  1. Paul: I've got one or two you're welcome to borrow, unfortuntely I'm not so close to Derby & have no plans to venture that way in the foreseable future. But if you get desperate.........
  2. MGB533 & MGB535 both fit the standard front caliper. MGB535 has a slightly larger friction area which is a good thing, but if you are switching to MGB535 from MGB533 you need to have new or almost new front discs otherwise you'll have part of your new pads running on the rusty part of your old discs which is a bad thing. The full code for the pad with Mintex M1144 friction material is: MGB533 M1144 or MGB535M1144 The shape code for the standard rear pads is MDB1287. Do a search on TechTalk for the best rear friction material to go with M1144 fronts, there has been a lot of debate on this subject......... Edit: Damn! beaten by Roadsports06, ah well, at least we agree! Edited by - Mark Gregory on 2 Sep 2009 17:45:51
  3. Not sure about cheap P&P to Belgium, but I've always found Questmead (T: 01706 860088) to be very good.
  4. Stop being so picky Roger My Classic Grad was a crossflow back in 2004 & there was one other racing then. Are there any crossflows in this year's field? Anyway, the crossflow did not have an Apollo tank either.
  5. No! Next question? To elaborate a little, all Classic Grads race cars are VX1600s, to my knowledge none of them run an Apollo tank (or dry sump). All the K-series Supers & most Megas run Apollo tanks (a few Megas are dry sump). HTH, Mark
  6. SM7 Have a read of this I would go for new discs which are only £15 or so. What pads are you using or is that a race secret? HTH, Mark
  7. Paul A: You went to school at a water tower? - weird.......
  8. I don't know the car or driver, but the spec suggests an ex-race car (Academy/RoadSportsB/RSA): 1. Damage to the rear skin. 2. Forged pistons & uprated valve caps. 3. Battery master switch. 4. Plumbed in fire extinguisher. Nothing wrong with ex-race cars IMHO, provided they are straight. According to this link Simon Parker did the Academy in 2005 (2/3rds down page 2) here Link added. 9. Peter There are two M1144 pad options for the standard front calipers. 1. MGB533M1144 is the 'normal' pad. 2. MGB535M1144 also fits the standard caliper, but it has a larger pad area which is a good thing. Because 535s sweep more of the disc surface you need to have new or almost new discs. As your car is a Sigma I would guess the discs are in pretty good condition. HTH, Mark
  10. I hope Pete East doesn't see this...........
  11. AP Racing proportioning valve - screw type valve Brand new, never fitted. When fitted in the rear brake line allows the rear pressure to be adjusted to prevent the rear brakes locking up. £120 Packing & UK postage included.
  12. Nic: Sorry to hear you missed this, I should have cross referenced to your thread.
  13. These are for sale at the Kenilworth tip (sorry, recycling centre...) Details are: 4 off Yokohama A021 tyres, 185/60R13. The tyres have been used & I did not have a depth gauge to measure the tread depth, but they look virtually new to me. Price is £15 each. Contact: Geoff or Lee on 07792 992506.
  14. Neil has kindly offered to carry 2 of the wheels/tyres, does anyone have space to carry the other 2?
  15. If anyone is going to the BaT track day on Friday 10.10.08 &/or the sprint on Saturday 11.10.08 & has space for four 13" wheels/tyres, please let me know. NTL donation will be made. Thanks, Mark Edited by - Mark Gregory on 8 Oct 2008 22:00:09

  17. Gordon: You could try McMillan MotorSport (T: 01455 239900 Andy McMillan) I believe they had a batch made for the Classic Grads race cars. I think they are providing the technical support for Le Sept. HTH, Mark
  18. Can I have the headlights please? YHM
  19. I had this game a couple of years ago (2003 Academy car). On my list I've got 1058427 as the old Ford number & F61227557 as the current number. I think I finished up using Caterham UL9U004 which worked a treat.
  20. This happens when using the race rear springs & the corner weights & ride height are set to 'normal' race settings. There is a risk of the upper spring collar falling out when the suspension is at full droop. To prevent this happening the solution is to use a light helper spring & mating collar to take up the slack. Under load the helper spring becomes coilbound & the main spring does all the work. You need to remove some material from the mating collar & upper adjustable platform to prevent interference before the helper spring becomes coilbound. I've not had any experience of it clonking though, but then my car is only used on track. HTH, Mark
