    Bits for Sale

First dibs on the half hood please, if it is black and for an S3 with FIA bar? Willie
  2. Provisional first dibs. I'll blatmail you, and could I have a few photos? When you say removeable, I assume you just mean that it has been drilled, it doesn't come with a boss or anything? Willie
  3. Hmmmm...this is interesting. Mixed opinions. I'm also interested to hear where you got your Willans. They seem to be very expensive compared to Caterham branded harnesses. Willie
  4. Thanks, That's what I was wanting to know. Fancy Willans, but they're a bit pricey, although the adjuster is right at the end of the belt...so ideal for fatties. Hmmmm. Willie
  5. Hi all, The Caterham Harnesses, as seen here have the lap adjusters halfway along the belt. Does this mean with S-Type seats, the adjuster is stuck behind the seat a bit, or is it easily accessible? Thanks, Willie
  6. Hi, I am looking for a black windscreen frame and stanchions. Not worried if the glass is cracked or non existant, so long as the frame etc will clean up. Also after a Momo steering wheel in good condition. Finally, if anyone happens to have any 3" harnesses which have never been fitted or used, preferably Willans, I'd also be interested. Long shot that one. Thanks, Willie
  7. Ahhh, my apologies...hadn't picked that up from the posts. Personally I find its the fore/aft distance that makes the distance. If they're at a nice level, you can usually bridge the width by turning your foot more sideways and using your heel, rather than the side of your foot. Definitely worth getting right, blipping on downchanges is the ultimate in cool Willie
  8. Err...why not adjust the throttle cable? If your cable has threaded adjustment on the outer near the throttle bodies, undo the lock nut and then move the adjustment nut one way or the other. That'll shift the pedal up/down as necessary. I'd only bend the pedal if you have no threaded bit or you need bigger adjustment than the cable gives. Willie
  9. Not sure what the pickup is like on the VX, but if it pushes up in with a sealing ring around it (Maybe an o-ring) have a look at it, make sure its not pitted, cut or not seated correctly. If you have it out, smear some oil around the seal before re-fitting the pickup. Hope you get it sorted. Willie
  10. As far as oil is concerned, definitely. I know the general BC consencus is "It's fine, it'll just be the sender", but from my point of view...I'd rather not take the risk. Why risk your engine? Sure, it could be a sender and it could be fine...but if its not...its quite expensive. Willie
  11. Your cuts were definitely below the gauze/mesh level? How do you know it is not touching again? It sounds very likely that it is. I'd double check. If it is, you might be as well modifying it a bit more permanently. Maybe cut and reweld it to raise it an 8th or so. I brazed three spuds on mine, so that if it did touch, they would touch first, still letting oil flow in. Do not rely on a few small cuts...you need a good amount of flow. Willie
  12. Could be a restriction in the oil pickup pipe. If it was me, I'd drop the sump for a look to see if there is anything floating about in there...or jammed in the mesh of the pickup pipe. Willie
  13. Hi Derek You've got a gorgeous car. Hope you enjoy it as much as Steve did. That said...I do think he did got more enjoyment from polishing it. Nice to see it stay in L7C. Incase you're unaware, it was Mark F355's before Steve. Health to enjoy. Have a BTTT on me. Willie
  14. By any chance are these wheels off a recently purchased black Xflow? Willie
  15. Standard procedure for removing tubeless valves is to cut the "bulb" at the rear off with a hacksaw. I'd suggest if they did give you them back...they'll not be much use now. Only a few pence for new ones. Willie
  16. Guys, After an FIA bar for a '97 de dion to replace the standard bar. Needs to be in good condition and black powder coated. Got anything suitable? Thanks Willie
  17. Has the top wishbone got the washers in the bushes correctly? Could it be sitting a bit far back? Willie (No experience of SVs...just a thought)
  18. Wanted: A 1.6 De Dion Supersport with the following: 6spd box S-Type Seats Black Pack Full Screen & Weather Gear Heater Must be in good condition. If you have anything that might fit the bill, please blatmail me. Thanks very much, Willie

    Track day wheels

Alternatively, if you're on a really tight budget...Peugeot 305 rims fit and work. I put a pair of old T1Rs on a set for a trackday, intending to use them for hooning. Ended up loving the way the R888s on my "good" rims felt, so scrubbed them off instead. I have a set of steel 8spoke wellers which I've just had blasted/coated and am for using for a trackday set. Willie
  20. Now sorted, friend has got himself a nice supersport SV. Thanks to all those who blatmailed and got in touch. Appreciated all the responses and the result. Willie
  21. This may be of help. Only allows 10 exports to dxf on the trial version though. Here may also help. Microstation uses a .dgn format, but I'm fairly certain it can open .dxfs. Should've bought AutoCAD Willie
  22. Mike, What file formats can Solid Edge output? Willie
  23. Niiiice. They're the retro cool car of the future, just you wait an' see. Keep at it. Get a few pics up when you can. Willie
