  1. I have no pictures as I'm essentially trying to rebuild a chassis into a track day car, so I guess if I get compatible units it doesn't matter. I've removed the request for 1989 items and just seek a set of driveshafts and / or wheel flanges for a S3
  2. For S3 deDion - Driveshafts and wheel flanges. By wheel flanges I mean the flange which takes the wheel studs and bolts to the driveshaft spindle. The driveshafts are push in tripod jointed.

    Driveshaft diameter

I got an answer as follows for De Dion The hub end of the driveshaft is 30.43 outer dia with 29 splines, the inner is 28.68 and 26 splines Thanks everyone
  4. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the driveshaft spline at the wheel end? Just checking compatibility with whell flanges. Thanks
  5. No longer looking - thank you Gordon

    Sierra Driveshafts

One of the Sierra setups I've seen has lobros on the axle end and tripods on the wheel end and it is with a disc brakes, so I think it should be ok with the de dion ears. Having looked at the rear of the Caterham I think that if lobros were fitted at the wheel end they will foul the chassis under full suspension movement, hence that option probably wouldn't work. I'd dearly like to get my hands om some knackered driveshafts to experiment. Another complication is that I believe there are different spline sizes at the wheel end and hence different wheel flanges - any experts out there?

    Sierra Driveshafts

Jonathan Yes, there are loads of Sierra diffs - some good information on http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/components/sierra_rear_differential/ From what I can see, the LSD axles are on 4x4s and have flange connections. maybe LesG can let us know what he used and any issues, challenges, the end result, would he do it again, was it worth it.... I'm only considering this to save money, but if it gives a poor result I'll save for a bit longer .......

    Sierra Driveshafts

LesG That's the route I am considering because it may be a cost effect route to source a 4x4 Sierra rear end and modify it for a Caterham. For info, I'm starting without any rear end parts except a set of Caterham hubs and Granada calipers, hence I don't have driveshafts or flanges, etc Any thoughts anyone else?
  9. Has anyone ever had Sierra driveshafts shortened and used them on a Caterham S3 deDion? Experience, advice, suppliers and / or opinions welcome ......
  10. Still looking for de dion ears or endplates as they're described by Caterham. If anyone's planning an upgrade, I'm waiting to buy your old ones .....
  11. Now only looking for Ears - thanks for the responses for the tube. Looking for a de dion tube and ears for a series 3 pre '90 car any condition as I can repair it if necessary. Many thanks.
  12. I purchased this on ebay on 4th November from eliseantonia07 Associated text was: I bought this Omex 600 series ECU from a friend for my 2.0 Ford Focus zetec mk1 blacktop to throttle bodies just under 3 years ago. Works perfectly well, just slight cosmetic wear (Pictures of it under boot wrapped in plastic for protection.) It is currently mapped (by Austeq in Crawley/Manor Royal) for throttle bodies on a 2.0 black top zetec engine with full exhaust and Kent fast road cams. Requires tweaking as it was tuned down for my last MOT in February however I never tuned it back up as was soon to buy a new car. Software is easily available off the Omex website including software and hardware manuals. I had personally installed and set up a base map (with Omex on the phone) in my driveway on a laptop and had all the manuals on my iPhone which was pretty simple tbh! I have not used this ecu and it has been stored indoors since purchase, selling for the same price I purchased it because I have changed my plans. £480 plus postage
  13. May I have one oil pressure gauge please? I'll mail address.
  14. And if it all falls through....(unlikely) I'll be keen to buy the driveshafts.
  15. Many thanks for the offer but I've concluded that I'm going to be fussy and look out for a Scholar, Dunnell or Raceline oil pan - all of which have a good pedigree and are certain of working on track days.
  16. CaterBram Many thanks for the offer but it is indeed for a Caterham - I didn't make that clear in the original posting. I'll hold out for a more suitable oil pan. Cheers
  17. Does anyone have a "low cost" Zetec oil pan? Condition or damage not important. This is for installation in a Caterham. Many thanks for the offers to date but I've concluded that I'm going to be fussy and look out for a Scholar, Dunnell or Raceline oil pan - all of which have a good pedigree and are certain of working on track.
