  1. Hi all, I believe QED sell spacers for 42mm Jenveys, which are more or less just a block of solid ali with three holes in it, used to space the trumpet out from the TB. I can't find these on their website; just the tapered 42-45mm ones. I was looking at some tonight on a friend's car, his are 25mm long. Does anyone know if they're available from QED, or anywhere, in different lengths?
  2. Not sure what accuracy would be needed, but I'd guess if the input shaft could be measured to 1 spline tolerance and the steering arm/output to 1/16", it should be more than accurate enough. A pic, if possible, of measuring the steering arm (At the rack body) would help anyone else replicate the measurement. I can't mind what they look like, but I'm imagining undoing the inboard cable tie & pulling the boot back, putting a mark on the inner rack and then using a square ended steel rule against the alloy rack body to measure how far it travels. Apologies for seeming like a lazy dictator, but I've sold my rack now, and nobody knew what it was, so I've nothing to measure ☹️
  3. There are all sorts of suggestions and no fail safe way that I have come across. In order to solve this, would anyone with a known 22% rack be willing to accurately measure one full turn of the input shaft (Or steering wheel) and measure the length travelled by one of the steering arms (Measured at the inner gator). That should give us an in vs out ratio. Then if someone could do the same for a known 8% rack we will have a surefire way of telling what's what. Just a suggestion.
  4. BTTT for the weekend. Auctions Ending on Tuesday evening.
  5. Mark's mate has decided to pass, so this is still available. As per above posts, there are all kinds of doubts and opinions, so please assume it to be an 8% rack and if it turns out to be a 22% then it's a bonus.
  6. Certainly Mark, you have first dibs; let me know. Please take it to be an 8% rack, as all evidence points to it being an 8%. Willie
  7. I have been contacted privately by a club member with a 22% rack who was willing to measure his. As his is just over 1 and a half turns lock to lock, it would appear that my rack is not a 22%, but the 8% rack.
  8. Hi all, I had previously advertised this, and it was sold subject to payment, however it has now become unclear wether it is a 22% or 8% rack, and as the buyer is expressly after a 22%, he has understandably withdrawn. I believed it to be a 22% (Which is why I bought it in the first place), however I have measured it using a protractor and have established that it is 1.875 turns lock to lock. My old 8% had over 2 turns lock to lock, however it is generally accepted that 22% racks have 1.75, and so this particular rack is slightly over the stated 22% figure. Not the best sales pitch in the world, but being as honest as I can be. It could be either of the quick racks, 8 or 22%. It is green bodied and for widetrack suspension. I am asking £100.
  9. Hi Phil, Sorry for the delay. Checked this evening, it has black poppers already fitted. Apologies. Hope you get sorted.
  10. Phil, very sorry I missed your post. I'm 99% sure that it has black faced poppers fitted, but will check this evening and report back.
  11. YHM Back. Steering rack sold - that didn't take long.
  12. Steering Rack: Bought (Used) for my rebuild project, and just sat in a spare room (I'd actually forgotten I had it, hence not listed previously). It's green bodied and under 2 turns lock to lock. £100 Caterham Tillets: Same story, except that I intended on keeping these to fit to my next 7. I've now decided to speed the purchase up, I'll just sell as much as I can. I can always get another set. Black GRP, used, normal scratches etc that you get with Tillets. One of the top harness holes has been elongated, I'm not sure why...I suspect for Petty Strut or Inertia Reel belt. Driver's is on adjustable runner, passenger's is fixed alloy runner. Apologies for anyone watching these as I'd priced incorrectly and was advised to ammend. Following quite a few private mails suggesting a price, I have priced these at £280, which is below the average suggested price of £350. This is to permit postage and get a quick sale. 13. Edited to update the list as a few items have sold. Also a BTTT for the weekend 😬
  14. 15. Apologies for the delay RJ, and I should say that in these pics the seat post was a temporary one which was only used until the proper seatpost (Ligher and prettier) arrived. Hoping to get proper photos of it tomorrow to put on a few sites. http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/209/large/IMG_1623.JPG http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/209/large/IMG_1637.JPG http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/209/large/IMG_1631.JPG http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/209/large/IMG_1635.JPG And I'm not even a carbon tart 😬 Edited by - Willie. on 9 Nov 2012 17:01:10
  16. Hi guys, Sorry for the delay, was working on a tender bid, so been a bit quiet these last few days. The e-assist is handy on the hills, especially on a velomobile due to the extra weight. On the flats it's not really necessary if you've got regularly used legs, but it does help if you've been howling past racers on the way home and have forgotten about the big hill and a weeks clothes in the back. It is great fun and by far the best cycling machine I've owned. I am hoping to build my own to replace this, as they're just so practical. I can't afford to buy another 7 and keep it, so the intention is to buy another 7 and have a go at building my own velo. If I can do this correctly, below should be a couple of photos. http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/208/large/DSC_0296.jpg http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/208/large/DSC_0297.jpg http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/208/large/DSC_0308.jpg
  17. Thanks Stu...thought I'd sneaked in un-noticed 😬
  18. Howdy Yep, it's a Caterham K Series one. I never had any click issues with it. It's just been sitting in my garage for the last few years due to my rebuild project which didn't get rebuilt. There is one Caterham, one Jag and I think the other is either Jag or Mondeo, but can't honestly remember. Not a great sales pitch, but just being honest.
  19. Completely forgot to add the BMW roof bars: BMW E36 Touring Roof Bars £30.00 Genuine BMW items with proper locking splined "key" T-Bar. Used but good working order. BMW E46 Touring Aero Roof Bars £45.00 Snazzy aero section bars with low profile clamps. Very neat and discrete. Again, used but good order.
