andy_h
Re windscreen: So I've removed the top frame (noting the wooden dowels) which leaves the bottom metal frame still stuck to the glass. How does this come off as I've tried and crushed the ends of the screen where the heated cables are but can't get it to budge off the glass. Any ideas? I need to save the rubber for re-use. Thanks, Andy
Klunk
Sorry, thinking of the wrong piece of rubber Regards, Giles Edited by - Klunk on 13 Oct 2013 22:29:
The Pikey
there is nothing other than the rubber holding it in. I used a weak solution of fairy liquid. Jason
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 13, 2013 Leadership Team Share Posted October 13, 2013 Remove the c/sunk screws in the lower corners then pop of the bottom section. Glass will then draw out of the upper frame section. Don't try to do it quickly, just lay it down flat and apply pressure and it'll easily come apart. The screws go into small triangular pieces ... check the orientation and make a note ready for reassembly, it's not obvious. Stu.

TomB
Wear some light work gloves, glass can hurt.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Second Elie's suggestion. Lay the glass flat. Wood on glass and slide hammer on glass to hit wood at various points along its length.
