I knocked on the door at this bed & Breakfast and a lady stuck her head out of the window and said: 'What do you want', I said, 'I want to stay here'. She said, 'Well stay there then' and shut the window.

Good Morning. I am trying to keep this near the top so I shall treat you to a 'Cooperism' or a "Man walked into . . ." joke at regular intervals. If this p155e5 you off, buy my CSR! A man goes to the Psychiatrists and the Psychiatrist says: 'What's the problem' The man says, 'I think I'm becoming a kleptomaniac. 'The Psychiatrist says, 'Here take these tablets and if you're no better in a week' ..... 'Bring me a colour TV'.

"Millsn" sent the following to me by blatmail: Didn't know how to ask this without mucking up your "for sale" thread any further, so thought I'd PM you. Was looking over your car details and noticed the unusual garage floor. Hope you don't mind my asking but what does it cost to tile a garage floor? Is it cheaper than carpet tiles or paint for instance? but when I reply I get the email bouncing back, so, to answer your query here is my email reply: Hi, They are 'normal' quarry tiles but, certainly not cheap! First of all you have to have the floor completely smooth and level and, unless you are a dab hand at tiling, then you get an expensive bloke in to lay them! I guess you are looking at around £80 per square metre. Carpet tiles would be 10% of that and paint even less

Hi Steve, thank you for your kind comments! I truly breaks my heart to sell, I have spent so much time and money on it but, needs must right now. However, when my fortunes turn (when!) I will build another. I still reckon the CSR is the pinnacle of CC design, far away from the other sevens I have had. . . . pause to wipe a tear! d

Petrolhead, the battery is a Varley 'red top' and sits in a cage fixed to the frame below the induction. This made it easier to keep an un-cluttered scuttle. To allow for a battery conditioner to be connected or, even a jump start, there are two terminal pillars on the box with the cut-off switch. Regarding the brake master cylinder, I do not have any brakes in the interest of weight saving.

    Lotus Elan + 2

My mate asks: can you put a message on your Caterham/Lotus 7 site to the effect that your old friend who is thoroughly trustworthy, honest as the day is long guv, wants to sell his fab white 1972 Lotus Elan +2S 130/5. Superb condition. £9,000 ovno. please contact h.weatherley@virgin.net Hope you don't mind me using the site for this but it will get me a beer or three. Hilary is an absolute fanatic and the car has been prepared to the highest possible standard, no expense spared! Well worth a look if that is your thing. He has fallen for a 21 after he saw one at Stoneleigh so he might be driving a (sort of) 7 soon! David CoSwoRth it!

Thanks, Petrolhead, I appreciate the contact. I have just, this minute, rung off from my third conversation with Jeff after he saw some (rather poor) photos so, no cloak and dagger there! My deal for sale is that I want it to go to someone who really appreciates what I have done to it. To show how much this means to me I have offered two interested parties, already, a refund of the cost of their journeys to me at Caterham (!) and overnight accommodation should they buy. You may not feel this is the normal way to sell a 7 but, I tend not to do things in a normal fashion. I am not an impersonal garage or dealer. If I don't think a interested party will appreciate my car I will not sell it to them. My perogative I am sure you will agree. These are not just 'kit cars' as we all know. d CoSwoRth it!

Yep, but it doesn't necessarily sell a car, it just invites oglers and critics. Anyone who seriously wants to shell out in excess of £30k will contact me and look at the car itself. d CoSwoRth it!

Good Morning all! I have been away for a couple of days but will reply to all enquiries! However, just to give an idea, I am looking for over £30,000. This is a CSR260 that has had no expense spared! (bills for well over £45k) just over 2k miles. I may put some pictures up later but they really do it no justice. I would be much more keen to show it to a serious enquirer. I live at Caterham as well as with one. CoSwoRth it! Edited by - Caesar on 27 May 2009 08:39:06

Hi Paul, Saw your article in Complete Kit Car re the new ECU. Very interesting although a tad expensive to cure an inherent fault! No clues on new project just yet, as I said, "just thinking". However, having just had a blast in it yesterday I really don't know, especially, as with you, I have spent so much time (and money) getting it as best as I can. It looks so good now and goes like stink. Watch this space. All the best, David CoSwoRth it!