  20. Hi Gary, No problem. I will blatmail you for your postcode to get an idea on postage. Thanks!
  21. As per my other for sale posts, I'm gathering up my 7 budget, and so have to sell all my toys. Along with my prized carbon racer in the other post, I'm going to have to let my velomobile go... this is a sad loss and I fully intend to get another. I intended on building one of these, but saw this one for sale and decided to buy it to find out and learn about them before trying my own blind build. I bought it with about 100miles on it, and I've put an extra 150 or so on. It has under 300miles on all parts (Can be evidenced by the odometer). This cost over £10k to build. I am asking £3900, or will split (Details of the split at the bottom). It is based on a Trice QNT recumbent trike. Mesh seat, hydraulic disk brakes, full suspenion etc. These retail just under £3000. This particular QNT was kept aside by Trice by the instruction of the builder (Specialist recumbent bike shop) for this build. It has always been inside the velomobile shell, and so is in fantastic condition (Velomobiles are great at protecting drivetrain & components). The shell is the Canadian built Borealis. It comes with the genuine Borealis roof, I have only temporarily fitted this to try it out. The shell is of great high quality in white gelcoat. This cost over £5000 by the time shipping and customs tax was paid. The e-assist is the popular Bionx kit. There are two motors and controllers supplied. The 350w motor is fitted, but there is a spare 500w motor and controller brand new and unused. Also included is the battery and charger. One kit costs £1100. It is seriously good fun to ride/cycle/pilot and is MUCH safer than an upright bicycle. With the mirrors I can see people pulling out several hundred yards back to pass, giving me a full lane width, whereas on my upright I usually get elbow room only. Motorists do not realise you are pedalling and treat you as a car. It is also much drier than an upright bike. The e-assist is great. As it is heavier than an upright bike, it's hard work on hills, but with the e-assist it's actually faster up them than the bike. On the flat and downhills you can use the e-assist, or turn it off and just go for it. It is deceptively fast, very comfortable and has got me completely hooked on velomobiles. Complete cost is £3900 Splitting would be: Trice QNT - £1500 Borealis Velomobile Shell - £1500 Bionx E-Assist Kit - £950 This is the 7 of the cycling world 😬
  22. Having a clear out in order to raise funds for another 7, so unfortunately sacrifices have to be made...and amongst them is my prized racer. Dudd Full Carbon Racing bike £1,650.00 6.8kg on the nose (Lightest permitted weight for UCI races. It hasn't done any, but it's the cyclists target). 54cm, fair bit of steerer height adjustment, carbon everything on this, bars, wheels, saddle, crank arms, shifters; this is a serious machine. SRAM Force groupset, only about 500miles, pampered and cleaned after every ride. "Stealth" build (Very few graphics) with white tape and a couple of red anodised alloy bit. Great looking bike. Hardly used. Test pilots can bring your own pedals and shoes - no flats (If you scrape the crank arms...you own it). Turbo Trainer £20.00 Old school type that holds front fork, allowing you to level the bike up. Fan for resistance. Old and tatty, but works. 661 MTB Knee/Shin Pads White £10.00 Too big for me. Used, but not smelly or walking on their own.
  23. Having sold my unfinished rebuild project, I'm now selling the lot to gather up funds for another 7. I'm in N.Ireland, so all plus postage/GONADS/Collection Caterham FIA Bar £160.00 This was fitted to my 7, I had it professionally blasted and powdercoated satin black. Still in protective plastic, unused. For imperial Arch chassis Caterham Duratec 3.0 V6 (240bhp) Jaguar S-Type Engine £450.00 43k miles, from Traynors breakers in NI. Looks to be in great condition from cam lobes. Ideal for someone to fit into a 7. Would be a serious machine (Ask John McK or Mr Evans about their Vaux V6 Westies) Duratec V6 Starter Motor £20.00 From Jaguar S-Type; used but unused by me. MG Midget Gearbox £100.00 Reconditioned but not fitted (Also selling the Midget, so the car buyer gets first priority on the 'box) MG Midget Luggage Rack £10.00 Toot toot Midget Leaf Springs £10.00 Got these as spares with the Midget, unwrapped and unused by me Duratec V6 Caterham Engine Mounts £15.00 Nice, neat engine mounts, powdercoated satin black, to mount DV6 in standard Caterham S3 chassis. Triumph Triple Trottle Bodies £50.00 Ideal sizes and spacing for V6 install. Matching pair in very good condition Duratec V6 Exhaust System £350.00 Steel tubular mandrel bends gas welded. Laser cut manifold plates. Various (Hidden) lambda positions with blanking bungs, for dynoing/mapping. Headers ceramic coated inside and out, the rest only externally. Stainless silencer perforated pipes and unpainted m/s silencer bodies (I intended on carbon wrapping them). Repackable. Should suit most 7s, certainly the headers anyway. Yellow Injectors x 6 £40.00 360cc I think, big boys, ideal for Duratec V6 or other high power engines. Bought reconditioned from USA, but they work on right hand drive too. Mocal Oil filter take off plate £15.00 Will fit most filter housings I image. Brand new, unused. Caterham Boot Cover £35.00 For FIA bar and hood sticks. Very good condition, another item I bought and never used. Caterham Full Hood £80.00 Hi-Vis. Good condition, comes in hood bag. And yes, the Duratec V6 does fit in a standard S3 chassis, weighs approx 120kg, 240bhp in standard trim, so expect up around 275-280bhp on the TBs and Emerald...add in cams and it'll get very interesting 😬 Edited by - Willie. on 17 Nov 2012 13:27:31 Edited by - Willie. on 1 Dec 2012 20:43:47
