  1. This is excellent info. Thank you. It does seem that the bottle in mine is Rover 600 one as in the link. So, £2.58 for the cap from Rimmers and £15 from CC !
  2. That's really useful, thank you. Are we to assume that CC have just used the same cap on both K series and Durance cars ?
  3. Thanks for the material info, i hadn't considered that it could have been that! I am aware that there are various different caps rated by pressure so was looking to see if i could identify a suitable replacement
  4. Do you have any markings on the under side of yours? I am trying to identify mine which externally looks similar, but have some markings underneath that read 'PA66-GF30'
  5. Well that clears that up nicely then! Thank you all for the information!
  6. I think i have the PX500 also, and have found this resource but it seems a bit ambiguous if oil is required or not?? https://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/pages/competition
  7. That seems to be exactly what i need then! Thanks for the link, i will order it and see how it goes.
  8. Does anyone have any advice or recommended products for cleaning a foam air filter? I have no idea if and when mine was done last (and/or if it requires oiling) and am keen to do that as part of its winter service. Any advice greatly appreciated!
  9. HI Chris, is this for a S3 or an SV? The YC plastics ones are very well reviewed, but sadly not available for a SV as myself and other members have enquired about this in the past.
  10. That's a remarkable coincidence isn't it !
  11. I have heard of an innovative way of releasing stuck bolts etc by using wax. It appears to be as simple as applying some heat and then applying some simple wax like a 'tea light' and allowing that to penetrate. I have not tried this myself but have heard it anecdotally on a few occasions with supposed good results.

    Rust!

Goodness me, that a price and a half for changing the headlights! I'd be interested in the breakdown of the quote
  13. Thank you thats great. I will take look!
  14. Would you have a link to the item at all? just to make sure i get the right one. I think this is worth a try! also does it need gluing in place or is there sufficient friction to hold it on at speed?
  15. Is that an added lip to the top of the drivers side part of the screen ?

    2018 Caterham 420S SV

What a lovely spec'd and incredibly clean car. I wish you well with the sale as this would be a fantastic purchase for someone
  17. Congratulations on taking the plunge. It will be a journey of discovery, and you will love the extra sensory stimulation that it brings! I too have the clear screen which i really like, and mirror wise i have a convex centre mirror and flat side mirrors (Both are SPA). I like the centre convex one and use it more than the side ones due to vibration. My screen was second hand so the mirror holes were already drilled, but had it been new i would have mounted them a little higher up the side of the screen to give better clearance of the bolts to the scuttle and also better angle to the rear arches. The next decision will be head/face/eyewear. Plenty to experiment with depending on your usage and risk appetite. Either way it will bring a new dimension to your drive!
  18. Seems they have invented what could be termed a 'Cater-ism'
  19. Just resurrecting this thread as my Duratec has one of these as a 'Dry sump guard' (Doesn't guard the sump at all), and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge if this and the nylon wedge type further up this thread are interchangeable?
  20. I'm not sure how sophisticated the back end of the new platform is, however it would be interesting to know if the change to the new platform has produced a spike in activity (Which I suspect it has), but also if that activity is by users that may not have been as engaged on the old site ?
  21. That's a very useful video for the archives.... Thank you for sharing !
  22. They do look very similar indeed. It will be interesting to see how well they work..... fingers crossed as that's a bargain!
  23. Not so much a tool as such, but i have been using these headlamps for quite a while both professionally and for leisure and can highly recommend them. Excellent quality, reputation, brightness, battery life and beam pattern. Lots to choose from in the range too. Can't recommend them highly enough.
  24. Looking at them i think it's fair to say that they look 'Similar' to the cafe racer ones, however there is obviously a big price difference. By the same token the cafe racer ones look 'Similar' to the CC ones, again with a considerable price difference! Im certainly no expert, but by my logic i would assume that the quality is broadly dependent on price purely due to the economics of it all. I couldn't justify the price for the CC ones for the amount of time i would rely on them driving in the dark, but by the same token i didn't want to fit something that was of very poor quality. For me the cafe racer ones seemed like a good compromise that would fit my needs. I think it would be safe to assume that the ebay ones and the cafe racer ones weren't the same item, and by the logic above, that the cafe racer ones aren't the same spec as the CC ones. There are certainly lots of choices out there and no real way of telling how good or bad something is until you've bought it and tried it, which is what led me to go on recommendation for mine.
  25. I have recently fitted these and they are excellent. Bought them on the recommendation of a friend and also happy to recommend them too.
