What's the difference between S type and Pre S type and when did they change? My car is 96 and the seat panels on the back are horizontal rather than vertical so I'm guessing that they are S3? Are the seats interchangeable? Are the headrests the same?

Arch did mine last year. Excellent service. Dropped the car off, walked into town for breakfast, bit of a wander. Phone call and walked back to collect car and have a factory tour. About 3½ hours in all.

I asked Caterham if their aero cap was a direct replacement for my car. They replied that it was but their part only has 2 pipes connected but my car has 3! Anyone know how this works? FUEL FILLER CAP SILVER AERO INJECTION CARS (30T066A) Your question: Is this a direct replacement for my black plastic Rover part on my 1996 K series Supersport? Answer: Hello Neil, you will be able to fit this filler assembly in place of your existing one but you will need to drill new holes for the mounting of the new flange. The new flange will cover the existing holes on the current cap so they will not be visible.

I have a 1996 1.6 K series Super Sport with the unattractive black plastic (Metro?) fuel filler cap. I'd like to replace it with an aero type. Caterham sell one at £165.70 plus £10 postage, what I find very annoying is they then add 20% VAT to the postage! (postage doesn't attract VAT) A total of £177.70. I only need the cap and gasket part, not the whole assembly which I already have. Has anyone sourced a suitable cap, locking or non locking is fine?

Thank you. They are exactly what I want. I measured 2½" with a vernier which is 63.5mm. I'll double check when home next week to see if 65mm will fit, I'm hopeful!

Thanks, But my car is BRG with chrome Brooklands screens and the standard silver "minilite" type wheels. Last option would be buying something and spraying them silver. Centre sticker info good Thanks

Does anyone know where I can get silver wheel centres for my car from please? They have a diameter of 2½" where they fit into the wheel

Nail varnish remover is mostly Acetone, which is a strong organic solvent, it could damage the resins used in some carbon fibres. I'd recommend surgical spirit.

It maybe (if you are lucky) that the crack is just in the powder coating or paint finish. Can you remove the bolt and check the inside surface of the mounting hole?

I don't know what regulation makes bonnet mounted number plates illegal, maybe they should be mounted verticaly? Mines been like this for about 9 years and never had any issues at MOT times.

Having had mini coopers for 50+ years my toolkit is AF biased! I have plenty of metric spanners but sockets are a bit limited. I need a 30mm socket to fix a friends shower unit. Is there a need for a 30mm socket on a 1996 K series engine? If so happy to buy one, only £6 If not I'll try to borrow one.
