  1. I started thinking of some kind of damper on the mirror but didn't get any further. I have my hands full with pedals.
  2. hey all, thanks for all the orders. I've made some changes to what I'm offering following a bit of testing with an SV but nothing bad. please check the original post as I've changed it. if you've already sent me a message before I changed the price, you're all good. any queries fire over a message direct. any more orders this week will be delayed by a couple of weeks as I've been completely buried by the popularity of this and I need to get some feedback regarding sizing before I send any more out. the main problem at this point is the printer is running all day and I have to sort out postage for 20 packages... thanks all! John. ps thanks to BigCol for letting me fit the larger sized one to his beautiful car.
  3. I'd expect pretty damn durable. PLA is quite tough and stiff, and the bits around where the foot touches is 6 layers thick. If it turns out to be crap there's options such as carbonfibre-mix PLA but that destroys the print head. if people have been using PVC and wood then I'm happy this will work. If this was a pedal for a transit van, I wouldn't be as confident.
  4. holy crap I didn't expect so many people wanting this. following me checking it earlier, I'm not going to bother with the 20mm unless you have an SV. it's way too big. if you decide you need it, I'll post it out for free. I think the 10mm is perfect but your pedals may vary.
  5. due to insane demand I've put my price up a bit. it still seems reasonable. I just did this for fun and didn't expect 10 people in a day to order them!
  6. there you go. just bear in mind the camera's white balance might have affected it but it looks about right.
  7. OK, here we go. the best way to know what size you need is to measure the gap. I personally like about 35mm and the gap in my S3 is 50mm so I have a 15. for 20 quid + 4 quid Postage, I'll make and send you two different sizes and the 5mm end plug. the 5mm hole is oversized so that it is tightened up against the opposite cap. they're switchable either side so there's the full range of adjustments. the inner part is slightly elliptical as my pedal wasn't round so it has a bit of adjustment in it. you may need to do a little bit of filing to get it to fit. I do black as standard, but for an extra £5 I can do orang, green, red and grey. please note that these won't fit the old style pedal that looks like this. if you have one of these tell me as I have a DIFFERENT version that will fit yours! a video of my feet in my S3 chassis and a 15mm plug and here's a photo of my S3 pedal box with my 15mm: this is a 25mm in an SV chassis if you want a set go here: https://graearea.github.io/ I'll send them out and then pay me the cash when you're happy with the product. cheers! J
  8. 3d printed pedal extensions
  9. And do you know what fluid is in there (and elsewhere!) at the moment? nope. I might chase the dealer and ask him.
  10. I've had the car for 3 or 4 weeks now so got my first trackday booked in as soon as I bought my little beast. Bedford seemed a good first go as there's not much to hit and it's only an hour and a bit drive. the morning was wet and the half hood was totally up to the job. I'm not sure why people bother with the full hood they look stressful. understeer was expected and oversteer but I wasn't super-inspired by the new car. lunch came and went and the track was dry and MY GOD the car changed. all the heat I couldn't get into the tyres was there to tear my head off round the corners and could finally play about. problems: I'm struggling to heal-and-toe in the car as I obvs can't twist my foot and I suspect the brake pedal is too far from the accelerator, so I'm going to look at moving it closer to do the side-foot senna-style (without the loafers). every corner was a gamble whether I'd hit the brake with my big toe and attempt the throttle and a couple of times I couldn't reach the throttle, so was left without any engine braking which was pretty terrifying. boiling the brake fluid was unexpected. I washed it off the paint, but I think there's some under the chassis plate. either the brake fluid that came in the car is not up to the job or the brake pads are crap (they worked fine all day) or there's a high-pressure leak. I guess I'll chuck RBF660 in. gopro sound was terrible. (cold tyres are a bugger :D )getting the instructor in meant undoing the roof :D I couldn't keep up with a McLaren 720s :D forever forgetting my earplugs forgetting to attach both door tabs it popped the noise meter and then after I fitted a baffle, it spat that off at 100mph (needs more bolts) good bits: everything else. it slides everywhere. it spins the wheels in 4th in the wet. it kept me mostly dry. it didn't melt anything. it's REALLY fast. it's pretty. it ate it all up. roll on next trackday. (possibly Oulton Park) https://www.flickr.com/photos/javelintrackdays/51986043696/in/album-72177720297896760/lightbox/
  11. I can't be relied upon to self cancel. I've caught myself driving down the road with the blinker on a bunch of times. especially easy in a noisy car with the sun behind you. next job is to design the button case and figure out how to cable it from the dashboard.
  12. first proof of concept for my self-cancelling indicators. my idea is to have small box on the dash with a switch on it to disconnect it from the indicator switch which it'll be wired into. then two buttons on the wheel with a spiral cable and a decent connector of some kind.
  13. I guess I'm late to this party but I'd like to get a spot if one turns up.
  14. I've had the car a week and so I've started making some bits and pieces. so far it's just go-pro rollbar mounts and errrm, bike clamp guides. my next few things are some bike clamp guides so that I can take the bike AND have the roof up. here's them in use: https://www.instagram.com/p/CbUkCLCsA69/ they locate the bars of the bike to the rollbar downtubes and then zip-ties(soon to be short ratchet straps) hold the bars to the... bars. version 2 will hopefully allow me to mount them a bit lower and allow the half-hood. the first prototype is printing as I type. anyone else using 3D printing for anything? for my next trick I'm going to try self-cancelling indicators using an accelerometer, a microcontroller and some buttons. anyone know if I can use a mosfet to handle the relay part?
  15. I just got mine and could do with it moving forward another inch or so. but every time I get out I'm grinning too much to remember my poor left leg.
  16. Hey there. I'm super new as I just bought the car yesterday and I've booked for the august Anglesey trackday and i'll be travelling up from London so if I could come up with some people that'd be fun. up on Sunday sounds possible. I'll have (hopefully) done a bunch of trackdays between now and then. cheers, J
