  1. "Autopilot"? 220 is selected as its 210 "plus a bit" in case a factory 210 on the rollers comes out slightly above 210. We previously had 150 "plus a bit" in class 2/3, and found it better to say 155 full stop.
  2. Click here for (provisional) results. Class 1: Ben Williams Class 2: Clive Marsden Class 3: Rob Jacobs Class 4: Nigel Fox Class 6: Shaun Elwell Class 7: Simon Rogers Edward Lewis Cup: Tony Smith Veterans Championship: Nigel Fox Novice Championship: Ben Williams Ladies Championship: Rebecca Boston Overall Champion: Rob Jacobs As ever, let me know of any errors. I will update and mark as final when the Anglesey results are formally published. AB alias Comp. Scorer.
  3. Here With the final event tomorrow, several classes and trophies remain undecided. Class 1: Paul Boston leads, but a charging Ben Williams has been catching quickly, Class 2: Clive Marsden looks safe, but more importantly will the Comp Sec overhaul the Comp Scorer for the all important 4th place? Class 3: Way too close to call, with Rob Jacobs just ahead of Matt Bramall, and Richard Price just behind (but perhaps needing the spare car tomorrow?) Class 4: Nigel Fox leads, but looking further down the table I see Mike Sankey and Jeremey Davies have yet to complete 7 events and will move up the table tomorrow. Class 6: Shaun Elwell has the class win. Class 7: Simon Rogers has the class win. Ladies: Rebecca Boston has a clear lead and I think uncatchable. Novices: Ben Williams has a clear lead and I think uncatchable. Veterans: Richard Price has a clear lead and I think uncatchable. Edward Lewis Cup: Tony Smith holds the lead, but Jonathan Heyes could still catch him tomorrow. Overall: Rob Jacobs leads, but must win class 3, with several others in with a shout.
  4. Results now confirmed as "official" - a little confusion on the number of runs shown in the "live" and main timing websites. Class 7 is on page 2 of the PDFs - the page break position isn't ideal - I was in a hurry!
  5. I'm advised there was a seventh (!!!) timed run, not included in the provisional results I downloaded. Please consider our Blyton Outer results as "provisional" for now as well. AB
  6. Here Please let me know of any errors. AB
  7. I've withdrawn. Good luck with the garages. Watch out for banana skins. AB
  8. I need to fix some of the "de-highlighting" of dropped scores. And note that the Edward Lewis cup is based on your top 5 scores (isn't too clear on the PDF!. With 4 events to go, there is still all to play for!
  9. To close this: all resolved now. A 4w bulb in parallel fixed the problem, now replaced with a 10w 39 ohm resistor. Alternator tacho LED now functions correctly. Thanks RJ for all advice.
  10. There was definitely some oil on the correct line at Quarry. I found it 3 times.
  11. Thanks Geoff. Was thinking M&S... but now its Waitrose.
  12. Thanks Maggie! Any more? Will be posh biscuits. AB
  13. Hello, I'm looking for volunteers to assist with timekeeping at Curborough on 29th August. If we split the task 3 ways again, its approx. 20 minutes per hour in the hut, entering times and speeds into a laptop. From experience, its possible but not ideal to do as a competitor (especially if your car is as unreliable as mine at the moment!) Volunteers will get eternal gratitude, good karma for months and free biscuits. Blatmail me if you can assist. Thanks Alan alias "Comp Scorer"
  14. Hi both, #6 - yes, thats the connector. Green is IGN feed, now wired to +12V Red is LAMP. The red Lamp lights when ignition is on (suggesting to me its wired correctly), but won't go out when engine is running, and alternator is working (showing 14.3V). Blue isn't used (generic cheap Chinese connector) Plus there is the fat +12V cable (brown on standard setup, taken from the starter) From conversations with RJ, and looking at Andrew Revill's comment in the other thread, my understanding is that the EU3 ECU controls a standard alternator via the "sensor" connection. "Sensor" can be an input or an output for some alternators, and just not needed for others. The WOSP controls itself, and I'm seeing a consistent 14.3 at idle and when revved, so the sense wire in the EUC connector isn't needed. Unlike a standard Eu3 alternator, the WOSP needs a dedicated IGN feed, which it now has, and seems happy with. But the damn light won't go out! I'll try a 12v/2W bulb as above between LAMP and IGN (and a voltmeter) and see what happens. But it looks good enough to get me up Harewood Hill at the weekend, which is the main thing.
  15. I have just fitted a WOSP alternator to my EU3 K, after a 3rd failure of standard items. Some fitting notes and a question. The pulley on the WOSP is bigger, so at first the standard belt would not fit. After some head scratching, I managed to re-route the shorter apollo pipe around it (its a physically smaller unit) allowing it to hang closer to the block, allowing the belt to fit. I now have one pipe "through" the belt, and the other around it. The pipe does squash against the small wire connector on the alternator, but all sees seems to work. For connection, I connected the red "lamp" to "lamp", left the blue "dummy" (why have a "dummy") and connected green to the other wires on the rover plug,. WRONG (and HUGE thanks to RJ/Regin for help on this). The green wire needs an ignition feed, wheres the EU3 connector was an ECU "sensor", which seems not needed. So now it works, 14.3 V when running. But the red warning light in the tacho is still on. Anyone else had this problem? Needs a different spec bulb, or some other solution?
  16. Results and championship scores now updated here. AB
  17. Everyone should have an email from Graham with our proposed solution - I'll correct the scores and re-link subject to any objections to the proposal in the email. Seems some gremlins crept in as I tried to extract the unpublished P1 times from the timing website as well.
  18. Hi Malcolm, You are correct. The only previous run at 3 Sisters on the same "short" layout was in 2017, in wet conditions. The impact was noticed as I created the PDFs last night. Graham, Paul and I are discussing ideas as to what can be done, and how to get agreement, as the impact is indeed very significant. AB
  19. Shaun, you received a 3 second time penalty for "conspiring to steal the comp scorer's chair". (apologies - it would be you wouldn't it! - I'll get it fixed this evening) AB
