  1. I'd like the VDO gauges please. Can you pm me with details of cost of postage and suitable donation and details of how to pay you. Thanks Ian
  2. I think it depends on where (and / or when) the TRE was purchased. I'm sure that on one occasion I changed one and the old nut would not fit on the new TRE - which wasn't too much of a problem as new nuts were supplied with the TRE.
  3. I don't know whether this helps. I have a 1990 car, the build manual includes a wiring diagram dated 1988 which includes the Dim Dip device, however my car does not have it. I have a Main harness diagram dated 1987(Jun) which includes a note "Dim-Dip removed Jan '89" If you Can't find the Dim-Dip, I suspect you don't have it.
  4. Or you could try buying new from Rimmer Bros at £61.20 per caliper https://rimmerbros.com/item--i-159130 https://rimmerbros.com/item--i-159131
  5. My engine builder lent me a Wosp P/N LMS009 "Ford Pinto OHC" to try when mine sounded a bit weak. In the end I didn't try it (too cold in the garage) and just changed the battery which sorted things out. It had an adjustable mount which would have given some flexibility of mounting on the car. As I say, in the end I didn't use it but they said it would have better torque than my standard unit. They use it on all the engines they put on their dynamometer. Hope that helps Ian
  6. If A. Waterfield doesn't complete for some reason, May I have 2nd dibs on the Full Hood please. Ian
  7. Orangepeel61 beet me to it - I was just about to say the same. #3 is how mine is.
  8. My sierra manual shows tripode joints - not trilobe. Does that help with the search?
  9. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it but there is a Y shaped spacer available that means there is a slight space between the spare wheel and the back of the bodywork which enables the boot cover to be unclipped without having to adjust the spare wheel at all. https://caterhamparts.co.uk/other/6568-spare-wheel-spacer-bracket.html (there might be more than one so check it is suitable for your car.) Ian
  10. I see you suspect a petrol problem - but have you managed to test for a spark when it will not start?
  11. I also had it on a 1990 chassis, Arch rebrazed it for me....Then it did it again. Took it to Redline in Caterham and they rebrazed it again. They also fabricated an extra support strut between the bolt that holds the top of the damper unit and the horizontal plate that holds the headlamp. So now the wing support is triangulated, much more solid and robust. No problems since, touch wood.
  12. I think that is a Dzus fastener. https://www.speedyfasteners.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Dzus+Quarter+Turn+Fastener&Submit=Submit The above link may give some information as to what is available.
  13. Does the car have an immobiliser connected to the ECU? If so could there be a problem with the link so that the ECU thinks the immobiliser is armed and therefore shuts down the ECU? Ian
  14. If the rocker part looks different it can be praised out and replaced with the rocker from the original switch. (At least that's true for my era of car.) They are designed to come out to change the bulbs as Paul says above.
  15. I've not used one but thought they "clipped" on to the wheel carrier not the number plate support. ie it should be about 3" lower than you have it.
  16. On my 1990 X/flow, there is a "hazard" relay (which I think would be better described as an Indicator Relay). When the ignition is switched on, the relay is energised and enables the indicators to work. So, if you have removed the ignition switch and replaced its function with the FIA switch then I would expect the relay to be energised when the FIA is turned on. (As an aside, if you've removed the ignition barrel how do you stop the engine?) Do you have the wiring diagram? Ian
  17. The only adjustable parts on the on the standard 1990 model are toe-in and ride height (via shims under the springs - not threaded dampers)
  18. Here is a page from my Feb 1990 Assembly Guide which covers X/Flow and BDR
  19. Hi, In 2012 I bought "Sierra Cosworth 2WD Calipers" from Rally design - part No. CAL001 They fitted my 1990 De Dion without problems. I notice the description for your link does say "solid disc applications" Ian
  20. Based on "normal" threads on a X/flow I would have expected it to be 1/4" NPT. However the VDO one fitted to my Caterham supplied X/flow in 1990 was 1/4" BSP (parrallel). The markings on the Hex are:- 0-5 bar 5.90 (I think that is the date) 29/39 (I think a model / thread reference) Ian
  21. Are any of the octane boosters compatible with catalysts and / or (wide band) lambda sensors? I know at least some suggest that you should not use them with catalyst equipped vehicles. Ian
  22. Does it have hardened valve seats? If not I'd consider a lead replacement additive.
  23. My 1990 X/flow is similar to the diagram above except that the fuse and relay for the Dim/Dip is no longer present Ian
  24. I think the notes may be here:- https://wiki.seloc.org/a/S1_Steering_Rack_-_Removal_and_Reconditioning There is a pdf on the titan site, I have a copy if you can't find it. Ian
