  1. Do you think that's necessary on a car that's less than 2 years old and has covered 2,200 miles?
  2. Solved it - was the top front diff carrier bolt - the one that goes all the way through. Tightened it to 61Nm as per the assembly guide and it's all quiet now Any tips for getting it to stay tight if it's prone to loosening?
  3. I'm getting a creak when accelerating and decelerating (and on a gear change). It sounds like it might be coming from near the diff. Are there any usual suspects for parts that might be interfering/rubbing in that area, or any particular bolts to check the tightness of??
  4. Quick related question - is this palaver similar for setting the TPS on a 301R. I just had mine recalibrated under warranty while it was having a few other issues addressed, but wondered if it needs doing in the future is it something I can do at home?
  5. Yep, upgrade to LED headlights and put a sticky dot over the blue light on the dash. Mine looks just like David's above (although I used a white sticky dot to match the markings on the dial). While you're there, put a second sticky dot over the annoying indicator beeper I've no idea why Caterham thought the tell-tale light on the dash should be brighter than the headlights themselves
  6. It's just the fluid/float moving under acceleration, even when it's on max. My 310R has done it from new, so I've just fitted the race cap. Problem solved. No more flickering and no more seeping out on track https://caterhamparts.co.uk/master-cylinder/914-brake-master-cylinder-cap-race-no-float-switch.html
  7. I get it if I try to go to my profile.
  8. I finally picked up the car from Williams today - I had to wait for a new windscreen and roll bar to be fitted (also under warranty) at the same time... I gave it a good few tests on the way home, and I can confirm that the hesitation isn't there anymore - it accelerates smoothly all the way to the shift light now Apparently the TPS settings were all out too, so they've been reset to the factory settings. That's made a big improvement to driveability, so I can only assume the TPS settings were wrong when the car left the factory.
  9. Caterham has just fitted a new Windscreen to my 310R under warranty because some of the heating elements weren't working.

My 310R with LSD and lightweight flywheel whines. It's done it from new. Could be gearbox though. Who knows? All normal according to Caterham.
  11. Surely on a new screen you'd insist they replaced it with one without faults? EDIT: I see the reply feature is still broken (this isn't a replay to the previous post)
  12. The JAL headlight inners are identical to the OEM Caterham ones, and are indeed E-marked.
  13. Yes they said it is quite common, although I didn't find anything searching Blatchat.
  14. The car is at Williams at the moment, and apparently the issue is caused by the immobiliser relays vibrating. I believe they've fixed the issue by adding more vibration damping, but I won't have the car back for a few days to confirm.
  15. I have the factory clear lens pack on my car, and once when I was pulling off into a petrol station (indicating and braking) a guy on the main road behind beeped at me and yelled "no lights" out of the window. The way he roared off up the road made me think he was just a ****, but it does kind of make the point that the rear lights aren't great...
  16. LOL at using super in the lawnmower
  17. I have to admit I use it in my 310R too. For a low mileage keeper I think it makes sense to use fuel that will look after the engine. If not for the not for the zero ethanol content, then for the detergent additives.
  18. Right now, if you want E0 (and you live in the right part of the country), Esso Synergy Supreme+ 99 is ethanol free: https://www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuels/petrol So that might be an even better winter storage fuel.
  19. https://www.caterhamcars.com/en/latest/can-i-use-e10-petrol-in-my-caterham TL;DR: All Ford and Suzuki-powered Caterhams since 2006 are compatible with E10, but you might want to fill up with E5 before storing for winter. All other Rover, Vauxhall or Ford x/flow Caterhams should use E5. Perhaps we should make this sticky?
  20. It's a shame Caterham hasn't done the same as as Lotus and put a page on its website: https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/fuel-compatibility/ That lists the K-Series Elise as not compatible with E10, although the stated reason is: Not sure why they've tested all their cars since 1987 except the K-Series Elise
  21. I used Mintex 1144 for a while on my Elise but didn't like the dust. What are they like on the Caterham? What make are the OEM pads?
