  3. BJ trailers recommend someone in Rayleigh Essex (Sarfend), I went to see him recently and he fabricates framework and cuts and stitches a tight cover for £1470.00 plus the VAT Plastic lasts 10 yrs.. I don't know how much he will charge to cover if you've made your own but I had a quote locally and it was £800. 8. Another tick for the above tuners. Had my 2.8 done and now is sooo much easier to drive on the road as mid-range power is now excellent and you can either push on through or change up sooner (and change down later) for performance or economy. A friend organised them to be at a (Donington) race meeting so they did more than one and charged £200 all in. Used half a tank to get there used quarter to get back all on economy mood... pulling 3/4 ton.
  9. P D Have sent you an email.

  12. Regards to longevity. Can I recommend a Pegasus (Now sold by SkyFord at Hemel Hempstead) cast STEEL CRANK. A lot stronger than standard, just as cheap and will last for donkeys without breaking up and destroying your wonderful X-flow block....2,000 Formula Ford boys can't all be wrong..

  18. Seems it could be an interesting Club visit in the Autumn. Anyone (Herts/Essex/Cambs) interested?
  19. There was a discussion on the racing web site (10/10ths) a while back... ....dug this up - should be able to help a bit. (Formula Fords are 420Kg so 150Kg away from a Seven which might make a difference...) http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78687&highlight=Brake+pads this is the flavour.... 1144 Mintex or 1155's are most peoples choice, what did you have? it depends on how agressive you are on the brakes, if you are very harsh (which I dont think you are) and dont require much feeling in the brakes go for 55's if you are more progressive and need some more feeling in the pedal go for 44's. If you are cooking the brakes all the time then try 55's but really in a FF you shouldnt be braking that long to be cooking them. so maybe try braking later and harder.
  20. Just a small aside on the subject about the difference of one number. I have just found out after nearly 20 bl%$£y years that I copied Roger Kings advice on which plugs to use on a 1600 crossflow wrongly... It's on a little Formula Ford and would rocket off the line and overtake everything on the first lap then I would watch them all go past on the remaining laps... All these years I've put it down to Aerodynamics of a brick. I've been using B7ECS instead of 8's. I now find it doesn't let anyone pass at the end of straights anymore.... Hope that helps....
  21. Madhatter, ring Steve, say you've seen a mention of it here and see what he says. By the sounds of things they're well regarded and if you explained we are 3,000- strong and there might be a few sales he might agree to being competitive against Quaife especially if you give it a write-up for the mag. They seem to be ultra-busy and talking to his daughter Kate who works there they may be looking for another engineer to keep up. Anyone's son etc interested?
  22. Sadev 6 speed sequential gearbox information. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention this, but to me, it could be useful to a lot of Seven owners...and there could be a discount deal if there is a demand....(?).I could ask... Just to let anyone know if you are interested, my wife met someone in relation to something other than Sevens who is local to us (Harlow Essex) and it seems her Dad is pretty handy with gearboxes. I've known about him from a time back when he was running a race winning team but it seems he has succesfully moved on to the field of high performance gearboxes. He runs a company that deals with a new 6 speed sequential gearbox that was seen in the Caterham Levante RST V8 its a French company called Sadev, they supply a lot of gearboxes to the car manufacturers like Lotus for their Special project Exige and 211 cars and from what I hear its got a super fast gear shift with its full throttle change system and even the Lavante have gone to a paddle shift too which has taken the performance of the car to another level apparently, I believe the gearbox can replace the Ford type 9 or Caterham 6 speed gearbox and bolts directly in place using the same prop shaft. 24. Same as Eugene, Aldon worked for years then started to argue with the rest of the car. Went the way of Bestek system (based on Jag V12 coil, dizzy and black box = bombproof). He sells by ebay.
