    Wavetrac LSD

I'm fed up with my quaife. I'm in the same boat as you deciding between wavetrack and tracksport. I think it'll have to be tracksport as no-one seems to have an opinion of the wavetrack. if anyone wants a great ATB that is perfect for a fast road car, my quaife is coming out and will be for sale. it's just not right on the track in low speed corners.
  2. My centre caps actually lasted a trackday! (There’s a reason I’m not selling them)
  3. not centrecaps I hope.... I'm testing my latest ones this weekend and I fully expect to have none left by the end of the day as they just get hot and fall out.
  4. I've done some odd things for people recently. buttons surrounds for a caterham21, custom motorbike brake mounts for a 7. parts for a wheelchair....
  5. I’m going this Saturday (I also pm’d him)
  6. yeah I'm just missing 30mm bolts so I can't supply them yet!
  7. this has been a bit of a marathon. turns out I figured out how to make brackets for the sidescreens that take the adapters. this means you can use the same mirrors attached to the adapter with minimum fuss switching between sidescreen and windscreen. I'm gonna test them this week at Bedford trackday and then add them to my offerings. pictures will follow
  8. Racebox mini. I’ve since flipped it and need to redesign the bracket to hide it better as it’s quite expensive. Haven’t offered it for sale as it’s a bit niche… dunno maybe people would like it.
  9. I sell mounts that allow you to fit a screen (otherwise the mounts hit the screen too) by using 2x removable zipties and some vhb tape. They’re shown here but I’ve not added the vhb tape in these pics or cut the tails off and hidden them, which neatens it up massively. I can do them for 32 or 38mm cages. 28 quid delivered with zipties and tape. They hold at 125mph with no screen. I usually do 1 short 1 long but can do whatever details on uberniche.co.uk for a mirror I use a cheap convex ebay one. 22 quid. Black line convex
  10. I'd probably take a full set if the price is right. don't care about tyres. don't mind a bit of roadrash as long as they're straight
  11. I've got a RaceCo Ti exhaust in the hope of keeping the noise down. not sure how much good it does. I do have an exhaust bung but haven't used it.
  12. I've only been black flagged at bedford. if you don't pin it past the noise meter you're fine.
  13. it certainly makes the car look a little more racecar/menacing/purposeful/etc having the airvent hanging out the side 😄 induction noise is increased which can be a bad thing with noise limits. it does sound mad at full blast. it sounds like it's trying to suck the earth into it! 😄 enjoy the braaaaaaps
  14. So did Gavin Hobbs of the carrotland parish, he asked me to come up with something and here we are (excuse the mismatched Ti bolts, I've been experimenting loads): here it is in action: the Hinges are new versions of the ones I sell with my caterham-spa adapters. they limit the sidescreen opening and then accept the quick swap adapters directly. as you can see, with a spare set of mirrors, it's a 2 minute job to switch from sidescreens to no sidescreens. if you want to reuse the spa mirrors, it's about a 10 minute job. they're available in spa or motamec fitting (as usual, I recommend spa as they're more convex) the adapters come with all bolts needed, a pair of hinges and a pair of double captive nuts which mean that there's no fiddling with an 8mm spanner. just a 3mm hex. if you already bought some of my hinges, I'll replace them for free with the new ones and so you'll get a discount. price is 35quid delivered for more info and to order, goto the page in my signature 😄 as usual, all profits to be spent on alcohol and Super Unleaded
  15. I have a quaife, it's fine on the road. you're not going to be cornering hard enough that it stops being useful. you can do donuts and drifts and silly things. on the track however in hard cornering on tight corners it will start to slip the inside as the rear lifts. it's pretty bloody annoying at bedford on the hairpins as it just doesn't work. I'd go either Wavetrac or Tracsport.
  16. is it just the clip is stuck or has it made some sweet sweet galvanic corrosion?
  17. a friend has suggested just making new holes and re-rivnutting. is this an insane idea? I have the opposite problem to @mph in that my rivnuts are corroded and spinning. drilling steel bolts out of ali rivnuts is not going to be much fun.
  18. be REALLY careful doing this. you're basically hammering an aluminium sheet. I managed to bend my scuttle around the holes before I realised what I was doing. drilling rivets with the centre still in is a right PITA
  19. reading this ten years later, I can confirm that his old car still has the same problem. I still have tape over the high beam (which was indeed useless) and I'm planning on figuring out the stupid 'econometer' shift light now I have the scuttle off. I think the 'econometer' is a warning on the ACES to say your revs are too low and you should shift down
  20. let's see that they work and you're happy before you start sending me your inheritence 😄 they are prototypes after all. there are instructions on the website for paypal or if you pm me I'll send you my bank deets.
  21. They came out nice once I dried out my filament. Might have to redo my old ones now so they're as neat
  22. that's with me sat in. I got it to 50% cross weights by softening the front left, and rear right and jacking the rear left. need to do some checking of the scales by swapping them. also need to check rake and then I can do camber and toe.
  23. Who knows how accurate it all is. This is my starting point
  24. Just before I lost one of them down the back of my seat
  25. I'm fairly sure it's 38mm, but I've been wrong before with other tubes.
