In fact there are 3 chassis numders on a Caterham two exposed and one hidden. The one located at the rollbar is a frame nr.+ date Then there is the chassis nr. at the pedalbox And the hidden one ? surprice, surprice. It is on top of the wipermotor bracked, but you need a mirror to see it.

I have Spax std. shocks at the rear with adj. spring platforms.

Maybe Caterham opted for the Ford T policy : you can have any color for your steering rack aslong it is black.

If you fit alcon brake calipers it saves 3 kg over the std caliper. wink.gif

Tony, If you need new springs try D.Faulkner springs they can make whatever spring that you like and have an excellent service.They also have the most common springs on stock Tel:01234 543049

There is also a difference between DIN and SAE figures for horcepower. I think SAE is without waterpump, alternator and other external bits.

What is the price for Avons CR 28 sport, size 185/70 13" and 205/60 13" in the U.K. In Belgium the price for the 185 is 102£ and 101£ for the 205. They seem to be a little bit overpriced to me.

Pierre, Have patiece when you start to sand. They sell special patches to sand down the dust in the varnish, but you can make them yourself. Cut a 20mm roundel from your sanding paper and glue it to a piece that you have cut from the mss broom, doing this you have far more control where you start to sand down the dust patch on your wing.

Graham, You can always use an old waterhose to protect the de dion tube. Look very carefully for rust at the stress points.

Arnie, If u use Terroson 2K to glue the wings than they never come off again. Only make sure you glue the wing on bare metal. Terroson 2K is a bit expencive 12£ i think but i guarantee that the wing and stay itself will break before the joint will let go.

Pierre, What do you call "small defects". If it is just a little piece of dust than you can sand & polish but be very carefull because if you sand trough the varnish you have to revarnish. I hope that you have put two layers of varnish on to your wings if so you can sand & polish otherwise sand & revanish your wings.

Pierre, Why not use shrinking cable protection for the connectors, any decent parts shop should have this. Also the black protection (K series )came off very easy and i put two extra cables in and the cover still fit's nicely.( i did use the radio contact to spread the connectors )

If you want minilight style wheels that are really good go for Panasport wheels. 6x13"= 4,853kg 7x13"= 5kg And they have a perfect finish.

Is there a gear driven startermotor available for the X flow ? that is a straight replacement.

Allen, I have 2 1/4" springs on my live axle, it is a tight fit. When the top link is level with the ground there is about 1/2" clearance. Hope this helps.
