all of you. Michael has travelled far and wide to obtain a wide variety of topics which are expertly written, collated and illustrated to give us our essential monthly read. I must also mention the undoubted hard work and help given by John Aston who regularly provides us with varied prose each month enticing us to raid the bookstore, drive to far flung places in search of the perfect road & interview the wise and willing. For them to receive rightful praise from their peers is especially welcoming. As the winter approaches please don't forget to contact Michael with news of upcoming events you think we may all like to hear about, or send him words & pictures of this years exploits and tales of winter upgrades, we have set the bar high now so lets aim for a repeat prize next year, Michael is happy to turn the amateurish witterings we give him into quality copy so please give him a try. Congratulations, Martin

  14. Quoting Violet Elizabeth: Can't speak for their work, but Tech 7 were a bit .... spiky. Maybe caught them on a bad day. 2014 dates

Hi All Merrick is having a little difficulty posting on here Just to confirm we are running our first track day of 2014 at Cadwell on Monday 19th May Booking form will be available shortly Martin
  18. Quoting andy_h: Lighting circuits can be on the RCD side as with a TT supply (overhead lines) but it does cause nuance tripping when a bulb blows. Don't worry if the lighting circuits are not on RCD, they don't have to be. Pedant Mode On According to BS7671 they do these days Pedant Mode Off 😬

    Goodbye from Me

Big Thanks from me too Geoff You have allowed so many members to take their first steps on track and kept the club days suitable for so many different levels of experience, they always run so seamlessly due to your hard work, Hethel was a new venue which took so much work to bring into the calendar, time you freely gave even having sold your 7 Top Man If anyone is interested in continuing the clubs trackday programme please contact myself or Geoff Martin
  20. Andy Noble & Tim Ward have set up Sevens & Classics, popped down for a chat a couple of weeks back, they are hoping to offer servicing, upgrades etc, there is a paint shop on site run by a chap restoring E types. He promised he would advertise in Low Flying. Martin
