  1. Published here. Errors, omissions etc., let me know. (Quietly via a blatmail perefably Shaun). AB
  2. I'm not normally into online petitions, but this one seems a good way of registering that I'd very much like compete at Llys-Vegas hill climb again. A unique and challenging venue. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/restart-llys-y-fran-hillclimb
  3. I've heard cling film can protect a 7, and might be on offer again in Salisbury Sainsburys.
  4. My 0.02p: Class 1 remains closely competitive with ex-Academy or suitable spec lower power 7s of all flavours. Sigmas and K's seem evenly matched. We don't see so many 8v VXs or Xflows now, but all welcome. Class 2 & 3 are now simpler with a 155bhp power limit. Again, Sigmas and Ks are closely matched, plus a Zetec and the occasional Xflow. Class 3 is extremely popular, boosted by some recent defections from class 2. Class 2 run 1A tyres, mostly Yoko A539s. There is a new "List 1C" tyre for the sticky stuff. Class 3 and 4 run 1Bs. Avon ZZS are popular. But I'm not saying any more on THAT subject. For 20k... maybe an ex-academy Sigma or K, with budget to spare and scope to upgrade to 155bhp if and when upgradeitis bites. AB
  5. Fixed. Please please don't tell her and edit your post Shaun!
  6. +1 for me please. [No banana skins in mine this time please]
  7. In the usual place... let me know of errors, omissions, injustices etc. AB
  8. Yes please, as you will be next to me and I haven't got one! (still drying out from last weekend)
  9. Results now in the Competitors area, please shout if you spot any errors.
  10. When it rains at Harewood... it RAINS. Thanks to Roger L for letting me hide under his shelter rather than drown as we waited for the event to be inevitably and rightly abandoned.
  11. Aintree times and scores on the results page. Championship scores updated. As ever, please let me know if you spot any errors. AB
  12. YHM (Edit - likely suit is too small for me so will pass)
  13. My job has involved some "reverse engineering" of other peoples software, which can be a dark art. But Andrew has gone way beyond this. I'm very happy that not only did he help fix my engine (now running very well touch wood, just needs more adjustment to the nut behind the wheel), but that his application was proven to work fully in anger at the rolling road, working alongside the team at Northampton Motorsport. Andrew deserves a knighthood for "Services to the K series community". AB
  14. Curborough 64', split times, and speeds added to results page by popular demand. AB
  15. Revised list including the clubman's entries now in place.
  16. Thanks to all for a great weekend at Curborough. My personal thanks to Maggie Alston and Pat Herring for keeping the scores flowing on the screens. Event scores are now online here: click. Championship updates to follow ASAP. Unfortunately, an error crept in which I spotted when updating the main championship scores. Sam Hayto was indeed the outright the fastest novice on the day, and awarded the trophy – well done Sam, a superb time. However, we score novices based on their performance relative to the class, and on that basis, Ben Williams scored more points and should have been awarded the trophy. Well done Ben for an excellent drive too. I propose that Sam keep the trophy he was presented (even though he has generously already contacted us offering to return it), and we’ll award another trophy to Ben. Ben, if you are at Curborough in August, we’ll present it then – if not, I’ll make sure it finds its way to you. Apologies for the error. As ever, please do contact me if you spot other mistakes, Alan alias "comp scorer"
  17. Yes some good photos at Shotbycurtin.com AB
  18. A great day in the Goodwood sunshine, and good to be back on track. Please find the results on the calendar page or click here: https://www.lotus7.club/sites/default/files/images/users/12678/2021/Goodwood%202021.pdf Please let me know of any mistakes/issues. As this is a new underlying format, there may be some gremlins. Well done to novice Harry Wykes for a class win, and Mike Sankey for a class record. A tricky subject next. Graham "Hill" Howard and Paul "Peter" Collins both wanted a prize, and PB hats and class wins were out of reach. As joint organisers, they were clearly conspiring to take the yellow trowel* in convoy. Graham managed 4 wheels on the beautiful Goodwood lawn, following a 270 spin heading towards the chicane. Seconds later, Paul managed 2x 360's through Woodcote, but only two wheels on the grass. So much for setting an example. So, who gets the trowel for Hethel? I vote for Graham. * an award for "grassy/muddy moments", attached to the winner's car at the next event.
  19. SLR cage, S3, lowered floor, 5'11", and my head is far from it. Soft padding and ballistic goggles on the road.
  20. ATB was fine for me for a few years - the quietness and "fit and forget" is appealing. Certainly behaved like an LSD. 10 years so far with a Titan, and no issues, touch wood. Less than 155 bhp though. No experience of Tracsport.
  21. I enjoyed it a lot. 30 seconds of peril, and hope to go again this year. As Richard says, quite basic facilities, but a stunning place to visit in the sunshine.I camped at Harewood on the way back, and watched a morning of BHC there, which was good and split the journey. I think we are at Barbon with the BHC, and that may be our only event sharing a billing. Good to watch some committed single seaters go up a narrow hill at speed, but of course they do faff about a bit...
  22. Indeed, it looks the lights will go green for events & sufficient "unlocking" for our first event at Goodwood. 73 entries so far, an increase on 2019, and many new as well as familiar names Many thanks to Graham for booking Silverstone for our awards! I'm dreaming of picking up my overall championship trophy already Regarding dual drives... We will will have our normal numbers 5xx for main driver, and 6xx for dual driver. Events tend to run the dual drivers in batches before the main drivers. I need to allocate numbers, and can guess who is "main" and who is "dual" in most cases. However, my employers have trained me not to make any assumptions around age, sex, team strategy, or anything else on such matters. So, please let me know (blatmail or email compscorer@lotus7.club) if I have these right or wrong: Main drivers (5xx): Matt B, Shaun E, Paul B, Jeremy W, Mark A, Ian J, Patrick H, Jon D, Rob C, Nick H Dual drivers (6xx): Chris B, Gill E, Rebecca B, Harry W, Max A, Debbie J, Conrad H, Charlotte J, Laura F, Julia W Alan alias "comp scorer"
  23. Thanks all - will discuss with the garage aiming at metal auto tensioner. Can go manual next time engine comes out (hopefully not soon). Thanks for the offer Regin.
