    Lowered Floor

I'm looking into a lower floor for my car, a 1996 S3 K series Supersport. I've read several threads about this but I don't understand why CC don't sell one for my car? They sell "LOWERED FLOOR PANEL RHS S3 PRE 96 AND 2001 ON" Can someone explain what is unique with 1996 to 2001 cars and why a lowered floor isn't available?
  2. I'd say it only required new fiberglass if you wanted the car to look pristine. If you wanted to drive and enjoy a 25 year old car it didn't need anything doing to it.
  3. I would appreciate recommendations from members regarding garages for servicing/repair of Caterhams and/or the K series engine. Bedford/Northampton/Milton Keynes area?
  4. It's great fun, my first ever Caterham but I've found another I like better so it has to go.

    Aero Sreen

Thank you, Any chance of some photographs? There is only one on their website and it doesn't show it very well. Is it possible to fit side mirrors using this aeroscreen?

    Aero Sreen

If I want an Aero Screen(clear) and don't want the traditional Brooklands type, is there anything available other than the one from Meteorsport? Not interested in fitting the RH & LH Caterham racing ones
  9. I'll have the windscreen deflectotrs, happy to pay the postage
  10. Thank you very much for the information. Does having a lower floor reduce the ground clearance or is the lowest part of the car the engine dump?
  11. Many thanks. I am completely new to caterhams ( have rebuilt a couple of mini coopers) so I can find the pedal box cover! Is there a brake light switch located there that moves when if I move the pedal?
  12. I notice you post this reply often. I have tried this with no result, hence my question
  13. I've just bought a 1996 K series Supersport. The guy I got it from is 5'9" and told me he had the pedal assembly moved closer. He said there were 3 posistions. I'm 6'1" so would like to move it back! He didn't know how it was done and I've searched in guides and "low flying" and found any information. Could someone enlighten me please? Thanks Neil
  14. I've not got a Caterham yet but I've driven a Tiger with an aeroscreen for the past 11 years. Very little buffeting at all, it seems to go over the top, and I'm 6'1" I understand the buffeting comes at you from the side if you drive with a screen and no doors, there is none of this with an aeroscreen.

    95/96 chassis

Thanks, I know I'll fit in the de Dion K series, it's the live axle X flow I'm concerned about after reading the article saying it was smaller?

    95/96 chassis

Thanks very much, the K series was registered May 10th 1996 and is a de Dion. Are you saying the chassis lengths are the same and the EVO article is wrong? Thanks for the tip, someone else had also mentioned this to me. No adverts to post for either!

    95/96 chassis

Many thanks for your offer The K series is de Dion, the Xflow is a live rear axle. There aren't any adverts as both contacted me privately in response to a wanted advert on facebook!

    95/96 chassis

I'm viewing a 96 K series Saturday and 95 Cross flow Sunday. I understand there were mods for 96, handbrake relocation "revised stiffened chassis" etc. But then I read this on the EVO website (from 2013) " The cheapest Caterhams you’ll find in the classifieds tend to be the Roadsport’s predecessor, the Super Sprint from the late ’80s and early ’90s, with the cross-flow Ford ‘Kent’ engine. These start at around £7K, rising to £10K and more for a really nice example with all the right bits. Just check you fit, as they don’t have the longer body that arrived with the Roadsport" Is this correct and if so how much longer is the body in the cockpit area? I'm a medium build 6' 1" and have tried a 1997 S3 for size, it's okay. I don't want a 280 mile round trip if I can't fit in it!
  20. I saw this once, now I can't find it! There are 8 parts Where is it located please?
