    CSR Headlights

Thanks Darren, arrived today, nice bit of kit! Since it will mean I have to have the lights off the car for a couple of weeks I may not want to use it until later in the summer so, if anyone wants it right now I will get it to them and borrow it back later. Anyway, it is with me now! David CoSwoRth it!

  9. No, my ignorance, I didn't look at your request closely enough! I now see you are looking for S-Types: mine are the new (current) style leather ones from a SV. Sorry! CoSwoRth it!

  14. Nope, it doesnt with coversystems either! If you want it you can pay the £70 then send me whatever it cost to post and pack after receipt, sounds fair? (since I don't know how much it will cost) let me know david CoSwoRth it! Edited by - Caesar on 23 Apr 2007 11:47:33 Edited by - Caesar on 23 Apr 2007 17:55:24
  15. as seen here and well known to blatters as being the best there is! waterproof, breathable, outdoor, in bag with all straps and, apart from creases and a little dirt, in top nick! However, it doesn't fit a SV which is why I have had to order a bigger one and am selling this. Coversystems quote £112 for a new one (they are not cheap!), how about £70? CoSwoRth it!

  17. No, It is no different than going round a corner, I reckon. (and you are not going to go far). Also, a bigger diameter will not fit under the front wings My reason for wanting a spare is I hope to do a fair bit of touring and it's not so much the chance of a puncture, more of damaging a rim. Keep me posted if you have any other ideas CoSwoRth it!
  18. It's probably all accademic now but, it was during my ownership that a slight "cambelt mishap" occurred. It was the waterpump that seized and stripped a couple of teeth of the belt thus allowing it to hop on a vernier. I took the head off and, contrary to popular belief, there is no valve to piston contact unless you are revving the b*llocks off it, and, as I wasn't, there was no damage top end. CoSwoRth it!
  19. And . . . I rekon the spare would have to be the same as the front. If you were unlucky enough to have a blown rear, at least it would fit, whereas, if you had a rear it would not fit the front. Err, If you see what I mean . . . CoSwoRth it!
  20. Paul, I had the idea to fit a removable one by tubes which push through the two towing eyes. If you have a look you will see that a straight line extension from these brings you to the lower wishbone bolts. These could be replaced with longer ones with a fitting of some kind to take the end of the tubes. This would give a good amount of strength as it would not just be relying on a fix along the back. Arch seem to think something along these lines would work. I will see them when I have the time and come back here. CoSwoRth it!

    CSR kangaroo

David, I am going to put mine in to CC for first service in a week or so and am glad they are recognising the problem. I have no gripe with them at all and have had nothing but courtesy and help before, during and after the build; I would also much rather work with them than go outside. It is just that I cannot seem to get a proper statement about, what I consider to be a major problem affecting, it seems, all CSR owners. All I want is something from CC saying they are working on it and you seem to have received that when you had your service. Hope we can actually get a remedy soon before the summer goes. Yes, I have talked to ASrch re spare rack. Sometime when the car is more drivable I am going to Cambridge to see them and get quotes, I will let you know. David CoSwoRth it!

    CSR kangaroo

May I direct interested parties to the other thread here on techtalk "remap of CSR" It seems it is a mapping problem CoSwoRth it!
  23. I have used Steve Greenwald before and he is magic but I am not going to pay the £500 or so on a car that has done less than 500 miles and, as far as I am concerned, under guarantee. Darren said "the day to day drivability (which) is now as it should have been" and that is my point, THE FAULT IS THEREFORE CURABLE ! Looking forward to hearing from CC and other owners. CoSwoRth it!
  24. I hope CC are reading this! See previous here where I told of my kangaroo problems which Darren repeated here "The kangaroo hops made me almost “hate” the car when driving around town, especially if the roads were uneven. While it is possible with careful control of your foot to reduce the problem, it only took a moment’s lapse in millimetre foot control…arrggghh!" This is so true, it is a real pain to drive slowly. So it is not just me and, in spite of being told I would get used to it, I won't, and do not accept that this fault is ok in any way with car of this spec and price. So, Darren seems to have proved it was the mapping, so when are CC going to offer a re-map to correct this? Interetingly, Darren says (I quote) "Caterham do apparently have new maps for the 200 and 260, but they would still be locked and require special software" So, if caterham have new maps, when are thy going to do mine ? A newsletter to all the existing CSR owners acknowleging the problem would be a good start and a follow up with a remedy as soon as possible would help to restore the confidence in this vehicle. I cannot believe they send out the cars, factory built, that are as undrivable as mine. Any chance of a comment fron CC (email me direct if you wish or call my mobile, you have the number. David Lashmar CoSwoRth it!
  25. Available in all colours - Oh dear! wonder if they will do my paisley ones. Really, though, if the price is sensible they will have a winner with these CoSwoRth it!
