  1. I'm the "friend" and just posting to close the enquiry. I found a S3 race cage from a 2004 Academy car imperial chassis and modified it to fit (Thanks to Martin). I did miss-lead Roger with my original question in that I'd forgotton that I had modified my suspension with an upgrade kit from Caterham which replaced the front trunnions and more relevant to this thread replaced the rear spindle dampers with a horizontal upper fixing on the damper fixed to a bracket that also took the rear anti-roll bar - the car has sat in the garage for 5 or 6 years and there have been many other projects in between! The mod to the roll cage was simply to saw off the mounting bosses on the main rollover hoop and replace them with a plate that was identical to the plate on my FIA roll bar. The surprise for me was that the mounting points in the boot did not match up with the rear of the roll cage - they were too low by a considerable amount. So I had to make up and fix new mounting brackets to the rear of the car in the boot, identical to those already in the lower position. The final mod to the car was to replicate pn the drivers side the fixing boss that already existed on the passenger side to fix the petty strut of the FIA roll bar. Et voila ! Ca roule!
  2. John , if you have a 2 port cylinder available then I would like to investigate if I can swap the reservoirs. I'll call redline for advice. Thanks and I'll come back to you.
  3. Does anyone know if the Caterham current part (2 port) reservoir fits the original 3 port master cylinder. It looks like it might. Many thanks.
  4. Anyone got a master cylinder reservoir or indeed cylinder assembly? Need to replace the reservoir on my "aged" master cylinder. Thanks in advance.
  5. My '87 car has open pedal box with 3 port master cylinder (2 front lines, one rear) and needs a new reservoir. Does anyone know where a reservoir could be sourced or have a clever solution? I really don't want to change the brake lines to suit a 2 port master cylinder as I'm resonably satisfied with the current set-up. Thanks in advance
  6. Searching for a 3 port master cylinder reservoir. Is your master cylinder still available? Here's hoping - thanks.
  7. Just getting the hang of an iPhone and first posting on blatchat!! I'd like to take the roll cage and bar to try and fit to my '87 de-dion. Cheers
  8. Quoting mwoodham: S3 race cage from my 2004 Academy car, with triangular type side impact bar. Some slight surface corrosion to the front legs of the cage but nothing that a bit of wire wool and some hammerite wouldn't sort out. I've left is-is so any buyer can assess it. Caged type, MSA stickers still on it, never rolled (!). link to photos here. Side impact bar is the triangular type here which I was astonished to see costs £156 new 😳 😳 £250 for both, buyer collects (Cambs)/ GONADS or courier at cost - they aren't particularly heavy but have some bulk... Pics on request and I'll honour dibs on here. Edited to add in photos link Edited by - mwoodham on 6 May 2012 10:09:42
