    Aero attire

What does everyone wear when going aero on the road? I have ballistic glasses but find that any sort of hat just gets blown off at speed. And I'm well aware of the potential risks of not wearing a helmet...
  2. I presume replacing the lambda sensor is plug&play? No need to calibrate?
  3. Just checked and it looks like they are the same connectors! Ordered one from Opie Oils for roughly 1/3 the full price of the Caterham one. AND I Googled "Opie Oils discount code" and it came up with one for 15% off. Result. Thank you.
  4. Thanks aerobod. Would the appropriate sensor come with a Caterham compatible plug on the other end?
  5. Is there an alternative source for a Duratec lambda sensor? Caterham Parts are out of stock.

    Down on power

Thanks aerobod. I have made myself an "Advanced" user (ha ha). When I click on the background there are a number of options for the lambda sensor (see photo). Is the Lambda window (which shows 1.03) I've opened the correct one? 1. How should the "status and oscillation" vary and how can I tell? 2. Can a malfunctioning Lambda affect power, even at the top end? 3. Why over 60c? Thanks
  7. Be aware that leaving the voltmeter indicator switched on will drain the battery. Ask me how I know...

    Down on power

What do you think of the EasyMap pics? Anything out of order? Throttle voltage goes up from 0.47 to 4.09. Does the rad fan relay error mean anything or is it a peculiarity of using the software with a Caterham? The fan comes on, as expected, at 100c.

    Down on power

I've got one of the interface cables. I'll plug it in and see what's what.

    Down on power

Never use E10. Coolant level normal. Air filter almost new. Temp was 80 all last year- not just an ambient temperature related phenomenon. I have been told my lambda sensor is not working normally, but, one again, this has been the case for 2yrs and, as I understand it, the lambda sensor only really affects low rpm running? Correct?

    Down on power

I'm pretty sure I'm down on power. 2015 Duratec on throttle bodies. Feels like a 420 rather than R500. Usually a smooth take up of throttle with very occasional "p-p-p-p" before taking off when you stamp on the throttle. Everything else feels smooth, but slower. The oil temp seems to settle at around 90 rather than 80 where it was a couple of months ago. Otherwise the oil pressure/level/water temperature is as it was. And there a probably a few more pops from the exhaust but this is by no means a regular feature. So what might it be?

    Lifeline QR boss

Does anyone have a Lifeline QR boss that they'd part with? It's to fit the standard steering column top on a 2015 car. The male part has 13 splines (including the wider one at the top) and is about 18.8mm in diameter. BUT it must have the broad single spline on the same side as the TWO bolts holes. So the Momo wheel is mounted with the apex of the triangle pointing down. Or I'd be happy to swap a brand new OE Caterham spec (apex of the triangle of bolts pointing up) one for yours. Anyone?
  14. Make sure you drill them the right way up! I bought a secondhand wheel without thinking and when it arrived the hole pattern is the opposite to my other wheels (and therefore the steering column. I'm going to have to get an adapter plate made up to switch them around as the MOMO logo is in the position of one of the holes if I were just to drill three more. Anyone know where/who could make the be up for me?
  15. Ordered one! I think a couple of terry clips under the front of the passenger seat will be just the ticket.
  16. They look too good to be true! Do they come with a mounting brackets?
  17. After my little electrical fire (it turned out to be a short caused by the loom rubbing on the immobiliser) I'm keen to get a fire extinguisher. I'm wanting a small, probably foam, extinguisher to keep within easy reach in the cabin. Not plumbed-in. Does anyone have a recommendation for one, preferably with a mounting bracket, that won't take up too much room or be too much on display for prying eyes. I was thinking of the passenger transmission tunnel or right in front of the passenger seat on the floor.
  18. Anyone got one of the above in good condition they'd like to move on? Please PM me. Thank you.
  19. Does this still allow you to use the cruciform as a jacking point?
  20. Is there any way of removing the outside shoulder strap bolts without removing the roll cage? I have a "track day" roll cage with the double diagonal bars at the back. The bolts cannot be screwed out all the way because they are impeded by the diagonals.
