Pierre Gillet
Is it correct to say that the new chassis of the Sigma is welded and therefore more rigid ? Pierre
Roadsport06
It is welded, allegedly 12% more rigid too BRG and Yellow nose VU06 XZX
Pierre Gillet
Thanks for the info. Is the extra rigidity brought by the replacement of brazing by welding or by a different design ? Pierre
rgrigsby
It uses thicker tubing as well as a being welding rather than brazed so it's probably a combination of a bit of both. Of course the thicker tubing does mean it's a bit heavier. Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com

Revin Kevin
More difficult to repair if you bend it. Can someone confirm but are the race chassis still built by Arch? Cheers Chris
CharlesElliott
Depends what you mean by 'race chassis'. The Academy have used metric chassis since 2007. Stuart Faulds
I'm not convinced they're any more difficult to repair, and yes, Arch still make the race chassis. That said, the only cars that have used a 'race' chassis since 2002 are Superlights and CSR's.
Alaskossie
Are there any exact numbers available as to precisely how much heavier the bare metric chassis is than a comparable Arch chassis? Alaskossie
