    Action Camera

I am selling my Contour HD GPS video camera here This camera has Blutooth which allows it to connect with a mobile so you can check what you are filming. It has a 135 lense so not as fisheye as the Gopro. Please Google for full details about the camera. The camera comes complete with the original box and several mounts: 2 x goggle mounts 1 x Contour Universal Mount Adapter (tripod) 1 x Contour Rotating flat mount (adhesive) It also has 2 x spare batteries There is a small rectangle of foam glued over the mic on the front of the camera. I’m after £100 for the lot
  2. Can I order another set of brackets please as I like them so much.
  3. Didn't someone test their car on a dyno with both fuels for a comparison. I think I recall reading that the higher octane petrol actually produces slightly less BHP.
  4. Here is a small bit of the video I took. A collection of missed apexes and other bits of poor driving Link to YouTube Edited by - jimh on 5 Jun 2014 14:37:22
  5. Jim, how did you get on track with 104DB? I was black flagged for tripping the noise meters, which i thought were set to 98DB drive by. I was on the limit of 101DB static. Must try some acoustafil myself. Cheers Mike My initial static test was 96 and when I was black flagged I was told I was reading 108 on the drive by. After the repack it was 104 static but I was careful to short shift and keep away from the pit wall I see the official limit is 102 for an evening session so I'm a bit confused as to why I was allowed back out? 6. Oh the ignominy of being black flagged, luckily not for my crap driving though I had been thinking mine was due for repacking so had the Acoustafil with me. I managed to complete the repacking in about half an hour and was very grateful for the help I received. I must remember to pack better gloves next time as working on a hot exhaust is not pleasant. Anyway newly filled can got me down to 104db and hopefully as the Acoustafil expands it will drop a bit more. Also knowing where the noise meters are located helps Thanks to Merrick for a fantastic evening.
  7. Hi Andy, Can you please give me an idea of when my brackets will be available? I'm assuming I'm not in the first batch.
  8. Can I order a pair please. Blatmail already sent. Thanks for organising this.
  9. Not cheap but Autocom do a headset loom for a helmet that takes a 3.5mm headphone (part 2091A). It consists of the 3.5mm socket, their 7 pin plug and a small red socket for a mic. I can't remember if you have to buy the mic separately of if it is included. I use these in my crash helmets with small in ear headphones for track days.
  10. I had my CSR remapped by the two Steve's last year and this year I had trouble getting it through the emissions bit of the MOT. Mine was failing on the lambda but after some fiddling about we got it to pass. I'm hoping to find the time to get Steve to check it over and see if there is anything wrong with the map.

    Windsurfer - free

Alan, I would be delighted to take this off your hands. Can I come and collect it later this week as I'm away until Thursday?
  12. I would also like a pair of these if I'm not too late.

    Wiper Blades

You boys with K series have at least got an intermittent wipe function I believe. They removed it on the sigma's I thought everything was intermittent on a K series

    Wiper Blades

Following something I read on here I tried Rain-X and have been amazed at the results. I did a wet track day at Castel Combe and hardly needed the wipers. I have also found it excellent on the road and now seldom use the wipers at all. It does seem to work best if you keep the speed up though.
  15. Mine suffers a bit with this. I checked that mine had the recall stronger throttle springs fitted and it had. I then tried all three CC maps on it but none of them really cured the problem. I also fitted an extra spring in the pedal box but this really didn't help either so I have now removed it. I finally got mine remapped by the Two Steves and this has made things a lot better. It still does it occasionally but I have learned to drive round the problem mostly. I tend to press the side of my right foot against the footwell. Lots of information from the Two Steves (the one that talks) about this problem when I was having the mapping done.

    Angouleme

Silver CSR 260 with yellow nose band and rear arches parked up in a square. A few other lesser 7's in the area t *wink*oo
  17. I think there have been previous threads covering this very topic. I don't think the carrier is really the main problem for having a spare wheel on a CSR. Apart from the different diameters of the front and rear wheels which could cause the LSD problems. As you have noted you also need a spacer because the fronts are machined to a larger offset. The standard CR500's diameters are 554 and 569 mm 7x 15 et40 - 139mm backspace 9 x 15 et30 - 158mm backspace Previous thread here Edited by - jimh on 4 Aug 2013 17:25:21
  18. Geoff thanks for arranging a brilliant track evening. I really enjoyed my first time at Brands Hatch and must now try the full GP circuit. Great to meet some friendly folk and enjoy courteous driving on track with no red flags to spoil the fun. I think I even managed to impress my teenage daughter a bit with the car's speed, although she did complain that we only managed 130 down the straight. I haven't dared show her mother the video yet.
  19. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 phone for sale. I purchased it sim free and unlocked in August 2011 so it doesn't have any phone company logos etc. It is updated and running the latest official Samsung JB firmware version 4.1.2 It is in good condition and has always been stored in a leather pouch case (SENA UltraSlim Pouch for Samsung Galaxy S2 - Black ) which is included in the sale. It comes with it's original box, charger and unused earphones plus an official Samsung car phone dock. It also has two spare Anker 1900mAh Li-ion batteries and a desk charger which were purchased in November 2012. It has a 2GB micro SD card installed. I'm after £100 for the lot if anyone is interested before I Ebay it. I'm located near Alton in Hampshire if anyone wants to view it.

    CSR Carpets

My CSR came with a lowered drivers floor and standard flat passenger side, which has always annoyed me desire for symmetry. I have a new lowered passenger floor on order but I'm wondering if I will need any new carpets. I know the footwells are different with the lowered floors and I have rubber mats ready for both sides but can someone tell me if I will need to change any of the carpet under the passenger seat or anywhere else?

    Rolex Deepsea

I had no idea these things were so expensive now I paid £220 for my Sea Dweller in 1980 and hardly ever wear it now.

    Rolex Deepsea

Most of the divers I worked with stopped using their Rolex Sea Dwellers and replaced them with cheap Casios and the like for work. The large stainless body of the Rolex was uncomfortable under the cuff of a hot water suit and also used to create a burn mark on your wrist from the hot water. The small digital watches had other advantages too, like you could read the time using it’s light rather than having to hold your wrist out and use your hat light. The dive supervisors always took the piss when you were caught on your hat mounted camera looking at the time during a bell run. The digital watches mostly coped fine with saturation decompression but if the face did lift it was a simple matter to push it back in again. I have seen a couple of Rolex’s pop during decompression when people forgot to open the winder.
  23. Can anyone tell me what size I need to order for the standard Caterham 7" repackable for a CSR? I assume this would be the same size as other Duratec Caterham 7" repackables.

    Mino Trailer

I also investigated what BJ trailers I could get my CSR on and in the end found I needed a Clubman. I took my car to a local trailer hire company and we offered it up to the various models he had in stock so I could physically see the clearance available. Some of the smaller ones were just about possible for the wheels to fit onto the bed but the trailer lights fouled the car rear wheel arches. Possibly later BJ trailers have the lower light clusters that clear the load bed better so this may be resolved. I also thought it would be a real pain trying to get the car on with very little room either side for error.
