  1. Dates for Circuitdays have been announced. https://circuit-days.co.uk/nurburgring I wanted to do spa at the same week but it looks like the only dates that would work are October and it feels like that would be a rough time of year both for Spa and the ring. https://weather-and-climate.com/average-monthly-precipitation-Rainfall,nurburg-rhineland-palatinate-de,Germany looking at this, may and october aren't actually bad dates. just depends on things drying out...
  2. the wording isn't obtrusive. but I'll happily swap a set of motamecs for your spas :D
  3. that thread is pretty long now. https://graearea.github.io/pedals <-- everything you need is here :D

    Blyton moments

I outbraked myself (with an extra 100kilo ballast) at the same corner as you. I took the route of shame tho instead the XC route :D
  5. I have a modern VP jug. BUT I've had 2 split on me that I only discovered WHILST FILLING which meant petrol everywhere. fun! they were a few years old and had been left in the sun.

you should put them on tiktok
  7. I bought a second set of Motamecs for my side-screens to test that they'd fit with my custom mirror-mounts. here's a pros and cons of the Motamecs versus the SPAs from my opinion. pros: longer arms externally adjustable mounting screws (good for when you open your door and it knocks the mirror) matte black bodies slightly better clamping of mirror bodycons: not as convex. In fact they're barely convex (they were the convex ones) have "objects in the rear are closer than they appear" written on them smaller clamp with bigger holes for mounting. The holes are sized for M6 not M5. The doors are drilled to M5. The holes aren't counter-sunk so don't work as nicely with the bolts I have. the clamps are slightly uglier because of the mount bolts.I think I prefer the Spas due to the convexity
  8. I've _just_ updated the form that is linked from my website. have a look. if it's not clear gimme a poke and I can try and improve it (this is all a bit of a learning curve). I mention this quite a lot but please, please make the dimensions as accurate as possible. there is a little bit of wiggle room in the fitting but not a lot. use some calipers, or a ruler. don't use a tape measure as they are hopeless for this kind of measuring.
  9. there isn't really a generic measurement. one of my orders had exactly the same on both sides, but I've had a few people that have had a bit of trouble getting accurate enough measurements resulting in me changing the way I ask people to measure. I need to change the order form a little to reflect this. I don't know how the build manual tells you to drill the holes but you'd only need to drill the first of the mirror holes.
  10. I sell an improvement on the eccles if you're interested /forum/sale/custom-made-eccles-style-mirror-mounts
  11. made some curved gaskets (in 3 different curve profiles) for the mounts. they worked really well. barely any vibration on the mirrors and no stress deforming the screen at the mounting point. I could be convinced to make some up for people.
  12. Sorry, I sold them. I'm sure someone will have some. but I'd recommend the Spa or Motamecs and some of the mounts that I sell https://graearea.github.io/mirror-mounts.html :D
  13. thanks all! I'll print up some TPU (rubbery plastic) gaskets then
  14. I have spa mirrors which are..... I might get some motamecs but I suspect I might regret it. The external bolts are better but uglier. Not going to bother with centre mirror.
  15. https://meteormotorsport.com/shop/caterham/aeroscreens-carbon/clear-aeroscreen/ anyone used one of these? I think I'm about to order one. any good? I think I'd rather one of these than a carbon fibre one.

    Bedford 10/10

a few of us (me and >1 other) are booking on for 10/10 at Bedford. it's 160quid and guaranteed to not rain (guarantee not guaranteed) anyone fancy getting shouted at for skidding and getting black flagged for noise?
  18. I think the "exit corner, check your mirrors for radicals, move to the right if on a straight, don't dive the inside, don't go round the outside" that we all learn pretty quickly on trackdays is worth much much more than having done 1000 laps on a computer game. I have zero interest in TF I'd REALLY like to do Spa and Nurburgring and Bilsterberg, but Bilsterberg really would require a trailer (which isn't impossible).
  19. Ralph was right, my original joke was wrong. Your ABS, traction control and stability assistance are all your right foot. my BMW uses reluctor rings on all 4 wheels to monitor wheel speed and cut power or brake wheels where needed to keep the car under control.
  20. It won't affect you ABS or your Traction Control or Stability Assistance Fixed that for me.
