  1. How about this? It looks exceptional!

Nice car… If you wanted to add lightness to it by selling the long nose shower cap separately, can I have first dibs please? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  3. Seems the conclusion is LSD: Drexler > TracSport > Sintered Titan > Carbon Titan > ATB: Wavetrac > Quaiffe in terms of both performance and price!
  4. Sorry… re costs… If the crown wheel/pinion are not badly worn then you’ll be looking at a pub lunch over £2k to get Steve to overhaul your diff, replace the bearings and seals before fitting a TracSport and shipping it back to you. Ask me how I know… 🤔😳 If the diff is trashed (or you want to start from scratch to give peace of mind), add circa £1500 to that for a new open diff from Caterham. Getting the diff out is comparatively straight forward (assuming you don’t smash your finger trying to undo a bolt, otherwise it’ll be an elapsed time of over a week; again, ask me how I know). Getting it back in and centred is much more of a ‘mare however.
  5. As per the very l..o..n..g thread, a Titan-based solution is far from fit and forget and will need regular maintenance. The sintered plates are more robust than the carbon ones but nevertheless have a limited lifespan. The consensus is to patronise Steve Perks and go for a TracSport unit. There have been a few positive comments recently about Drexler LSDs too. If you really don’t want/need an LSD, then the Quaiffe ATB is meant to be very good.
  6. @revilla has developed a “Gauge Magic“ circuit (see this thread) that enables the necessary correction. Unfortunately he’s currently reclusive and I don’t think producing any (I’d like one for my fuel gauge!). I hope his circumstances will improve and he’ll be back soon.
  7. Those above which are from the supplier of the product suggested by @LouisFeakes. including: Seller makes no warranties, express or implied, of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise, and Seller makes no representation or warranty that this equipment can be safely installed on any specific vehicle or is suitable for use under any specific road or racing conditions.
  8. I have found both Minty and Darren at Caterham consistently helpful. The former hand-delivered some bits for me when my car was at the 7 Workshop. This was before we realised we’d need the parts! 😳 Darren has responded to emails from me on a Sunday evening.
  9. The diff uses a Gold AP-22 magnetic sump plug (well, that’s what I put in mine!)
  10. Google “Gold magnetic sump plug” or similar… (Gold is the manufacturer’s name of mine)
  11. I had an issue the first time I drove my 7 any distance that I was able to fix at the roadside without tools. I was on my way to a Club/Caterham F1 event at Silverstone. Upon arrival, chatting to another member they were astonished that I ever considered going out in the 7 without tools. Since then, I have carried a range of bits and pieces that I expect to sort all but major failures. Needless to say, in the ten years since, I never used it (apart from the odd minor thing when parked up).

    Noisy Rear End

would adding some rubber washers/spacers between the A frame and chassis provide an appropriate amount of isolation but add unwanted movement/compliance? or should smaller diameter washers simply be used, as was the case in the past? (my A frame is currently on the garage floor having just taken my diff out - again! So am interested in the best means of rebuilding) The 2014 Assembly Guide includes this photo, showing the suggested arrangement:
  13. Judging by the height of the lumpy bits at the back, Imperial… but best the OP confirms.
  14. Doh! 🤦🏻‍♂️ I mistakenly thought the initial colour question referred to @Skipper555’s photo rather than @lapsedtheorist’s. Allowing for the vagaries of iPhone cameras’ colouring, they do look similar!
  15. Sorry, the nice bloke who did my screen is of the opinion that this is the third and last one he’ll make. The time/effort involved does not make others financially viable. The stanchions are custom (different angle/dangle to the norm) and the base is from a standard windbreak to match the scuttle profile. The screen is then toughened glass to his custom template. Sounds easy eh?
  16. Interesting…. mine’s more red than orange but more orange than red… 😲 Maybe as mine was Lamborghini Arancio Argos mixed/sprayed by Tony the Brush rather than Caterham Arancio Argos… 🤷🏻‍♂️ Either way, we agree that it’s awesome!
  17. It’s like a slightly under-ripe tomato… red but very much an orangey-red! In the sun, as in the photo, it does “zing red”. It’s a Lamborghini colour.
  18. It looks like Ballistic Orange to me… which what my car was when I built it. It was then reskinned and I went for Arancio Argos (before it became a Caterham colour):
  19. That would make sense, there is a lot of difference in the wiring (swapping a fixed cam Sigma for a Ti-VCT wasn’t practical because of that).
  20. Always good to patronise/encourage Minty at Redline - he’s a fabulous resource. That said, other than Caterham, Burton Power may be able to provide a gasket.
  21. My 2013 Sigma’s fuses/relays…
  22. Nah… I’m just forgetful! 🤦🏻‍♂️
  23. Not interested in the bike… but where in Chiswick are you? (I’m in Corney Reach - down near Chiswick Pier)
  24. I know a number of folks who rave about their R888Rs - so if your car is set up for those, it’d make sense to replace like-for-like. (from someone with ZZSs…! 🤔)
