Vanessa Morris
A firend bought an ex Palmer car and the chassis / diff mount broke twice if I remember correctly with it ending up at Arch.
John Howe
Call me old fashion, call me any thing you like, but I don't feel that Caterham Cars have the right to advertise on this list! ... before you know it, we will have their complete range of second hand cars, new models and upgrades being promoted on Blat Chat. If they want to advertise through the Club, then let them pay for the space in Low Flying - same as Ammo, Redline etc etc! Site Manager
All, Andy contacted me before posting this. I have recently softened my line a little on advertising, and I am sort of happy for people who support the Club through advertising in Low Flying to have occasional advertisements on here. If you feel that the advertising gets too much, then maybe I should open a forum for commercial advertisers. The only people who would be allowed to post in this new forum would be those who also advertise regularly in Low Flying. Comments to me via sitemanager at lotus7club.co.uk please, I don't want this particular ad polluted any further. Thanks Barry
dino ferrana
Failing to see the problem with it. Many other people advertise bits and pieces in the For Sale section from their businesses. I am sure that Caterham have contributed quite a bit to club events in the past.
James Saunders
Of course they have .... they build our cars 😬
Greg Park
For Sale should have anything Caterham on which is for sale. If you're looking for a car you it would be good to have everything in one place. It''s been very helpful when other blatchatters have pointed me towards an alternative source if they have what I'm looking for. Although it would be good if companies who advertise in Low Flying had their own for sales section. However it would be even better if: a) They gave a donation to the club for every Caterham sold via BlatChat - raising money for the club or b) Sold products slightly cheaper on blatchat - give added value to those who use blatchat End of the day we should all benefit! 😬 Parky
Petrolhead
I see no problem if Caterham want to place the odd ad.

finmac
No doubt many of you will have been to Palmer Sport (and in the process mercilessly canned the se7ens on the Catreham experience)? "One careful owner" is not an expression that readily springs to mind! 😬 😬 THE ONLY SE7EN IN THE OUTER HEBRIDES!!
dino ferrana
Although they must have had a hard life I imagine they have had a lot of maintenance done too! IF you have ever been to Bedford you will notice that it is a really well run show. I doubt JP tolerates too many mechanical failures to I would guess the cars would get a lot of regualar maintenance? Do say they have been mechanically rebuilt, I guess it depends how far this goes? captain chaos
I think Barry has got it right. A certain level of advertising by people who support LF is fine. You could also look at it that it gives those who visit here regularly first chance at some good deals.

EFA
Let it be known that Caterham significantly supported the Rumble last weekend. We should play out our side of the bargain. AMMO
I would like to see a trade ads. section on Blatchat. Probably only for Caterham specialists or dealers who are known to us here. Making it open to everybody could lead to much confusion and possibly some less than scrupulous people advertising or advertising junk we don't really want. I have a vested interest because I make my living by selling components / services. I also look at it from a customer's point of view as a useful service. I have bouught a lot of bits from the For Sale section for my own car. This would make more work for the Site Administrator who is probably already over-worked as it is. I think that anybody who wants to place trade ads will need to at least pre-register and be checked out before being allowed to advertise if not already known. I would not mind paying to be able to advertise here. Maybe a yearly fee or something similar. Accepting trade ads would allow Blatchatters to get the first chance of any special offers. So it would be a useful service in my opinion. If the dealers that Blatchatters support are allowed to flourish they will be here for years to come to support you / us / me as well. I try not to plug my business here. I always acknowledge compliments and give any technical information if people ask. In fact, I remember posting here for around 18 months before I mentioned what I did for a living. I come here because I like to. I find it stimulating and amusing. Currently I use Low Flying to advertise my business. To be able to advertise here as well would be great. Hopefully it would also be useful to others. metal mickey
Actually I agree with Arnie on this one. Providing the advert is open i.e Caterham declare it is they who are selling the car/parts I have no problem and think we should support them and other 'trade' adverts. I think ammo's suggestion is also a good one about a trade section but it creates more work so why not just prefix the add with 'trade' and put it in the for sale section. Any traders not adhering to this would soon be found out. Mike.
Dobuy
I agree with AMMO, I think a trade section would be excellent, save me countless hours trying to find bits on obscure websites. Also could help to pay for Blatchat by having some kind of nominal fees
Slipper man
I agree with both Arnie and Ammo on this one! They called Barry Sweeney and asked if it was OK to place this. On the basis that these are a special deal, he said yes. BTW: i had a look at one of these cars yesterday. If you are looking for a car to use on track days, expecting to do some upgrades, the car I saw was the bargain of the year at £10k or so. Felt tempted myself..... It is effectively a 1.8 SL stripped out for circuit use.
trailerman
I may be wrong but the one on the caterham website seems to have the 'standard' roll bar, with no diagonal. can this this really be the manufacturer's "ideal trackday car"?
